Hospitality industry is wide in nature and having broad category within service sector
it includes event planning, lodging, theme parks, travelling, cruise line and additional field in
the tourism industry (Bradbury and O'Boyle, 2017). Client within this assignment is Artist
Residence Brighton which is facing management problem. This report is designed for solving
these management issues by applying proper theory. Along with the time required for
resolving these issues will be discussed. System management theory will be implemented in
the working of respective hotel for resolving their challenges in effective manner.
MAIN BODY
1. Range of managerial challenges within hospitality sector
Hospitality industry is wide in nature there are several challenges which can be face
by Artist residence while working in competitive business environment. Explanation of these
are as follow :-
Security challenges – This is one of the major issues facing by the guest of respective
hotel and everyone want proper security when they are travelling. It is related to
general theft or other crime, terrorism, Credit card fraud, racial discrimination, risk of
food poisoning and many others.
Cleanliness issues – It is a management problem because of not proper skilled staff
lodging rooms are not clean, eco-friendly as well as in spacious condition. All these
result in unsatisfied guest. Because people are more aware about their hygiene and
cleanliness.
These are the major management challenges facing by Artist Residence and they have
to work on it for sustaining in competitive environment as well as building their brad
image within market of United Kingdom.
2. Critically analyse management theory, analyse and interpret a variety of complex industry-
specific managerial problems and issues
For solving challenges there is requirement of implementing management theory in
the working of Artist Residence. So that security as well as cleanliness challenges will be
resolved by the company because these are the major issues which give wide impact on the
brand image within market area (Viglia, Pelloia and Buhalis, 2018). Moreover, for the system
management theory is suitable due to its alternative approach to planning and management of
company. Time requirement and major steps required are as follows :-
Security challenges – this is one of the biggest issue which give negative impact on
the image of hotel. It require proper security department within hotel which take
almost 4 to 5 months in entire setup. Security issue require proper attention because if
any guest will face this problem then it will give negative impact on the brand image
of Artist Residency and result in decreasing their sales.

division to take care of entire hotel cleanliness and there is requirement of 10 to 15
days. Hygiene is the one of the most required thing by everyone so it is responsibility
of Artist Residence to take care of their guest and provide them better services.
