ENTERPRISE ARCHITECTURE APPLICATIONS
Task 2.1: Stakeholders and Drivers
Stakeholder identification
The main stakeholder of ArchiFarm are the retailers, clients, employees, suppliers,
maintenance contractors and feed producers. The distributer contracted with the company is
involved for fetching and shipping the milks in refrigerated containers for wholesale. The
retailer takes the product from the distributer and wholesales to the local and the international
markets (Huang et al. 2015). There are many company employees and majority of the
consumer are the local consumer.
Drivers
There are many drivers that are responsible for gaining profit such as selection of the
suitable technology and management of the short terms as well as long term goals of the
organization. For the production site that not have the automated milking system the
production should be analysed for replacing the current system with the automated system.
The immediate replacement should be avoided the company should focus on the long term
goals by analysing the PLF technology, growth of the share market and maintenance cost of
the units (Chorafas 2016). The installation cost of the automated technology for the smaller
site should be analysed for analysing the return of investment and increase the efficiency of
the organization.
Goals
The project have the goal to stabilize the price and increase the productivity for each
of its site. The system is developed for the management of the contract with the supplier and
the distributer and analyse the suitability of the recent technology that can be applied for the
development of the information system.

Task 2.2: Business Functions
Identification of business function
The business function is responsible for increasing the production, sales and
distribution and it includes marketing, management of the human resources and application
of the right technology. The production is the main factor for the management of the growth
of the business and cattle’s and the farm animals should be cared for producing more milk.
The three sites of the company should be maintained and the contract given to the distributer
should be monitored for management of the wholesale (Sacala et al. 2017). Centralized
management of the business function helps in improvement of the site operation and
generation of report to the head office located at Sydney. The current issues in the business
process should be identified for addressing them individually for each of the sites and

improve the productivity of the organization. The sales, marketing and production should be
performed for the management of the needs of the organization.
The gaps in the communication should be identified and eliminated for the
improvement of the current framework of the organization (Aulkemeier et al. 2016). The
future needs of the organization should be analysed the gaps should be categorized as internal
and external with the context of the firm. After the identification of the gap it is eliminated
with involving the top level management.
The main gap identified for Archifarm is the labour cost and for the elimination of the
gap the labour cost and the efficiency of the labour are analysed for the management of the
feed centre. The operation and the labour cost should be considered such that the production
needs are met.
An external gap for the company is the sudden rise in demand should be analysed for
meeting the needs and maintaining a continuous growth of the organization. Recently the
demand of the milk and the dairy products have doubled in the Asian market in the past 30
years and for maintaining a sustainable growth the firm needs to grow the organization and
meet the increased needs (Ali 2017). The main functionality of the business are given in the
following diagram’.

Task 2.3: Business Processes
Identification of relevant business process
There are a series of steps that are should be executed for reaching the goals and
objectives of the organisation and it can be manual or automated process. The business
process identified for the ArchiFarm contains production, administration, operation,
performance management and procurement (Giachetti 2016). The following diagram is
created for demonstration of the Archimate business process.
The main aspect of business such as labour, finance, administration and marketing are
included and described below:
Aspect of labour – The flexibility of labour employment is necessary for the
management of the different task and the labour should be division according to the field of
specialization. Equal number of employees should be assigned for each of the sites and the
site manager is responsible for maintaining the construction (Skilton 2016). The challenges in
the human resource management should be identified such that the needs of the labours are
fulfilled and there is no shortage of workforce.
Aspect of production – For gaining higher level of output from the system the
production of milk should be increased. The company should be able to meet the demand of

the local and the international market and the automated management system of the farm
helps in maintaining quality with increase in the productivity (Ramadhani, Sam and Kalegele
2017). There are 2900 cows in the three sites and the milks should be processed quickly such
that the company becomes the leading exporter of milk.
Aspect of Management – The needed and the allocated resource for performing
different operation should be identified for manipulating the different needs and meet the
goals and objectives of the organization. The emerging issues should be identified for
increasing the flexibility and addressing the challenges of the organization. The climatic
changes should be forecasted and economic pressure and the demands should be forecasted
for management of the supply and increase the functionality of the business (Holm et al.
2014). The generation of periodic report on the production and sales helps in identification of
the growth of the organization and helps in creating proper planning for the management of
the business needs.
Aspect of Marketing – It is important top advertise the product for reaching more
number of customer and increase the brand value. The market regulation and the management
of the supply chain is essential for the regulation of the issues (Fulton and Port 2018). The
challenges in price and profit margins can be mitigated with proper marketing and reaching
the retailer directly.
Aspect of Motivation – For an instance the enterprise should focus on the mission and
vision statement such that more values can be added in the business. The managers is
responsible to imply new strategies for the establishment of the values and principle and drive
the employees to give their best effort for the organization (Mancini et al. 2017). The
motivation should follow some ethical standard such that it does not cause harm to the
environment and the other people related with the business.

Task 2.4: Information Architecture
The information architecture diagram is create for the demonstration of the flow of
information between the different process and the sub process for controlling the milking of
the animals. The information system helps in management of the feeds, health monitoring
and tracking the other activity of the animals. The health issues are recorded in the system
and text documents are used for maintaining the records that can be used in future for finding
issues with the animal health tracking system. The identification of ay problem with the
health condition of the cows activates the decision support system and a check-up is done on
the health condition (Taylor 2014). The prescribed drugs or medicine is added with the daily
feed for reviving the cows health. The attachment of the PLF technology with the current
system can improve the diagnosis and health condition at a prior stage and reduces the risk of
contamination and safeguard the other animals from being contaminated with the virus. It can
also automate the feeding of the animals after identification of the issue for the controlling
the production of milk (Addo-Tenkorang and Helo 2016). A screen is attached with the
control system that helps in controlling the feed manually in each of the three site of the
organization.

Task 2.5: Application Usage
There are different application and technology used in live stock management and
they are given below:
Automation technology – The use of the automated technology helps in reducing the
effort of the workgroup and reduce the error in the system. The feeding of the cows should be
automated for maintaining a diet and reducing the error for maintaining the feeding plan.
Robots – The main site should be installed with robots that can help in improvement
of the productivity of the milk station. It also reduce the manual task and reduces the effort of
the staffs (Rehman and Shamail 2014).
Milking system – It gets the health information of the cow and analyses the quantity
of milk that can be extracted from the cow and operates according to the gathered data. The

productivity can be predetermined for generating a supply report and management of the
production.
Software Tools – It is used for gathering the data from the different component and
produce a auto generated report after the analysis of the situation. The tool can also help in
management of the feeding and monitoring the health condition of the cows. It can also help
in adjusting the feeding according to the health condition and provide medicine to the animals
at a proper time.
PLE – Using this technology the health of the cows can be tracked and it can be used
for development of a health monitoring system driven by data. Different sensors are used for
the development of the system and sensors are attached with the cows body for generating
information (O'Grady and O'Hare 2017). The information are gathered and an analysis is
made for the getting the health information and predicting the milk production from the cow.
The information is stored in the information system database and used for milking the cow.
Task 2.6: Application Cooperation
For the automation of the current business process the different sub components
should be combined to work unitedly and generate the report for the management of the
business process. Data is collected from different sources for the management of the flow of
the process and information. Different application are used for management of the data and
align with the business needs. The Milking station, Health monitoring and generation of error
report are combined for the automation of the system and centralize the livestock

management (SUHAIMI et al. 2016). Reporting application tool and PLF technology is
applied for the management of the cows activity. Predictive analytics are applied for the
management of the potential problem and earlier identification of the error in the system.
Accelerometer which depicts equipped ear tags that have become prevalent on dairy farms
are significantly aiding farmers track their herds` health status, detect pregnancies and
illnesses early which allows for early treatment of diseases (Brian, 2015). The quality of
feeding should also be controlled for getting uniform production and meet the current
demands of milk and other milk products.
Task 2.7: Data Dissemination
The dissemination of the data is essential for maintain a centralized control on the
whole live stock management system. Data is gathered from the IoT devices and sensors
installed with the cows and it is analysed for generating customized reports. The software
tools are used for the management of the data and align the management process based on the
generated reports. The reports and the results of the diagnosis are used for controlling the
feeding and analysis of the current health condition of the cows (Fulton and Port 2018). The
infected cow is identified and isolated for eliminating the risk of contamination and the
record is updated and stored in the central server for diagnosis of the issues in the current
