training

observation and so on. A person may make use of this during presentation of their lessons. They
might even utilise initial assessment. It is conducted at the initial stage before starting the

During my practice, I ensure to carry out an initial assessment to acknowledge where can
be the learners be placed within the EYFs age band. This will provide assistance to me in
creating an individual learning plan for the learners. Within nursery, there is a child that lacks
proper language and communication skills which largely affects her development and growth
process. This mainly takes place because she finds difficulty in expression her views and

1.5- Analyse the effectiveness of assessment methods in relation to meeting the
individual needs of learners
The educator will be having several activities preplanned in accordance with the distinct
types of learners. Also, the teacher will have to take into due consideration the merit and demerit
of each of the assessments in order to make sure that the right kind of assessment is selected for
the learners. The teacher will think about the selection of assessment at the time of the stage of
planning as this is identified to be the phase whereby educator begins to underline the positives
and negatives of the different kinds of assessments. The factors that may be considered for this
include assessment type, method, target, date and suitability of assessment to the learners in
accordance with the interests of distinct learners. The second phase of the process is concerned

apply critical thinking in a bid to identify the improvements that the learners need to incorporate
for ensuring their overall growth and progress. The last stage of the process is concerned with
audit of the progress exhibited by the learners. For this purpose, the advancements of the
learning process of learners have to be recalled in order to identify the need for holding any
further conversation in case any change need to be made for effective learning process to take
place for the learner. In my nursery practice I tend to follow the EYFs criteria considering the
order of government which is given by them but the does not suggested any significant
assessment method as I am required to use this which is quite amazing but I can use the
assessment which I think which is suitable for my learner and the learning preferences and
abilities considering the wants and requirements. For example, considering my 2-year-old year
old learners and I am only one who focus on the three significant areas of EYFs that include
communication and language development emotional physical and social development and
physical development. The assessment which I use is the formative assessment as it is the
combination of the formal assessment that is an ongoing and also done by effective observation.
I do it because I want to accomplish some of the EYFs criteria which is observed by the
government and also ordered us to teach it significantly. Moreover, I must stick to this and my
nursery policy which is useful in terms of teaching according to the EYFs criteria. For example,
my 2-year-old child has the hearing problem which depict that I need to talk immensely slowly
to him and speak as slow as I can as by this, he can read the moment of my lips and figure out
that what I am trying to say. For this I’ve also conducted the individual learning plan for him in
terms of making sure that I also set significant goals and objectives for him to achieve it within
the stipulated period of time by which we can work together and also referred him to various
speeches and languages therapist in terms of helping him as per his needs. I also think for doing
the course of Makaton sign language that can help me in prominently communicating with him
on the grounds of verbally which is considered as the sign language and I also get the hope that it
is more effective for him to understand me and get things better as what I am trying to
communicate to him.

2.4 Identify the internal and external assessment requirements and related
procedures of learning programmes.
According to Petty, (2004), assessment are undertaken as the procedure for judging and
identifying that the learners work in terms of meeting the requirements for awarding company on
the basis of the requirements. The assessment which learners develop should be valid authentic
reliable and sufficient as by this they will be required to develop it in present table and
professional manner. There are various external requirements that are set by significantly
awarding company by which learner need to meet to develop their skills. Along with this learner
need to make effective work on their own and does not copy from another person book and
website. Moreover, the answers should be relevant according to the list which depict that
students need to conduct prominent research in terms of answering the particular and relevant
questions and also look for those questions that are asking from them as it need proper
referencing and statement which accumulate the information in an effective form.
Gravells and Simpson, (2009), mentioned that teacher has to uphold the internal needs and
policies of company by making sure that we should follow the confidentiality policy which does
not disclose the personal information of learners and also make sure that they keep things private
and does not share it with any third person as it put them in a huge danger. They also have to
follow the general data protection Regulation Act 2018 as it is useful in making sure that they do
not share the poster information of learners with any third party and if they do so with other
profession due to their reaching out towards the extra support for their learners. For example if
company share the information of learners considering the special education requirements then
they will need written permission from the parents of students and guardians which depict that
they give them permission in terms of sharing the confidential and personal information and they
also does not obtain the parents signature as by this company can not share the learners
information and cannot get prominent help which they need. Moreover teachers have to follow
that equality and Diversity within the company by treating all the learners at the same basis
considering their gender disability background age race financial status and so on and due to this
the need to make sure that all the students are created in an equal way and also have the right
considering the significant opportunities that are provided to everyone in any situation.
Moreover, all the teachers should follow the safety and health policy by ensuring that all the
students are protected from any kind of harm. Along with this by considering any kind of safety

measure it is assured that students are taught in secure and safe environment which us away from
threat and any kind of danger regarding their health and well being as by this everyone look
towards the effective manner which does not impact them on the grounds of socially physically
psychologically and emotionally well being from any shape and form.
2.5 Record the outcomes of assessments to meet internal and external
requirements
Considering my setting I need to make sure that I should follow all the effective policy and
procedure in terms of setting out my nursery practice. For this there are some policies which I
need to follow like confidential policy that represent that I cannot share any of my learner’s
personal information and detail with any third party. Health and safety policy tend to make sure
that I need to protect my learners on the grounds of mental and physical well being and protect
them from any harm and danger. I also make sure that I need to treat all of my learners on the
grounds of equality and diversity and offer them equal opportunities considering any situation
and circumstances. With in my nursery practice I also have a child who has the requirement of
special education like autism and I also conduct various assessments on his behaviour like I
conducted the primary assessment which is done in the starting to analyse the prior skills and
knowledge which he had and by this I can examine that he was showing sings and symptoms of
autism and by this I also continue conducting formative assessment which is ongoing and I did it
in terms of increasing my observation which I need to carry out for the several observation role
play a and also confirm that the child was representing significant indication to have autism. I
also told my manager that she also carried out effective observation by agreeing with me that the
child had Autism and I had to ensure that I obtained written permission from his parents before
referring that child to the special educational needs team as due to this my general data
protection regulation policy need me to obtain the permission before I could mention the name of
child and also reach out for help in terms of supporting him. For this I got the permission and
referred him to the special educational needs team and they are helping him in terms of making
effective and positive development towards the educational changes and also conducted the
individual learning plan by following early year Foundation stages that offer them proper support
for the longer period of time in terms of accomplishing their objectives by setting out for him but
it takes long time and significant support in terms of accomplishing the standard objectives that
are set out for him.

3.2 Analyse ways in which minimum core elements can be demonstrated in
assessing learners
The practitioner should have significant skills including training experience and knowledge as by
this they must consider having the core skills in them. Teacher should have the skills that leads to
enable them towards the literacy language effective Information numeracy and Communication
Technology. Moreover, the minimum core components that does not help for the professional
life of practitioner and teacher but also able to instil the essential skills for their learners. It is
being stated that this kind of four elements needs to be improvised and arrange them into a work
process so that practitioners can get enthusiast and motivated to place them in a better position
within these areas. Example can be taken up of spelling which needs practice and if the practice
is needed for the spelling then words can be practiced and learning can be done to spell 3 to 4
new words every week so that one can bring improvisation within the literacy skills and
therefore a learner can put the trust for out the correct words either orally or by writing upon the
worksheets or on the board and this is the way one can believe that words are being spelled
correctly.

weakness and strength along with learning styles which can be better understood by an example
as those learners there is the one person who is a visual learner and for him or her I prepare
visual presentations, handouts to fulfill their needs and allow them to be a kinetic learner. Kind
of points are being considered by me when I plan with the utilisation of resources in a optimum
whey for making my learners learn about achieving their goals and other objectives with their
resources to fulfill their needs in effective and efficient way. Tech help from my colleagues by
asking them out for evaluating my skills of teaching and suggest me some improvisation which I
can further ad within my way of learning to my learnt so that they can be taught correctly and
new way of teaching can be adopted buy me as well.
4.1- Review the effectiveness of own assessment practice, taking account of the
views of learners and others
It has been evaluated by me that the effectiveness of my personal assessment practices is highly
important to give out better level of accuracy within the learning practices to the students and
other learners. I do this by self reflecting in which I look out upon my skills and note them down
and study upon them like what they did and how I taught. In this way, improvisation can be
brought in a better way. According to Gravells.l, (2017), stated that talking about self reflection
practice is an critical factor for an individual as it is not lenient in nature and for an individual it
is highly essential to make sure that this study should be done regarding the problems and
effective solution needs to be prepared along with finding out the ways by which practice can be
improved is not for themselves but also for the learners because by this way of reflection, you
will be able to find out the ways in which practice and other set of knowledge and skills can be
improvised and learners can get better level of advantages from it. Likewise, feedback process
should also be initiated in the process of self reflection which can be attained by an individual by
asking about various people about their point of view like learners, colleagues friends so that
pros and cons can be evaluated for or improving the practice and providing a better level of

learning to a learner. Action Plan can be made by a teacher which will consist of SMART PLAN
which has certain targets like specific measurable achievable, relevant and timely. This in turn
allow better level of learning process for the learners who can get organised by this target
project. Will also allow teacher to attend various meetings training and reading out the books
along with researching for bringing improvisation within their set of knowledge and therefore
share it with other people and learners so that everybody can gain right amount of knowledge
and improve their skills over time.
Ensure that in my practice all the activities and lessons will be highlighted and briefly discussed
with the learners so that every skills and set of knowledge can be created like learning styles,
needs and objectives. I have various learners with me and among them there is a one learner
whose learning preference is auditory and for him I have put on the colours song with the picture
of every colour on the YouTube so that we can listen to it and sing along and therefore learn
about them and improve his original and basic skills.
On the other hand, I have also presented a presentation slide for my I learners where I considered
different pictures along with the names and give them printouts that were on A3 size papers. I
have also mixed two different colours and this was done by me just because to see what colour I
will come out if I mix both of them. This has helped me out in making a fun loving day for the
children (visual learners). Away with this, I have also considered different elements like religion,
background, age appearance, ethnicity, and so on that were followed by my learners and this help
me out in considering an inclusive teaching criteria. This was done by me among different it
tools and applications like lessons, posters sheets and so on while delivering the information to
my learners so that they can learn about different perspectives and relations along with
backgrounds and start cooking with each other because this is something which is important for
them when they will become adult as it will hard for them to handle each and everything if they
don’t get proper knowledge about collaborative nature. This improved both celebration and
recognition at the time when I was delivering information to my learners and this impacted
positively on their overall interest towards whatever I was teaching them. Including this, in my
own setting I have found that, we usually perform peer assessments in a month which is
something that delivers detailed information about different observations that individuals who
are working with me carrying on whatever practice I have done. This delivers information in
relation with how effectively I have performed my practice and how much planned each and

everything was not only for me but for my learners as well like what exactly I have done well?
Did I engaged every single child without any sort of discrimination? What exactly I can
effectively take into consideration for better improvements in near future? And so on. In present
context, top level management has given me the feedback in both verbal and writing where they
have mentioned that it is pretty much needed by me to improve at the time when I plan to
perform the next session or activity. I have realised that taking feedbacks from top level
management or even by my colleagues can be helpful for me to bring appropriate alterations that
may help me in making my practice much more fruitful not only for me but for my learners as
well because this is something that is much more important for an individual to carry out all the
negative aspects and change them into positive ones. Consideration of this, I may effectively e
become able to achieve different range of goals and objectives like enhancing the learning power
of my learners and so on. Away with this, I have also considered feedbacks from my learners as
well after finishing my sessions just to make sure that if they are properly satisfied with whatever
I have taught to them. I took this initiative because this will effectively help me in taking right
decisions if I am not been able to help them with what exactly they have planned to learn from
me.
4.2- Identification of the different areas in order to improve the own
assessment practices
After analysing the present environment, I have realised that it is important for one to identify
different areas that can be improved because considering this approach, anybody can
successfully perform different range of tasks and help the individual in in achieving desired goals
and objectives. In order to improve my own practice, it is pretty much needed for me as well to
consider different areas in which I am weak and try to improve them considering an assessment
because then only I might become able to deliver the best and suitable services or perform best
practice in much effective and efficient manner. In present context, I can say that it is needed for
me to make sure that I perform every single tasks in rightful manage through managing time is
well and sticking to the plan which is to deliver proper knowledge to my learners that I have
already planned. This is where I have found that it is needed by me to improve my time
management skill as it is one of the crucial area in which I lack somewhere. According to
Gravells and Simpson, (2010), improvement in this area will effectively lead me towards

performing all the tasks smoothly e and it may not become a pit fall for me e while delivering
sessions for lesson plans to my learners. I have also found that rushing into things do not come
up with positive results and this is why it is necessary for me to carry a time management related
tool and consider it in each and every single activity while practicing teaching and delivering
sessions to my learners. If it is talked about time Management related tools then I can firstly
considered training which may help me out in in managing the time of every single activity so
that they can effectively be performed in a set time span. This tactic will effectively lead me
towards success where uh I will also get the opportunity of pulling out time for myself as well,
where I can think of meeting the desired goals like how innovative and creative I can be that will
help learners to learn in much more effective and efficient manner. On the other hand, I have
also realised that if I can effectively take advice from top level management along with the other
individuals like my colleagues that how they figure out how to keep a flow in regards with
ensuring that they stick to giving their students the time that they have arranged and not go over
the time period limit assigned per action. Including this, I have somewhere managed to set a
specific SMART goal that I can easily achieve like going over the focuses on the meeting for just
five minutes and afterward doing the ice breaker for ten minutes which is a little prologue to the
meeting that will slide my students into the meeting with an effective and efficient starting point.
Including this, I will make a point to adhere to the meeting plan by setting a clock on for my self
and when the time is done, I will go on to the following period of the meeting so as to keep
steady over the meeting and adhere to the time that I have distributed to every single element.
