Standard 1: Know students and how they learn. Medium The student in the class represents a cosmopolitan population and the class
is divided into section, if considered from the learning point of view. I have
tried to understand the mentality of students by trying to motivate them
from different angle, but I feel there is kind of resistance from there. Not all
the students accept my attitude in a friendly way or the way I offer them.
Therefore, I think I need to build the techniques to know the students on the
academic terms. I think introduction reflective learning techniques needs to
be incorporated in the class, encouraging them to use hand signals or
incorporation of response card will allow me to understand in substance,
the things that they are learning. Group activities like choral readings or
think and pair tactics will enable me to understand the way they coordinate
within the group.
Standard 2: Know the content and how to teach it. High I plan my lesson before hand and follow the structure of my lesson plan.
Hardly do I deviate, that does not mean I do not allow the children to ask
question or be reflective in the class. I try to teach them effectively so that
they can function properly beyond the academic environment. I plan my
lecture in such a way so that I can engage students in a reflective learning.
However I feel there are certain sections of students who are little
indifferent in the classroom and I am trying my best to understand the
reason for their indifference. I have tried to encourage people individually
but since it is not working I will try to help them using class managing
strategies.
Standard 3: Plan for and implement effective teaching
and learning.
High I believe, the plan for effective teaching is formulated to suit the nature of
the class of students. The teaching strategies that I tend to use are giving
them individual assessment, think-pair strategies, small group work, mixed
group work, team teaching and so on. I have also incorporated the ‘Bloom’s
Taxonomy’, which can be a valuable strategy to encourage higher-order
though in the student by building the lower level cognitive thought. I plan to
encourage the students based on the competency to take part in the group
activate and also work individually. Owing to the Vygotsky idea of zone of
proximal development, there is tendency of the learners to learn by the
interaction with the person in approximate position. I also to incorporate

Standard 4: Create and maintain supportive and safe
learning environments.
high I try to maintain a supportive and safe environment in the class. Along with
the lesson plan I have also formulated stringent punishment for the ones
who offends the basic code of ethics. Owing to the gardener’s theory of
multiple intelligence, I have understood that content needs to be delivered
to them in a variety of modal ways so the I can ensure each different
learning styles are catered to. I need to plan in detailed fashion, were there
will be elaboration on timing, grouping, extension, activities and the regular
need to resources, which I will need to organise the lesson. Along with the
negative reinforcement, I have also device positive reinforcement strategies,
like praising or giving them, rewards would encourage them to create and
maintain supportive learning environment.
Standard 5: Assess, provide feedback and report on
student learning.
high The evaluative strategies that I have formulated are based on the
performance individually and the group demonstration. From my
experience, I have notices that children perform well individually, but the
decree of performance reduces as soon as they have perform in-group or in
pair. Therefore, I learnt to device group exercise in certain way so that it
enhances group collaboration and group cooperation.
Standard 6: Engage in professional learning. high The lesson plan that I have formulated involves practice and theoretical
knowledge for encouraging the learners through learn by experience. I have
device academic lesson plan and I also incorporate class activities by which
they can learn through experience discouraging rote learning. Professional
learning refers to when teacher encourages the children to learn by
stimulating their thinking and professional knowledge and encourage them
to learn in such a way that they are up to date. The only problem is when I
see there are children who are not cooperating with my effort. Initially I
planned to motivate them personally, but now I think I have use teaching
strategies to know the way they are perceiving things.
Standard 7: Engage professionally with colleagues,
parents/carers and the community.
medium Since I am too much devoted in my work, I barely get time to engage with
my colleague. Having said that I am not stating that I am not in talking terms
with my colleagues, because I do talk with them regarding the lesson plan or
so. In fact, there were times when they helped to understand the rule and
regulation of the school and helped me to overcome the hurdles that I
faced. However, I think I should spend some quality time with my colleague
too because I recognise the fact that informal communication also plays an
