1POLITICS AND LIBERALISM IN CANADA
One of the most important issues which is being seen in the world in the present times
is the demand for liberalism in various Governments and countries in the world itself. The
term liberalism refers to the beliefs or the ideals which would focus on the subject matter of
equality in ala levels for all the members of a society itself. This has been the case in the
country of Canada and Quebec which has been facing the problems related to liberalization
itself. This essay will find out about the liberalization in the country of Canada and Quebec.
The purpose of this is essay is to make a review of the article which is related to
the concept of liberalization in the country of Canada and Quebec itself.
Liberalization is one of the most important concerns that is being faced by the
Governments of Canada and that of Quebec itself is the concept of liberalization, which is
causing problems in the country itself. This is because as it is stated by the authors of the
article itself mentioned in the Charter of Quebec values introduced in the year 2013 about the
restrictions it placed on the practitioners of the minority religious symbols in the country
itself.
“A number of scholars have proposed different categories to make sense of those
distinct interpretations: procedural and substantive liberalisms (Taylor, 1994),
enlightenment and reformation liberalisms (Galston, 1995), or British and French
liberalisms.” (248)
The authors of the article informs the readers about the various types of liberalism
which an individual would find in the concepts of liberalisms in the country itself. The
authors in the article also mentions about hew various social movements that have been
organized in the country to ensure that the liberalization can be obtained for the minority
religious symbols in the country itself. The authors in the article mentions about the concept

2POLITICS AND LIBERALISM IN CANADA
Thus, it can be said that it is through the use of this article itself that the authors want
to draw the attention of the readers to the issue of the liberalization in this part of the country.
“Another potential source of difference is the cultural insecurity of Quebecers.” (251)
The article is indeed important because it lets the readers of the article know about the
importance of liberalization and how it affects the people who are not a part of the major
religious groups in the country itself. The cultural threat is also another point which needs to
be considered by the readers themselves. This is because of the fact that people of the region
cannot seem to accept the people belonging from different cultures and having different
religions itself. This leads to the restrictions of the religious rights of these groups which
leads to the demand for liberalization.
Thus from the above discussions, it can be concluded that the liberalization of the
religious minorities in the country of Canada and that of Quebec itself. The liberalization
should itself be imposed in the country itself so that all types of religious beliefs in the
country can be treated equally by the people of the country itself. That is what the message of
the article to the readers is.
