particular research is been based on. It has been analysed that to conduct research on a particular
project or a topic, it must meet two criteria that includes as the methodology must be appropriate
in order to achieve targeted objectives and second it must be made possible in order to replicate
methodology that is being used for same nature but in other resources.
Research philosophy- it is the vast topic that helps in dealing with source, nature and
also development in terms of knowledge (Björkman and Welch, 2015). It is also known as belief
about various ways where the data has to be collected about a particular process. Further, it has
to be analysed and used in that particular process. It is the most important element for them who
are actually seeking for a particular position in a job. It is also known as summary of research
experience and also interest that includes past endeavours and also of present and future. It can
be positivism or interpretivism. Positivism are termed as those that are highly structured and that
which depends on quantifiable observations that leads in analysing the one that are statistical in
nature. While interpretive are that which involves researcher for interpreting elements. Thus, the
project manager of Tesco uses Interpretivism Research Philosophy. As it usually focus on
meaning and may also help in employing multiple methods that leads in reflecting different
aspects of issue.
Research Approach- This is a plan that involves various type of steps of detailed
method that are basically included in order to collect data regarding particular project
(Marchington, 2015). Thus, the main distinctive points between deductive and inductive
approaches are relevance of hypotheses to the study. Deductive approach is the one that leads in
testing validity of assumptions in hand. While inductive approach contributes if there is
emergence of new theories or any generalisations. Thus, it does not involve hypotheses
formulation and starts with research question and an aim that has to be met while research
process. Therefore, project manager of Tesco uses Inductive approach. Thus, it begins with
specific observation or inference. It also helps in analysing assessments in an accurate way.
Research Design- Research design is defined as a choice that is between qualitative and
quantitative research methods. It is also known as choice between specific methods in terms of
data collection and analysis. In simple way, it is termed as the general plan about what has to be
done in order to answer the questions related to research. Further, important element that has
been involved in research design includes research strategies and methods in relation with data
analysis and its collection. Thus, it is divided into two groups Exploratory and conclusive. The

4

main aim of exploratory is to explore specific aspects of research area rather than providing final
and conclusive answers to the questions related to research. While, conclusive research design is
applied for creating ideas that are used in order to conclude or to make any type of decisions.
Exploratory research design is adopted by Tesco. Thus, this type of research design helps in
finding out possible ways that may help in achieving decision making goals.
Data collection- It is that process which helps in collecting information from all sources
that are relevant in finding answers to problems (Marchington, Wilkinson, Donnelly and
Kynighou, 2016). It also helps in testing hypothesis and evaluating outcomes. Data collection is
further divided into two methods that include primary method and secondary method. Primary
method of data collection helps in gathering data by observing person, interviews, questionnaires
etc. thus, secondary method is one that is already published in books, newspapers, magazines,
journals, online portals etc. therefore, the project manager uses both methods in order to collect
information regarding project. Questionnaires method has been used in order to collect
information from employees.
Data Analysis- there are two types involved in order to analyse the data. The types
involved are qualitative and quantitative data analysis (Shaikh, 2015). In qualitative type of
analysing particular data, interviews, focus groups and experiments are used by researcher. Thus,
in quantitative type of data analysis, critical analysis is done along with interpretation of figures
and numbers behind the actual findings. In addition to this, discussion about common patterns
and also about various controversies within secondary data is included that is directly related to
the areas where research is conducted. Hence, the cited company Tesco uses Qualitative data
analysis. As it helps in complexities of data that are incorporated into generated solutions and
they have selected 20 employees of Tesco.
Sampling- this term is explained as principle that is specifically used in selecting
members of population that is needed to be included in a particular study. There are two types of
categories that us involved in sampling as probability and non probability. Further, in technique
of probability sampling, each member is the population has a non zero chance of participating.
This includes such methods that are actually simple, stratified systematic, multistage and cluster
sampling. On the other hand, in non probability sampling technique, the employees that are
involved in a group are selected in non-random -manner. So no one has a chance of participating
in a study. This method includes methods as purposive, quota, convenience and snowball

resources. Gantt chart is also created to provide time frames and stages for completion. Further,
in this report research method has developed to meet project aims and objectives. Analysis is
also created to find project outcomes with research data with proper tools and technique. Further,
in this report reflection is provided on the research to meet overall objectives with own learning
and performance. After presenting this reporting lastly it can be concluded that globalisation of
organisation has only benefited overall economy of the countries and also provided new
challenges regarding elimination of jobs, income inequality, culture, sovereignty and

Some recommendations
From the above presentation, some recommendation are there to overcome with challenges
provided by multinational companies to host countries. There are many impacts which has
created by multinational companies. For which local organisations of the host country has to
develop effective policies by which they will able to face new challenges which given by
multinational companies.
The main factor which affected by multinational companies is jobs and wages. Under this
factor country is facing exploitation of workers in developing countries, elimination of jobs, and
also lower wages in developing countries. To overcome with this issue local companies of
developing countries has to developed effective employee needs so that individuals will only get
attracted in local companies. Developed countries are facing elimination of jobs because

Government also have to develop policies of working by which other companies did not get
affected by multinational companies in nations.
Another issue which faced is culture, sovereignty and environment. To regulate business
in China, Tesco has to developed China's working culture to affect the countries customers in
their organisation. Tesco's working culture is totally different from China's working culture
therefore to overcome with this issue marketing managers of the Tesco company have to do
effective research by which they will able to meet culture, environment of China and overall
helps them to increase their profitability of company.
P7 Reflection on value and research undertaken by to meet objectives
In accordance with study on where focus was to determine benefit by Tesco to Chine as
host country it is identified that financial performance of Tesco is tremendous and leading t
successful business operation across the globe (Chen, Tang and Feldmann, 2015). There are
various challenges faced by host country because of social, economic and political factors but the
firm is able to managing successful business operation via sustainable performance. In my
opinion research methodology play crucial role in data collection and analysis because it acts as
a base for the study. I feel research methodology enabled systematic way of conducting study
and helped in accomplishing research objectives.
Further, I explored various aspects which are incorporated in study to address research
objectives like effect of culture and society of chin. In addition, it was interesting to evaluate the
importance of improving financial performance in order to establishing control over global
operation of business. On the other hand, I analyzed there are wide range of research
methodological tools which could have been implied for making research more specific like
positivism philosophical concept in which the research would have been able to evaluate
concepts of changing facts of host and home county. Moreover, positivism philosophy offers
quantifiable results in numerical form which enables logical and analytical reasoning. I feel
implication of interpretiism was also a thought plan because the topic is of human interest and
therefore helped in gaining understand over human mind over research aim and objectives
(Nayar, 2012).
Apart from this, I feel research helped in boosting my knowledge and concepts over
developing aim and objectives of study on the basis of topi. Initially it was difficult for me to
frame objectives on the basis of one line aim but now I feel I learned that research objectives can
