they can retain and manage the more talented employees in their company (Pramanik, Mondal,
and Haldar, 2020). In order to retain more talented workers in the organization it is the
responsibility of the company to manage the workers and their activities in an effective manner
so that they can motivate their workers and retain more talented employees in the company will
stop the major purpose of the human resources management department is to recruit more skilled
and talented workers in the company so that they can improve the capabilities and efficiency of
the organization in order to achieve their goals and objectives. Marketplace the competition level
has been so it is become very important and essential for the company to manage Their

ASDA Limited is a British Supermarket Chain and the headquarters of the organization is
situated in Leeds England (Dansoh, Oteng, and Frimpong, 2017). The organization was founded
in 1949 and they merged their business with Dairies Company of Yorkshire. In addition to this
the organization provides a variety of the product and services in the Marketplace so that they
can achieve their goals and objectives. The product and services which are provided by the
organization like online shopping facility fresh groceries clothing home appliances insurance and
more .the organization is founded in 1980 and the founders of the organization is Noel
Stockdale, J.W Hindell.

As per the view point of Jury, 2018, ASDA is a multinational organization who has their
major operations in the retail market of United Kingdom. The UK retail market is among the
most dynamic markets of the world in which consumers has great demand for the products and
customer experience related to the retail market. In order to provide great customer experience to
the users it is essential to provide essential transformations that are required to attain competitive
advantage. In this digital era, it is essential to develop the organization technologically so that the
company can be able to effectively establish their retail operations. The company has a planning
to provide digital transformation to their customers in order to enhance the services and the
customer experience at their supercenters small supermarkets and super stores in United
Kingdom. This digital transformation has arose the concept of workplace transformation in
which it is essential to provide required training to the employees related to the transformation
that has to be bring in the organization (Sankaran, Vaagaasar, and Bekker, 2019). In order to
bring workplace transformation at ASDA the companies required to effectively manage the

changes that comes in the organization due to the transformation. This is the basic concept which
includes in the workplace transformation.
How the external events can create impact on the workplace transformation at ASDA
organization
As per the view point of Turner, 2018, the external environment includes various factors which
can affect the successful transformation of the organization. The bargaining power of
consumer’s, suppliers, danger of substitute products in the market and competition can affect the
growth and development of the company in their transformation process (Ravankar, Imai, and
Ravankar, 2019). All these are the external events which can create a significant impact on the
workplace transformation especially at the most dynamic market of United Kingdom that is retail
market in which ASDA operates. In order to plan workplace transformation the management of
the company is required to consider the events that can occur in the external environment during

Company due to the external events which create problem in the functioning of the company.
The most common challenge that has been seen in the retail market and included in the external
event which has a great impact on the functioning of ASDA is the covid-19 (Sarhadi, Yousefi,
and Zamani, 2018). And it has broken down the business affairs of every organization so does
also affect the functioning of the ASDA which is the major challenge that has been faced by the
organization from the external environment. In order to deal this challenge the company is
required to fulfill all the government rules and regulations in their organization to attract more
and more customers towards their organization.
Performance management plan
Performance management plan refers to the plan that helps research to complete in a
document format and accomplish their goals and objectives of the project. Performance
management plan of a project helps like a road map to the project in which all the task has
provided a particular time period in which they are need to be accomplished and helps to achieve
the set target in the proper time with the proper plan. There are several variants of a performance

management plan which includes the work breakdown structure and Gantt chart that is required
for performance management and some of the components are explained below:
Time: Time is a very important variant of measuring the performance of a project as it is
essential to deliver the research on the decided time line (Vincent, and Maharaj, 2018). All the
task are divided in accordance to the deadlines of the research and needs to be complete within a
proper time which helps to provide better results for the project.
Quality: A project is required to be completed in effective manner in which quality plays a very
important role. In order to find the conclusion of the result it is essential to complete the research
in a qualitative manner which can be possible with the help of both primary as well as secondary
sources of data collection.
Communication: In order to complete any project communication is very essential between the
project leader and the team members of the project. This research project is required to have
effective communication between the researcher and employees of the ASDA so that effective
data can be collected.
Risk: Risk is involved in in every step of the project and in order to complete the research in
effective manner it is essential to analyze the uncertainty is that can arise in future to make
effective plans for the project by considering the risk factors that are involved in the research.
Resource: The completion of the research project is required to use several resources that are
essential and it is also essential to check their availability (Liu, Pauli, and Johansson, 2020). For

Gantt charts and work breakdown structure and different stages so that they can be able to
complete the project in effective manner. Both the Gantt charts and work breakdown structure

Gantt chart: It refers to a tool that helps a research to record all the activities that are essential
to complete the research project. This Gantt chart helps to complete the task by walking on them
on the decided time so that the goals of the research project can be accomplished effectively
without duplication of work and providing clarity. Preparation of Gantt chart in a research
project helps to eliminate duplication and provides clarity towards the task that are required to be
completed for the research project for stop the Gantt chart for the above project has been given
below:
Work breakdown structure: Work breakdown structure is an effective tool that helps an
organization to divide their work in a small activities so that it can be effectively a located to
every individual of the organization (Manurung, and Kurniawan, 2021). .ASDA Company also
uses the work breakdown structure to manage their work in their staff members so that they can
be able to achieve their goals and objectives of the work in effective manner. It is necessary to
divide the complete work in smaller parts to reduce the chances of conflicts and provide roles
and responsibilities to each individual that are connected with the project. The work breakdown

structure for the purpose of this project in context of talent management and transformation of
the company are given below:
Quantitative and qualitative methods
Qualitative method: The qualitative approach of data collecting is one that focuses on gathering
high-quality data in order to obtain the best possible result. This data collection approach focuses
on the theoretical elements of gathering information and data from sources such as books and
journals, among others (Islam,2019). In qualitative research, the data is given in the form of a
literature review, with appropriate citations to the resources utilized to obtain the data for the
review. Because it cannot be assessed in numbers or any other statistical data, the information
gathered in this study is qualitative.
Qualitative methods: The quantitative method of data collecting considers data that has been
acquired in the form of numerical information for statistical data that can be quantified in
numerical terms. Various numerical information is obtained during data collection in this
technique of data collection, which may be compared and corrected because it lacks a theoretical
element. There are various instances where quantitative data aids the investigation in reaching a
satisfactory conclusion. It is up to the researcher and the sort of research to determine whether or
not quantitative data will be included in the study.

For this study, both techniques of data collecting were used: a literature review was given
using various sources such as books, articles, websites, and journals, and a survey was done
using a questionnaire, which allowed the resources to offer quantitative data.
Primary sources: When a researcher wants to obtain raw and fresh information from the market
and does not want to rely on already published material, the sneakers primary sources comprise

Recommendations
The company is required to use a greater technology in the organization to make the workplace
digitally transformed and provide effective training to their employees related to the digital
technology.
 Proper training and development sessions should be provided to the employees so that
they feel comfortable with the technology that has been used in the organization and feel
motivated with the use of the technology in the market.
 The company has an opportunity to expand their operations with the help of digital
technology and providing their products with the online channels. The company is
required to promote their products in effective manner so that they can be able to supply
their products getting online orders for the business.
 The use of digital technology will help the company in using machine learning to project
the demand with the proper calculation of its impact on the business so that the company

can be able to reduce their waste and manage their inventory. This will be the major
benefit that can be used by ASDA with the help of digital transformation and it will also

Several challenges has been faced by me during the completion of the project because of the
lack of information that has been collected from the respondents. It is very difficult for me to
collect information from the respondents and fulfill the ethical considerations of the project.
And other challenge that has been faced by me for the purpose of this project is to prepare the
finding and analysis section of the project as it does not consider the feelings of the general
people from whom the information has been collected (Kurpjuweit, and Wagner, 2020).
