As an individual with an aspiration to do well in my future career, I have set the following values

Consideration of the Values:
According to Pappas and Pappas 2015, giving consideration to core personal and work values is
critical for career management as it offers the path towards success and gives guidance in critical
situations. To this manner, the above values are critical in the development of my career as they will
enable me to work well with people and identify potential employers. The argument of Pappas et al. has
also been affirmed by Athota, Budhwar and Malik 2019 who in their school of thought states that career
leaners who possess personal values are always able to make an appropriate decision leading to success.
The authors further states such students always chooses paths that match their values and grow quickly in

My Field Of Work And Hard Skills Developed From The Course:
My field of work is in hotel and hospitality management, and my ‘lien of the specification is the
position of head chef. I believe that the course has been productive, and I have been able to acquire
important hard skills suitable for my field as below.

How These Skills Will Help In My Field Of Work:
During the course, I have gained knowledge and understanding of risk management, which will
help me various causes or risks to customers as well as the business are well assessed and planned to
avoid compliance issues. Another hard skill is legal skills, which will enable me as a head chef to ensure
that every activity is done according to the set standards and regulation. Moreover, the financial skills
gained from the course is crucial in my field of work and personal life as I intend to apply it to manage
and account for both personal and business resources (Kowsuvon and Burgess 2016). The business
management skills gained from the course is crucial, and I intend to use the skill to lead my team and
work towards the employer goals. Then lastly, as a team leader, the technological skills gained from the
course, is suitable in team management where I intend to use HR software to manage my back- of the
house team.
TASK 2: Capability Audit
Karl, in his 2004 and Ulmer, Sellnow and Seeger 2017, illustrates the importance of
communication skills to an individual planning to have a greater and straight forward career.
The scholar further explains that most employers assess first an individual's communication
capability, which they view as one of the core indicating a factor of success. I believe that I have
been able to communicate effectively based on the experience I have gained through the studies
and by working with various organization. I have worked with leaders from a different

organization such as a world class event in Victoria and Western Bulldogs. Moreover,
throughout my studies, I have had opportunities to present before fellow classmates, and through
this, I have acquired effective communication skills. I believe that I can communicate effectively
at work and manage my team. I have also been able to participate in various meetings in my
previous workplaces, and I was able to communicate my mind and express my points clearly
engaging the audience.
Working with Western Bulldogs and as a world class event in Victoria, I was working as
the event supervisor and managed more than 2000 people in world class Victoria sporting events.
By being assigned these teams, I was able to learn a lot as well as apply various concepts I
learned during the course. This opportunity also presented me with the chance to execute
leadership and administrative roles where learned to time management and task executions based
on the priority. Successfully meeting personal life demands, events demands, and managing my
team required good administrative and organization skills. By successfully meeting y
obligations, I believe that I am fortunate, and I meet the qualities discussed by Reitman and
Williams (2013). According to these two authors, individuals who are able to come up with
proper plans as well as organized, the ability to work effectively towards meeting the
organization goals. Based on this argument and assessment, I have good organizational and
administrative skills.
Gillespie 2018 describes various aspects or pillars that an individual must meet in order
to meet effective customer service provision. As an individual in hospitality management, I must
possess customer service skills as the industry is all about service provision. I have done a
course in with the CSIA, and I have vast knowledge of the area. I tend to believe that with my

In relation to project management ability, I received an award from the Worldskills
Australia. The organization gave me the award as the most outstanding student having completed
the task which I was assigned in a period of less than one year. This is a practical example of my
ability to manage projects. I have also successfully managed two jobs without failure in both
hospitality and event management.

located in Victoria where I received an award for perfectly completing an assigned task in less
than a year. I hold a GPA of 6.5, and I have also received a scholarship deal with one of the
largest MICE industry's largest congress (ICCA).
I am currently looking for an opportunity in Victoria CBD area among various hotels and
restaurants as well as in event organization firms. I have been defined as a detail-oriented
employee with an "I can do it all attitude." My personal values include Leadership, Responsibility,
