This report undertakes a comparative analysis of urban architecture within the Brisbane suburbs of Nundah and Chermside, focusing specifically on the architectural element of parks. The study identifies the similarities, unique characteristics, and the impact of these parks on their respective suburban contexts. The report details the locations of parks in each suburb, highlighting features such as Boyd Park, Nundah Memorial Park, and Kalinga Park in Nundah, and 7th Brigade Park in Chermside. It explores the positive impacts of these parks, including environmental benefits, contributions to health and well-being, and their role as community centers. The report also examines negative impacts such as pollution and misuse. Furthermore, it uses normative and functional theories to identify unique features and characteristics of the parks, such as habitat restoration sites and cultural heritage sites in Nundah, and stormwater collection and community facilities in Chermside.
