Chapter 10
With help of this chapter, it was evaluated that architecture is essential and is very
important for the effective working. With this it was seen that Le Corbusier was born in Swiss
watchmaking town of La Chaux De Fonds in 1887. Further it clearly outlined that there is impact
of Art Nouveau because they do decoration of different chalet like structures. Moreover, the
Jeanneret design relating to art school was useful and it emphasised over cubes and pyramid
along with Egyptian architecture. In addition to this, attitude of Jeanneret was that tradition was
far away from superficial copyist. Further, Le Corbusier found that primary forms of architecture
are pyramid, Pantheon, Roman bath, Mansart, Pont du Gard and many others. Further it was
outlined that Maison La Roche or Jeanneret was designed just like the architectural ideas of Le
Corbusier’s idea. This idea stands for the end of cul- de- sac and the L- shaped plan fits best
within the two sides of the oblong. Further within this, windows are also set flush with the façade
plane for effecting the thin skin wrapped tautly.
Chapter 16
This chapter outlines the fact that plan is to determine and fix the idea and these ideas must
be intelligible, capable and communicable. Within his chapter, the first impression outlined the
horizontal white box is set off against the rural surrounding as well. Along with this it was
evaluate that main facade is blank and this gives impression that analysing the symmetrical
building is created.
Chapter 23
Le Corbusier was an influential architect and city planner. He was the one to produce a

expressions. His contribution in mechanical slaughter of the Second World War was an
inspiration. He was part of clean geometric forms and open efficient spaces to of the greatest
contribution to architecture.
Chapter 24
The Unite d'habitation is building in the outskirts of Marseilles. It is a textured cliff
towering above a dry landscape with artistic works made of scrub, rocks and trees. It has 23

different apartment types and has the element of standard and combination of different factory
produced units that are slotted in overall lattice of the building's structure.
Chapter 14
This chapter deals with searching new ways of life relating to modern architecture of the
year 1920 and is re- planning the industrial city. These plan generally involved ambition of
building the world as whole new and improve the industrial look. Moreover, it outlined that the
urban proposal is also countering with the various pressure of industrial change. Further it was
outlined that in case of Europe there are number of changes created and that need to be followed.
Along with this, Garden city principle was also used in order to transform the industrial practices
and this Garden City was re- thought and restructured using the latest techniques. On the other
hand, the chapter also outline that Tafuri suggested that future of building was the Golden age
and this need to be attained in any condition. Also, a similar kind of thing was suggested that
Expressionist was used in different block design and this was good for development of
architecture.
Chapter 18
Nature itself contributes to the works of the human however in itself it is not able to adapt
to become an art. This is the reason why the relations between nature and machine has been
shown to be collaboration that builds symbolic arts like Villa Savoye. This combination of nature
and machine negatively affects the nature.
Chapter 19
The history of architecture has been linked heavily with Britain. The modern architecture
was one of the biggest concern for Britain. Period between 1910 and 1930 was known as
Regency revival or the era. This was the time of experiments in the Arts and the Scandinavians
brought vital architecture which was out of fashion.
Chapter 22
The result of the international trade was in the modernization in which USA became the
major city of industrialization concepts. Migration to USA was very common concept that lead
to movement of architecture to begin virtual imagination from the scratch. This is a good deal of
modern architecture was from USA.

Chapter 25
Alvaro Aalto was the person to bring design and architecture into the furniture. He
brought inspiration into the world for bring architecture into furniture. Although the
Scandinavians development was in the modern design that enjoyed the vogue in 1950 with
different artefacts like wooden salad bowl and organic banisters.
