CAREER AS ASSISTANT FOOTBALL COACH
Football is one of the most beloved game in the world and there are number of people who love
playing football. The game has number of followers than any other game in the world. This is
played by almost of the students. This has became a good source of earning revenues too.
Number of club houses and sport institutes have been formed for providing the football training
to the students. This could be seen that the people ready to learn are in millions but the person
available to teach are in fractions (James, 2018). This has caused the great demand for the
coaches in football. It has become a good field in which career can be enhanced by individuals
who are interested and good in sports. This gives these people to good opportunity to build the
career in the field of their interests. But along with good player also it is important to understand
who is a assistant football coach and what are the things which are required to be done for
becoming a football assistant coach.
Assistant coach is professional that is responsible for motivating, guiding and instructing the
team for delivering quality coaching to the athletes. Coach has the duty of providing the team
with new strategies and developments for strong training procedures (Assistant coach, 2019).
The above duties are required to be performed by students planning to become assistant coach.
Along with the duties they are required to undertake number of responsibilities for the business.
For becoming football coach one is require to have get education from recognised college or
institutes.
Professional and college coaches are required to have Bachelor degree in any subject. Coaches
are required to have extensive knowledge and experience in the game. This is must requirement
for most of the high schools and colleges (Gibbons and Cameron, 2018). Experience may not be
at professional or college but give benefits in the career.
Most of the high schools require the coach to have certification or have mandatory education
courses. Certification requires the students with minimum 18 years of age and trained in the
cardiopulmonary & first aid. Some institutes require the coaches to attend sports safety or
coaching fundamentals classes before getting certified under the course. Further for becoming
higher ranked professional coach years of experience is required by the student. Students wh9oc

are having high ranking in sports are hired even they are not having experience in coaching.
Sports coach is becoming a interested career with least requirements.
Anyone who is passionate about the game with a bachelor degree and getting knowledge about
the game and its complete rules can become a assistant football coach. At this stage of hard
competition students who are good must try their career in this field. Institutes and colleges are
also paying them with good packages that grow with their experiences and knowledge. Student
can also by constant practicing and gaining can head towards becoming the lead coach (James,
2018). At the end one most important thing that will help students in getting their jobs is their
love for the game and their knowledge about the game.

SKILLS FOR EMPLOYABILITY AS FOOTBALL COACH
One having the experience and having deep knowledge about the football should try their career
in this field. Students should have love and passion for the game. Assistant coach is the person
who is having the responsibility of building new players and assisting them with new tactics and
development of strategies in different circumstances. Assistant coach is required to support the
head coach in delivering high quality coaching to the athletes motivating their abilities and
developing their capabilities. Assistant coach should have set of strategies which will help the
athletes to face the situation and turning the game in favour of their team and players.
As a assistant coach I am required to have effective communication skill which is the most
important for giving direction to the team and making players and team members to understand
the strategies. Communication skills are essential for understanding the issues of the team and
motivating them to work in team supporting each other. Coach is the one who has solution to all
the problems in the view of its students, therefore as coach I am also supposed to have the
problem solving skills as I have to deal with number of players and also to train number of
athletes (Kim, Kim and Reid, 2017). In have to train them to overcome their weaknesses by
resolving their issues and boosting up their spirit for the game and give their best. For developing
discipline among the students their coach is required to be disciplined. I have to develop

discipline in the athletes and to specialise their skills by identifying the individual skills of the
different athletes and positioning them over the best. This is essential to develop discipline
among the athletes for enhancing their skills.
Working in coordination and collaboration of facilitators like fitness instructors for helping the
players to develop their fitness and delivering the best. Among this most important responsibility
of the assistant coach is to develop teamwork in the player (Assistant Football coach job, 2019).
Football is a game which cannot be won on single standing by the player it is a team game in
which every player is important and this feeling is to be established strongly in the athletes
during their training sessions. As a assistant coach I have to be a teacher, motivator, team
builder, good communicators and a mentor. I am also required to possess in depth knowledge of
the game, motivation skills for encouraging player for delivering their best. Building good
rapport with the team members and head coach for listening their issues and turning the
weaknesses of the players into their strengths (Brennan, 2018). Learning with each and every
incident of the game, as it is essential for gaining knowledge and experience so that new
strategies for different circumstances could be suggested to the team members to become perfect
in this regard.
For delivering the best it is essential to learn from every game something new. A good coach
should have solution to most of the issues faced by the players in the game. Building confidence
among the athletes to play freely and building confidence to face every situation of the game and
also keeping them grounded with winning performance.

Employability skill in a Assistant footballer coach
My role as an Assistant Footballer coach is to evaluate the performance and also providing a suitable feedback by
balancing a criticism with positivity and motivation. I also have good employability skills that helps me to assessing
the strength and weakness of each participant’s performance and also identify the areas for their future development
as well (de Schepper, J., Sotiriadou and Hill, 2020). Also, I posses strong organizing skills and communication skill
that is necessary for every coach to deliver their thoughts to others.
Even a good organizing skill are also assist me to make good game plans and I also posses strong motivational skills
which every coach must posses so that it will help to motivate others. As my main role is to motivate, guide and
instruct the sports team to deliver the quality coaching to all the athletes. Also, I posses strong strategic skills that
helps me to make better strategies in order to survive my team in better mode.

Among all, I think that organizing skills, motivating skill and communicating skill plays an important role in the
success of become an Assistant Football coach because it is necessary to make a team motivate and they always get
this from their coach only. That is why, according to me, I think that if I posses these skill, will not only beneficial
for my team but it is also good for me as well. Through this employability skill, I try to find more development
option in my future which assist me to attain my goal as well.
In addition to this, I am string enough to handle any query from my team because I posses strong problem solving
skill which will assist me to solve problem. I also like to play in a teamwork and this also leads to increase my team
working skill and directly affect my oral communication skill as well (Aqila and Nordin, 2019). Further, I also
manage the work as per the requirement such that my strong time management skills and planning skills help me to
manage my team and maintain records to show those to the senior authority. As these employability skills will help
me to become a coach or a leader in near future and working on these will help to manage the work and meet my
define aim and objectives as well. Even, I also use these skills with my colleague when we are in serious discussion
and at that time, I solve many issue through my critical thinking abilities as well.
Thus, it is analyzed that it will help in every individual’s life and in order to develop these employability skill, a
person should determine their dream or aim and start working on this. Like it is suggesting that in order to improve
communication skill, candidate must start attending the training session or else, start working in a group because it
provides lots of ideas and thoughts, share experience which help to improve the team working abilities (Misra and
Khurana, 2018).
