This personal statement is to be written in English. You will need to answer the three

1. How do you believe the Bachelor of Science program will help you achieve your
future academic and professional goals?
Practicing entrepreneurship is a stage which not only requires capital and
entrepreneurship or leadership skills; proper knowledge of business is also necessary in
terms of executing the plan into action. I have gone through books and journals on
various stories of successful businesses to realize that most of the business leaders have
studied economics at university level. Besides, all the leading personalities and
successful entrepreneurs opted for mathematics as their initial preference. Later on all
have studied economics out of their interest in business and mathematics. However, I
want to explore opportunities of financial professions. The primary academic goals of
learning mathematics and economics major for me is to develop detailed perception
regarding the operating procedure of market and economy. Mathematical and statistical
understanding will help to solve economic issues within market. Such practices will
help me to achieve efficiency while dealing with real life situations in business. Another
important part of business is communication and developing contacts with relevant
economic contents presented through both the written and spoken mode of delivery.
This skills are going to help me exploring various professional opportunities other than
fulfilling entrepreneurship goals. Being an informed citizen about economic policies,
will help to analyze government decisions and assist to improve my personal finance
management skills later on. This proficiency can lead me towards enlightenment
developing my critical thinking, problem solving and communicational abilities, which
is required in all professional fields irrespective of industries. Therefore, I believe
Bachelor of Science program offered by your esteemed university is going to be
supportive as far as my dream of being a young entrepreneur is concerned. As a matter
of fact, choosing École Polytechnique for pursuing my career in Bachelor of Science is
because of the institution provides great exposure for establishing a better career growth
with better academic syllabus related to my field of interest. Moreover, a cultural
exchange will be possible as the institution has students from 32 nationalities. It will
enrich my ability in professional sphere.

2. Describe one example of how you have been able to develop your interpersonal skills
through an experience where you have influenced others positively, helped solve
disputes or contributed to group efforts.

3. Is there a problem in the world today, no matter the scale, that you would like to
help to solve? Explain how this problem relates to you and how you would contribute
to a solution?
Teamwork, learning, history, innovation, reunions, solving disputes, to be united, well
surrounded with positive energy and people helps to ensure development of right attitude
which can be applied both within personal and professional fields.
I can recall one incident right before a basketball match in school while guiding my
teammates. We were on our practice for a month before the actual tournament happened.
However, the synchronization between members were not up to the mark and as team
caption I found one upping tendency among some of my teammates. It got so serious one
day that our coach dismissed our practice with a warning of eliminating us as a team from
upcoming tournament. I decided to take the stand as a captain and asked my coach to
come for a meeting session with all our teammates. That meeting I rightfully argued with
my mates whether they have understood the concept of team or not. The tendency of
competing with team mates does not develop if members are unified and help each other
to achieve the shared goals. This is how I thought as a team caption along with that I
believe this concept is true both in professional and academic field as well.
After the session, coach praised me and thanked me for taking the initiative. Next
practice session was meaningful as the entire team felt the difference after understanding
the meaning of unity and team coordination. I consider this incident as one of my
interpersonal experience so far where I have contributed a part within a group to
influence other people for settling down a conflict and generate positive results too.
I hope I will be able to explore my capability to adapt with course system and going to
develop sound knowledge of economics and mathematics.
21st century has experienced extensive technological development. It has witnessed the
revolution of internet and various modes of communication. Media platforms have been
expanded beyond radio, newspaper and television. Development of search engines and social
media platforms are the mediators to channelize fake information and news. The existence of
web news is contributed by common people mostly. There are authorized organizations yet in
spite of innovating technological invention to filter news materials from the false ones, lack of
supervision and accountability people are facing dilemma regarding what to believe and how to
develop a correct view on things.
I have observed social networking sites are central source of fake information. 70% of shared
stories over Facebook and retweeted news over twitter are false. True stories are hardly circulated
and have been distinguished from the fake ones. I believe I will be able to understand the method
of collecting actual data and criticizing the issue with mathematical support. Such practice of
generating fake news over blogs and fake videos over YouTube receive high turnover and
sources of economic drain. This misleading phenomenon should be stopped along with that if
possible I can explore my knowledge of science, I am going to apply in all the fields possible
which is related to social and economic issues.
Being critical, it can be argued that people used to have different perception before technology
conquered the world as well. However, things were not as exposed as it is now. Along with
authentic news, there are people who tend to circulate fake news to fulfill self-centered interest of
peers. Such news creates tension and unnecessary pressure on human perception.
The goal of science is to make students prepare for validating existing information with logic and
proper evidence. Studying economics and mathematics will not only help me to engage myself
into criticizing the facts against probabilities, along with that I will be capable of distinguishing
between fake and authentic news.
