INTRODUCTION
Reflexive practices are defined as the subjective understanding of real life incidences
which are totally based over thinking of an individual in critical manner. This is based on
assumptions, actions and values of an individual which are adopted by them to sustain. These
practices are supporting to enhance understanding which are based on reality and defined as a
rational way in order to respond to a particular work and activity. This report is divided into
three sections in which literature review, research methods and creative writing is being
inserted.
PART A
Aim and research context
The major aim behind this study is related to developing understanding in respect of
providing importance of reflexive practices with the view to enhance overall performance in
order to develop professional identity. Reflexive practices are one which allows an individual to
examine their past exerted practices in such a way that high understanding can be inhaled by
which methods of improvements can be analysed and wrong action can be minimised for future
actions. This is helpful in exerting appropriate quality within performance in their actions. In
order to develop self-understanding individual is required to create self-awareness so that they
can make their own professional identity and enhance their image as well. The first step is to
apply tools of research through which high understanding can be developed and this process is
executed with the help of literature review. This could be helpful in drawing personal reflection
so as to make self-image and to develop various occasions to perform action as well. This
report is considering formal professional identity by which behaviour and value framework are
being used to frame CIPD framework, and this could be further discussed with the help of
literature review.
Literature review
There are several theoretical direction which are required within a research so as to direct
research proceeding and to develop better understanding as well for perform further
investigation in better manner. The current research is based on the aim of understanding
importance of self-awareness in order to develop personal identity and the views is been taken

from Caldwell, C. and Hayes, L.A., 2016 which says that self-awareness is helpful for an
individual to understand gaps between their managerial practices and used tactics for
developing their own skills and capabilities. This could be helpful in order to examine current
situation through which individual may get support over making their decision making process
more attractive and impactful as well through which process of stress management can be made
easier and individual can be motivated as well. Self-awareness plays significant role in
providing direction over various situations through these proper actions can be taken along with
particular situation as well. Besides this according to Leavy, B., 2016, self-awareness is
developing in nature which keeps on enhancing and provides action and experience as well.
Reflexive practices develop sense of actions within an individual due to which they can perform
task in the manner they want to along with high proficiency. Along with this these are
supporting an individual to develop their level of motivation so as to acquire right path and
enhance their own skills and capabilities. This provides further opportunities to the individual to
grab more opportunities for their future enhancement and personal development as well. With
the help of CIPD framework, this can be understood in better way as this is associated with
various standards which are helpful for an individual to develop their professional development
and career planning opportunities. CIPD contains three areas of mapping which are explained
as under:
Professional areas: This part is related with providing support in order to examine
various set of actions which are required to be undertaken in order to intensify skills and
capabilities of an individual. This is helpful in providing support in order to determine various
pathways by which individual may develop themselves within their professional and personal
area.
Behaviour: This is considered as the most essential part within areas of personal
development. These are emphasised over understanding behaviour of an individual in which
actions are performed by them in certain situations. This is described as the behaviour which is
required to be developed by an individual in order to attain professionalism within their actions
and competencies as well. This may lead them to face various challenges in such a manner that
they can deal with them in professional manner.

Band and transition: This is associated with major areas in which professional
competencies are arising which could be helpful in developing areas within personal and
professional career. The main bands are defined as situation, advising and management of team
in which leadership and partnership actions are performed in order to take prominent decisions.
These are the essentials of CIPD framework in which high assistance is given to

ANALYSIS
Research methodology
The research methodology is defined as the major part of a research in which various
tools and details which are used in order to perform various investigations in effective manner.
This aspect within research is helpful in order to perform various activities in research process
in appropriate manner. This could also support in gathering work experience in order to provide
appropriate direction to the work. This report is all about researching of personal data in order
to examine importance within self-awareness in order to develop personal identity. For
conducting investigation action oriented research are undertaken in which various actions are
taken. The action research is defined as the interactive process due to which high support is
rendered so as to create balance within actions of problem solving. This could be helpful in

order to understand underlying causes in which future predictions can be performed so as to
attain aspects of organisational change.
Method for personal data analysis
In order to ensure proper findings within personal and professional development I am going
to use Gibbs model so as to get support over drawing proper data and results as well. This
model assists in making full use of gathered data in such a way that high end experience can be
attained (Midgette and et. al., 2018). This model is associated with five stages in which all the
steps are inter-related to each other in order to develop learning experience in various
situations. This manner I am going to use Gibbs cycle in order to gather personal data which is
explained as under:
ï‚· Description: This is defined as the first stage of Gibbs cycle in which I am trying to
gather my past experience in order to conclude various situations in appropriate manner.
This in turn helping in examining in various situations in detail so as to decide right and
wrong aspects within learning process and to learn about strengths and weaknesses in
experiences.
ï‚· Feeling: Under this stage, I am going to explore various feelings under which particular
situation are being performed by taking actions within that particular situation. This is
also associated with evaluation of feelings in a manner that past experience which are
included in the situation. These all are constant in order to gather information regarding
my own by which I am able to handle varied situation in effective manner.
ï‚· Evaluation: After performing both the stages information is being gathered in such a
way that information can be evaluated in proper way. This could help me in dealing
positive and negative aspects of performed situation. This is right approach in which
high contribution is rendered along with particular situation.
ï‚· Conclusion: After examining gathered information in above stages I am going to
accomplish my findings so that I can summarise the entire situation in effective manner
so that experience can be gained. Under this I have learnt so many aspects which are
going to help me in assisting future activities in conclusive manner.
ï‚· Action: After drawing conclusion this is the time to take out prominent
recommendation so that to perform actions within situation in appropriate manner. This

for me in order to deal with future problem which are of similar type (Abdullah, Mohd-

Personal data justification
The major reason of selecting action research is defined as the method in which inquiry is
based upon investigation which could be helpful in accumulating specified information and to
gather focus on some particular topic as well within professional development. On the other
side the another reason for selecting this method is that personal data is providing assistance in
developing various actions so that I can take appropriate consideration in order to lead
enhancement in personal and professional development.
Evaluation of research design
For this report experimental research design is being taken which could be helpful in
undertaking actions in different situation so that to examine areas in which development is
needed so as to enlighten professional identity.

Storyboards
During my performance in the job I have analysed that I am required to have
improvements within my skills and capabilities so as to develop my professional identity so that
I can attain prominent goals and better professional career ahead. For this I have realised that
with the help of my past experience and my strengths I can enhance my performance and
minimise weaknesses (Cottrell, 2017). I am required to initiate working over my professional
and personal aspects so as to make development plan accordingly. For this I have decided to
accumulate information related to personal data so as to examine all those areas in which
improvement is required. So I am conducting research in which various insights can be
developed which could lead me to analyse my own capabilities and enhance them as well. In
order to perform this investigation, I have decided to collect information in relation to perform
reflection on those experiences which has been gained at earlier stage. I have learnt various
things from past experiences and those areas which were not emphasised earlier are required to
be developed so that to initiate higher professional identity as well. With the help of Gibbs
model I am able to analyse my present situation and areas for improvement in order to analyse
things which are going right and wrong in effective manner and can be improved as well.
The Gibbs model is associated with 5 steps in which my past experiences are being
evaluated in a manner that findings can be examined in more accurate manner. This is helpful
in collecting data in more specific manner along with determining them in close manner so that
to enhance my capabilities in a way that I can find out opportunities for my career
enhancement. In the process of implementing Gibbs model, the first stage is defined as
descriptive stage under which I was given a group task in which we were given task of
collecting various information’s which are associated with business performance. On the hand
another task is to determine in which business development is lacking behind in order to fulfil
overall business requirement in prominent manner. This could lead the business to develop
growth strategy in which various succession options can be inhaled. Under this step it is
required that various analytical data is required to be gathered so that business performance can
be aligned with market condition. Under this I was assigned team of 4 members in which I was

responsible to manage data in such a way that senior management team can access to those data
in order to develop discussion within business actions (Zubaidah, and et. al., 2018).
During initials of the project I was nervous and anxious as I was not proficient in
delivering presentation in front of so many people. For this my team helped me as we had some
experienced team members with the help of them we delivered presentation in effective
manner. I was hesitant in communicating to team members as they all were from different
background due to which I faced difficulties in managing them (Sweet and et. al., 2019). After
that I set myself as comfortable in order to work with my team which helped me to enhance my
professional behaviour such as enhancing varied skills as time management, behaviour,
coordination etc. This is the time when I realised the management was right at their decision of
giving me opportunity of working with skilled people through that I can enhance my career
opportunities in such a way that learning abilities can be enhanced.
I examined my experience at the time of gathering information that this helped me to
take appropriate actions and inhale learning as well. I analysed whole the scenario and
performed actions in order to use my strengths and minimising weaknesses as well. With the
help of examining whole the scenario I analysed that my communication skills are required to
be developed so that I am not able to convey my thoughts to other person which creates
confusion in mind of others. Besides this creates restrictions in my mind to express my thoughts
to other which generates high level of mis-management. On the other hand I found that I am
weak at analysing data so this is required to be developed in such a way that I can interpret data
in most effective manner. Besides this I am required to work upon my time management skills
which may be helpful in finishing any assigned task in appropriate manner along within given
time frame. This could lead in minimising delays and hustle within working which helps in
attaining high level of efficacy. After developing these skills when I asked my team to
accumulate data regarding sales then they collected data in effective manner due to which
effective conversation were drawn in order to satisfy needs of the given task. Seniors within my
team executed given tasks in very prominent manner due to which we were able to provide
proper presentation of our results using different charts and graphs (Fent and et.al., 2017).
Form analysing whole the scenario I have analysed that with the help of high degree of
coordination and knowledge, team work can be easier. This enhanced learning which could be

used in order to perform work with experienced people within team. During gathering data I
have analysed that I was making mistake in collecting data and information in detailed manner
and on the other hand there were some irrelevant content which was not making any sense to
the main topic. So within this I have analysed that I am required to work upon my
communication skills as information is requisite to be reached out to people and only with the
help of appropriate communication this is possible. This may lead in drawing appropriate
attention of people and this makes the person highly effective in their appearance. Besides this I
learnt regarding presenting data with the use of proper graphics and other tool which is helpful
in explaining that information to people in easy manner.
In the last stage of Gibbs cycle I have decided to apply those learning in various aspects.
Communication is one of the biggest weakness pertained with me and with the help of Gibbs
model I have received high assistance in enhancing the same. For enhancing communication
skills I have decided to take participate in group discussions, debates and other seminars in
order to open up my hesitation and deal with my lower communication skills. This could lead
me to express my thoughts in most effective way due to which I can manage the team in
appropriate manner. Besides this I am trying to develop my presentation skills so that I can
express thoughts in front of people in most effective manner (Gibbs, 2018). I am required to
keep my speech concise and adhered to the specific topic and for this I am working on
improving my knowledge. This could lead in dealing in informative scenario in prominent way.
By gaining more knowledge I can boost my confidence which my help me in developing my
career options as well. Despite of this I have decided to enhance my way of making
presentation so by inserting various graphics and tools I can make my presentation more
effective and useful. In order to read and understand analytics I am working over my analytical
skills so that critical thinking can be used in order to draw prominent results which are effective
and concise as well (Sicora, 2019). These skills are going to help me in making my career
enlightened by which I can make my own identity and deal with intensifying my capabilities
and skills.
