Multiculturalism in Canada Lost Its Way?’ and critically analyse in the respect of the article
the different perspective of the factor of multiculturalism that the author has proposed in the
due course of the essay.
The perspective of multiculturalism as it has been proposed by the author I the due
course of the essay is not limited to the notion of the multiculturalism being factors of
differences. The factors involved are even greater than the ones imagined. According to the
author, multiculturalism is about the common aspect that people from different context
nurture between them. In the response of the author, such aspect of multiculturalism dissolves
when the factors of it are considered as foreign in respect to the context of the other and the
identity of an immigrant is imposed upon them (huffingtonpost.ca, 2013).
In the context of Canada multiculturalism is looked upon as the equal rights that are
being provided to people irrespective of the cultural differences they belong from. However,
the perspective of different people in terms of multiculturalism is varied. For some people it
is the abundance of the funding from the government that allows one to practice the religion
of one’s choice (huffingtonpost.ca, 2013).
In the opinion of the critics, multiculturalism is looked upon as the ability of the
community to ‘ghettoize’ the other community specially the one belonging to the Canadian
society. As such the importance of the scenario is to increase the discussion on the factors of
multiculturalism. As such the important factors of multiculturalism is located in the sharing

this wider domain. Another important aspect of multiculturalism can be noted in the legal
framework. By incorporating, greater framework into the legal domain it can be noted that
the perspective of the differential voices is being noted with due respect. As such the
understanding can be extended in order to realise that in the countries with a singular culture
might appear cohesive but in core, they are intolerant to the perspective of the minority’s
voices. Though, from the perspective of the multiculturalism it can be said that the situations
of the country nurturing multiculturalism can turn up in a messed-up situation, however, it
can be said that the allows the country to set up a coherent condition of the state
(huffingtonpost.ca, 2013).
Thus, after having the discussion it can be said that multiculturalism is a crucial
aspect in guiding the nature of functioning of the state where they are present. As such the
strength of the state is hidden in its ability to harness the power of multiculturalism by
adopting the commonality of the multicultural aspect as well as exhibiting respect to the
differences.
