INTRODUCTION
Learning refers to the method of attaining new skills and understanding which have
various effects on behaviour, knowledge, values, preferences and attitude of an individual. This
ability of learning is attain by humans, animals and some machines too(Abbas, Garberson and
Wall, 2018). It is observed that certain plants also have ability to learn. Learning helps
individual to achieve their objectives and goals they set for their career. It is very essential for
survival of living organisms. This report contains a basic understanding of ways of learning of
people and their various approaches in order to get effective learning. There are various brains
with different capabilities. The capabilities of brain is very essential in the academic studies as it
helps in quick learning. This report also contains explanation of capabilities of brain and its
importance in academic studies. Mapping of mind is essential for storage and retrieve of
information.
TASK
Understand how people learn and various approaches to learning
People start to learn by trying peripheral activities. Peripheral activity is an activity which
is not so important in comparison to other activities or issues. After this they are keen to take
more activities in order to grow their level of confidence(Zaremoodi and Haffari, 2018). People
learn to achieve various skills required to achieve the objectives and goals of life. Learning
power of individuals differs from individual to individual.
There are various approaches of learning which can be used by individual in order to
learn in efficient manner. Approach to learning are the skills which are required to enable
students to learn that how they can learn. This is provided guidelines for teachers and professors
and other persons who are responsible to make student learn certain skills. It helps them to adapt
it in their classrooms to ensure efficient learning. The various approaches to learning are given
below:
Behaviourist Approach to learning – Behaviourist approach is centred on the approach that
focuses on the belief that in order to make them learn a proper behaviour a constant repetition of
task by providing them feedback can be used(Cao and Cai, 2017). A constant repetition of a

individual to improve themselves in many ways. Positive feedback helps a person to encourage
and kieep them motivated to learn and negative feedback helps them to know the area of
improvement and discourage the repetition of mistake or undesirable behaviour(Yang, Bear, and
May, 2018). It provides for various theories ion the based of these approaches. One of the theory
which is introduced by this approach is social learning theory. It includes three stages of learning
in a sequence that is attention is adjusted using a theory, learning takes place through observation
of the theory's behaviour, and the consequences of this and subject evaluation and codes the
learning.
Cognitive Approach to learning - Cognitive theories are taken up with the functions of the
progressive mind in process of learning possibility and developing. In this method according to
the understanding of cognizance of individuals the tutor needs to choose best of the method in
order to convey their understanding. John Dewey is a well known cognitive theorists. According
to him, the procedure of learning is much more than completing an activity. It requires reflection
and learning from this procedure. According to Dewey, learning is only possible if the
individuals are active in the operations. If they want learning to proceed it must be purposeful to
each and every student. They have to be capable to 'experience' the data and the manner to help
this is to gully on past occurrence. It could be argued that Dewey was the first person of
existential learning.
Experiential Approach to learning – This approach is proposed by David Kolb. Under this
approach to learning, it supports more of the activity of contemporary adult training providers. In
this it believes that learning is a ever-changing activity, in which we are perpetually able to build
own learning and improvement by moving through the pursuing cycle(Cheng, Johora and
Müller, 2020).
Capabilities of Brain and its importance to Academic Study
Every brain has different capabilities and interests highly depends on the individuals. Some
individual has interest in academic studies whereas some has their major interest in sport
activities. Capability of mind to perform in academics is completely depends upon the interests
of individuals. Mind contains various capabilities and includes various cognitive aspects like
imagination, thinking, perception, judgement and memory. Memory helps the brain in learning.
Learning is a process in which new learning represents new connection of cells. The strength of
these cell connections are facilitated by chemicals which are known as growth factors(Widowati,

Nurohman and Anjarsari, 2017). According to neuroscience these growth factors can be
enhanced in an individual. This can be achieved from particular exercise routine, positive sleep
structure and meditation which helps in silencing of mind. Different people has different genetic
predispositions which helps organisation. But it experiences continuously modifies behaviour
and shapes structure of brain.
Academic study helps individuals to get necessary skills and knowledge required to grow
in their careers. They have their own importance in the daily life of individuals(Doster and
Watnik, 2017). Academic study is an important factors which helps to place an individual above
all other animals on earth. Person to person varies in academic studies which is linked to
variations in personality and intelligence . individuals with high intellectual quality as observed
by IQ tests and those individuals who are high carefulness be given to attain extremely in
academic study. A new evaluation recommended that intellectual peculiarity has an crucial
power on academic accomplishment with intelligence and carefulness.
The performance of employees in academic study is completely depends on the
capabilities of mind of individuals. In order to provide them a quality learning of academic study
they needs to ascertain the capability of mind of individual. An individual with low memory
power needs to be more focused by tutors in compare to individuals with more memory power.
Learning implies that it is very essential to have a good memory power of brain.
A good capabilities in mind increases concentration power of students. It helps them to
achieve success in the life of individuals. Having concentrated academic study helps the students
to increase and improve capabilities of minds of individuals. It also enhance their abilities to
perform in efficient manner by great concentration powers of individuals. The ability to solve
problems help in academic study to solve various problems which occurred in the duration of
study in a logical manner. It provides for better understanding of time which is very essential in
course of academic study. It also improves storage capacity of brain as academics provides for
various subjects which needs to be stored in human mind in order to clear various exams. There
are several subjects in Academic studies such as science, maths, English, etc. which needs a
proper concentration and memory power of mind(Roy, Das and Nasipuri, 2017). These subjects
are very useful in order to achieve success in the career of an student and to increase efficiency

Mind-mapping as to help store and retrieve of data
The term mind map is arose during 1974 from a TV series “Use your head”. Mind maps
focuses on one word or idea and based on tree structures and radial hierarchies which denotes
relations with central governing concept. Mind mapping refers to the visualisation of organised
information and works as a hierarchical to depicts relationship among pieces of whole. It is just
like creating an image, words and part of words in mind which is a blank page before. Mind
mapping uses the concept of radiant thinking(Tonutti, Gras and Yang, 2017). This helps human
brain in many ways it is very essential to store various data in mind sometimes which can be
retrieved whenever needed. Mind maps are drawn by hand as notes at the time of meeting,
planning or lecture in points to remind it later whenever needed. Mind also store so many things
which needs to retrieved by providing it a point to elaborate the things. Taking an example of
training in an organisation. At the time of training session, employees need to write important
points which will became habitual to them when they work in the organisation. Points which are
taught by trainer in the training will retrieve when they perform those task in real.
Mapping of mind helps to give directions to mind regarding many matters. It helps to
store data in mind in raw form which is retrieved whenever needed. It helps to understand the
main concept with proper efficiency which can be retrieved through certain point whenever
asked. In academic study which involves a lot of concepts it is essential to understand the
concept of mind mapping. Academic studies include so many subjects and literature which needs
to be learn by students. Students are so burdened with this studies. Mind mapping concept used
by teachers to simplify this process of learning. They focus on clearing key concepts to them
with the help of mind mapping. According to this concept the teachers needs to make clear the
concept of chapters so that important points can be noted by students. It will help them to learn it
for longer period of time(Zhou, Brown and Lowe, 2017).
CONCLUSION
From all of the above it can be concluded that learning is an continuous process of mind which is
essential to attain certain skills, knowledge and behaviour. It provides for various approaches
which helps in learning process of individuals. They are designed by various persons on the basis
of their own experience. Learning capacity of an individual is depend in the capacity of mind to
