Introduction
In order to be an authentic teacher, it is pivotal to educate students not only mentally
but also compassionately. The caliber of a revered teacher lies in his or her ability to interact
with students both mentally, physically and on a solicitous level.
Thesis Statement
The objective of the paper is to discuss few paramount points supporting the thesis:
“A good teacher is someone who is not only knowledgeable but are compassionate towards
their students”
Body
Main Point 1
In accordance with Göncz’s views, being assertive is an essential attribute of a bona
fide teacher, which enables the teacher to accumulate the attention of the students to manage
them accordingly. Assertiveness should also inculcate compassion in certain situations to
make the teacher approachable to the students, as “It is the responsibility of a teacher for
controlling their classroom in a positive attitude.” (Göncz, 2017).
Main Point 2
“Professionalism needs to be maintained and teacher should try to listen and talk
about topics that are beside course studies” (Lee et al., 2015). Teachers should maintain an
amicable relation with students for understanding them and treating their concerns
accordingly. In order to make lessons interesting, teachers can include fascinating facts and
new teaching methods.
