MAIN BODY
1. How would I describe my own health?
My name is Emma Jones and I am 38 years woman with five kids of ages 12 years, 10
years, 7 years, 4 years and 18 months. Recently, my husband got separated from me and started
living nearby my home with another woman. This situation has led to adverse effects on the
overall upbringing of my kids who have become disoriented and detached from the worldly
connections. Moreover, it has taken a toll on my health in the worst manner. It has led to
spiralling mannerisms in my entire demeanour and my health. I started binging on food in
uncontrollable manner and also started making fuss out of certain things. Moreover, I gained
around two stones since my husband, Matt left me. I am in deep trouble due to this comfort
eating as I am not able to understand the events that are taking pace in my life. There is an
uncertain question mark on my future and that has left me in doldrums, and feeling like an empty
entity.
Furthermore, this also led to the path of depression and vacuum in my life. I started
working in part-time jobs but I felt like a burden. I couldn't take care of my kids properly. MY
eldest son started skipping classes whereas my another kid shoplifted and got caught. Lately, I
found a lump in my breasts and was hit by a jolt because it led to another darker road in my life.
Along with, one of the consultants refereed my case and suggested me to undergo surgery but I
decided to do it as being a day's patient. There were many worries I had in my mind, as how
would I continue my life because of my family's past records where I have had already lost my
Nan ten years ago along with my mother who was treated for it for another five years. Therefore,
it is evident that I am going through one of the toughest times of my life where I saw my love to
move to another woman and leaving me behind with my kids with the eldest one with the age of
12 years and the youngest as 18 months.
2. What does it take to remain healthy?
Health can be considered as one of the most important factor which ultimately affects
whole system of the human body (Chatterji and et.al., 2015). This is the process of being
physically and mentally free from all the illness which ultimately impacts on the life of the
people. A good health of the person helps in calming the minds of the person which makes them
feel free from all the anxieties, depression. Emma Jones works in a pub as a part-time worker
and half of the time she stays at home to spent some quality time with her family. But her

3. Write down your answers and then compare and discuss them with a friend or relative
I discussed it with my childhood friend who was equally surprised and sad as well. She
felt my loneliness and was empathetic towards my needs and offered her help to take up my kids
under her roof as I got a warning that they would be sent to foster child care. Moreover, she was
panicked that I was into such a depressing phase and gained so much weight that has affected my
health in such bad manner. She made me realise to look after myself in order to feed my kids and
give them a secured future so that they would never have to face such situations in their future.

significance of healthy lifestyle. Although I never smoked or drank in my life, yet somehow I got
this lump due to genetics and must hope that my kids do not have it. For this, my friend
recommended me to join a full-time job just like hers at a restaurant or somewhere else
(Drummond and et.al, 2015).
5. How are you different?
I am different because I am equally standing with my hardships when I was standing in
my good times. Moreover, I think that I have been always positive but was devastated as my
husband left me and moved nearby my home with another woman. My health was deteriorating,
yet I tried my level best to keep the well being of my kids in the best possible manner. I even fed
them on the day of operation, after doing all my chores in proper manner. Furthermore, I faced
great difficulty when I arrived the hospital, yet asked several people to find the directions and
contacted the nurse. I was anxious about my operation and also was worried how my kids would
pass the day in my absence.
6. Make a list and identify differences and commonalities, then discuss the reasons for them.
There were issues that shed light on the communication gap between me and the hospital. Along
with, there were few differences that included me having my breakfast of tea and biscuits.
However, I had to be empty stomach and I dint know as I failed to read the letter I received from
the hospital. Thus, they must be more approachable in making patient understand the
consequences and pre-treatment steps to be taken for recovery (Steptoe, Deaton and Stone,
2015).
