I was educated about the significance of the environment as a youngster and why we
should not pollute the globe. Now that I'm older, I realize how important the earth is to our
survival. Because it removes poisons that damage our bodies, the earth is accountable for a
necessary healthy life. The globe is warming, and we must take action to avert climate change to
benefit our coming generations. Furthermore, because the earth is our home and the only livable
world we have, we must care for it.
Climate change is something I believe in for a healthier lifestyle and a better society.
Climate change, commonly known as global warming, was a contentious topic for years, with
life-threatening consequences for civilization. When it comes to the environment, people have a
variety of emotions. Some people feel concerned and guilty, while others opt to disregard it
because they care less about the earth. Some people believe that global warming is a democrats'
political goal, a hoax, or disproportional untruth and propaganda spread by the media (Hayhoe,
2016). Regardless of one's views on climate change, everyone knows the long-term global
warming trend that has had a severe impact on the lives of animals and people. The loss of
thousands of ecosystems and houses in California due to catastrophic wildfires and the
devastation wrought by Typhoons in Puerto Rico are illustrations of recent occurrences that have
made it difficult to ignore the issue of climate change.
Whenever climate change comes up in conversation, many people either shriek or ignore
the topic or pull on their combat gloves and prepare for a furious debate. Some people are guilty
and concerned, while others are unconcerned (Hayhoe, 2016). Diverse points of view lead to
differing perspectives on the subject. While some may claim ignorance of the subject, global
warming and significant figures demonstrating annual increases in global heat have been widely
disseminated through the media and debated in institutions and seminars throughout the world.

Although some undeveloped countries may be unaware of climate change or how individuals
contribute, the industrialized nations that are the primary contributors are well educated about the
situation. People who can act and make changes to safeguard the environment, in my opinion,
should do so instead of pretending to be foolish and turning a blind eye as the world as they
perceive it crumbles beneath their feet.
Furthermore, people who deny climate change is happening are often unaware of the
risks associated with uncontrolled climate change. The consequences of the frustration of not
curbing global warming, on the other hand, are numerous and severe. One effect is the
obliteration of civilization as we know it due to a growing number of catastrophic disasters.
Some people do not believe that tiny heat changes may result in catastrophic natural disasters,
although there is ample evidence. Tropical storms are well known for forming exclusively over
warm seas, from which they gain energy, mostly from the latent heat of compression. As a result,
it would not be surprising if a warmer and wetter Earth saw more widespread storm occurrences.
This indicates that the threat of larger global disasters is extremely real and not as far as many
people believe. If humanity continues to advance unrestrainedly, the future may bring
temperatures that are more than a few degrees higher than average and exponentially more
severe storms.
Some detractors say global warming is a Democrat-created political agenda, media hype,
or a hoax rather than a serious threat (Hayhoe, 2016). The critics of climate change regard it in
the same light as the weather. They are oblivious to the fact that they are two distinct entities.
While some people mistake climate change with the weather, others assume it merely refers to
increasing temperature over time. On the other hand, climate change encompasses more than just
rising temperatures; it also includes shifting biodiversity and ecosystems, severe storms, and

rising oceans. Someone who does not believe in global warming also says that it is natural for its
climate to alter or vary. They are oblivious that even the tiniest change in temperature or climate
has a negative influence on the earth. We now see greater warming on land than in the seas and
oceans, and severe rainstorms have grown more common. Despite the obvious indications, many
skeptics continue to deny the presence of unique climate change signs (Hayhoe, 2016). As a
result, climate change is real, and humans contribute to the problem. Statistics acquired by
experts on greenhouse effects provide evidence of global warming. It may also be observed in
the costs of dealing with climate change-related events like hurricanes. Critics who deny climate
change think that the earth's temperature varies naturally and that climate is akin to seasonal
weather. We may, however, overcome the issue by being a part of the answer and
acknowledging global warming as a significant concern. We may also take different mitigation
and adaptation measures, including enacting regulations, utilizing renewable energy, and
reducing our reliance on carbon. Ending global warming would safeguard us and the atmosphere,
providing a healthy, sustainable environment.
One strategy to ensure social sustainability is to take care of the environment. Many
people believe that successful sustainable development solely entails balancing environmental
and economic concerns. However, I think that having sustainable development requires
addressing social sustainability and balancing environmental and economic sustainability
(Women, 2014). Gender impacts how individuals perceive and react to climate change (Lau et
al., 2021). This is especially true in underdeveloped countries, where men and women respond to
environmental shocks differently. Men are more inclined to relocate to pursue precarious and
unreliable work, whereas women labor harder and longer under lower conditions. According to
the literature on global warming and sexism in the middle to low countries, many problematic

assumptions still plague climate change policy and research in poor and middle-income nations.
These preconceptions hamper the goal of gender equality. They do so by misidentifying the
disparities and promoting inefficient but appealing measures.
Gender equality is also a women's concern in many climate change strategies and
programs. On the other hand, environmental initiatives can promote gender inequity if they are
not carefully planned (Elwell & Williams, 2016). In 2015, for example, a study looked at the
UN's REDD+ initiatives in six countries (Elwell & Williams, 2016). According to the study,
most initiatives defined gender parity as women's involvement in pilot projects. In Cameroon, for
instance, where women by now lack safe access to woodlands and biases and informal
norms frequently prevent women from being invited to forest oversight meetings, this
involvement equates to ladies simply being passive listeners instead of having an active say in
government about the implementation and design of initiatives.
Furthermore, environmental stewardship and gender stewardship go hand in hand. The
majority of individuals believe that gender equality has little to do with social or environmental
well-being. Gender equality, on the other hand, might have a significant positive influence on
environmental and social well-being (Lau et al., 2021). Women, in reality, play an active role in
conservation and restoration. The evidence relating to gender equality and improved
environmental results has been growing worldwide. Women in the legislature, in particular, are
more capable of setting aside protected fields and signing global organizations accords in nations
with more women in parliament. There is a link between gender and the environment; when
gender disparity is high, so are forest decline, pollution, and other indicators of environmental
deterioration. Some think that involving women effectively is all about avoiding unpleasant
outcomes. But involving women successfully is about more than simply avoiding bad

repercussions. Women are effective participants in restoration and conservation because their
caregiving obligations and livelihood activities are frequently heavily dependent on agriculture.
Gender has a role in climate change in a variety of ways. Several assumptions are
frequently made that mislead our understanding of climate change. Most people believe that men
and women are two separate groups (Lau et al., 2021). However, there are numerous distinctions
between genders. The circumstances of an elderly widow, for example, are likely to be very
different from those of a youth, unmarried lady.
Similarly, men's demands may differ based on their race or socioeconomic background.
The other presumption is that women are inherently compassionate and environmentally
conscious. Believing this premise implies that women are burdened with the task of saving their
ecosystems, families, and communities. In climate adaptation or mitigation, female labor is
tripled or doubled. However, To achieve sustainable development, it is necessary to balance a
sustainable environment and prioritize social sustainability.
It's far simpler to dismiss what's going on with global warming, especially when the
consequences aren't immediately apparent. However, if we continue to ignore the planner, the
negative changes already occurring in some places of the globe will grow more common and
eventually harm everyone. Furthermore, every day that we disregard the globe, we endanger
various animal species. According to scientists, increasing temperatures in the Polar Regions are
causing white bears to go extinct.
To conclude, there are many reasons why I believe we should take care of our planet.
Firstly, the threat of larger global disasters is extremely real and not as far as many people
believe. The consequences of the frustration of not curbing global warming, on the other hand,

are numerous and severe. On the other hand, environmental initiatives can promote gender
inequity if they are not carefully planned. One strategy to ensure social sustainability is to take
care of the environment. Additionally, if we continue to ignore the planner, the negative changes
already occurring in some places of the globe will grow more common and eventually harm
everyone.
