HOW soon is a diagnosed result of asthma released
Asthma can be diagnosed as early as at the age of five years through its early
symptoms which are coughing, wheezing and shortness of breath and chest tightness.
Orthodox way of diagnosing Asthma
To diagnose asthma doctors generally ask about medical history and personal history
to understand symptoms and their causes. This includes family history and medicines which
patient take.
This is followed by physical examination of patient, looking at ear, eyes, nose, skin ,throat,
lungs and chest.
This is followed by Lung functional test, which are Spirometry, Peak airflow etc.
Orthodox way of treating Asthma
Asthma is a chronic and long term disease because of that airways of patient gets
blocked and causes inflammation to the patient. Though it does not have any cure but with
medication this can be controlled through beta2-agonists medication. Medication for Asthma
are of two types on help patient to get immediate relief from Asthma attacks and another
medication supports long term control of the disease, which reduce inflammation in airways
and prevent asthma symptoms through inhaled corticosteroids.
Asthma can also be controlled through Bronchial thermoplasty therapy this involves
delivering radiofrequency energy so that they heat the airways in controlled manner.
Effectiveness of Acupuncture in treating Asthma
Acupuncture for asthma have been trial be many medical practitioners and there were
very less successful attempts in all those trials. Which later ended by no recommendations.
Some other studies included that though acupuncture showed some improvements in
asthma patients but the results were not consistent. Some of the cases for treatment of asthma
using acupuncture have been successful but clear convincing documents are still not available
for this.
