INTRODUCTION
Project management can be explained as the collection of various resources and plans for
undertaking a project and completing the project in given deadlines. The main purpose of this
report is to develop a better understanding of the concept of project management by launching a
new health and fitness application for Astra PLC. Astra PLC was founded in 1999 and is
headquartered at Cambridge, UK. The organisation is very famous due to its exceptional health
treatments and facilities. The organisation is looking towards diversifying its portfolio by
launching a new health and fitness application within a quarter.
MAIN BODY
Background of the Project
This project is basically associated with the development of a project that focuses on
creation of a health and fitness application for diversifying and improving the communication of
the Astra PLC with their customers. This will also be helpful to enhance the engagement of
customers with the organisation and avail its facilities at finger tips, improve data collection, help
in treatment activities, track on patient's health etc. This trendy application could be helpful in
maintaining the positive health of the people through regular health tracking and real time
detection of their health (Hair and Sarstedt, 2021). The name of the application will be "Fit Hit”
and it will provide a wide range of services to the customers by scheduling regular check-ups,
doctor consultancy, dietary plans, track on physical activity, real time patient data collection etc.
The main purpose for developing this personalised health and fitness application is to
diversify the portfolio of operations within Astra PLC so that maximum numbers of people
facilitate its services. Along with this, the health and fitness application will also enhance the
accessibility of people to the hospitals in the times of emergency so that casualties can be
avoided by consulting with them on a regular basis (Aanbari and Kwak, 2018). The use of digital
technology is very common and people have developed their own views regarding the use of
digital technology. The growing Trend of digitalisation will support the usage of this application
by people so that operations of the organisation can be improved.

Project plan in project management can be explained as the most important stage which
includes various resources, methods, purposes, actions and procedures that are required for
undertaking and executing a project effectively and efficiently.
For developing this health and fitness application, the requirements for highly skilled and
qualified professionals such as project manager, UI and UX designer, IOS and Android
developers etc. are required. Moreover, it is important that the application is built in a suitable
manner that could enhance the customer engagement and feasibility for using the product
through various devices such as IOS and Android, maintaining simplicity of application by UI
and UX designing and enhancing the handling of data by backend development. In order to plan
the project the giant chart could be utilised that shows the planned activities that comprises
various events and tasks for completing the project successfully.

 Examining the form of data that would be used in the application must be identified for
making it user friendly and user interactive (Napoli, 2019). Personalised digital health
and fitness applications would help to increase the interactions with the patients, provide
real time health support and help to create better health for the people.
 The next step involves creating the wire frames that can be elaborated as the conceptual
layouts and planned path for providing the display structure of the application.
 The third step includes prepared documents and setting the design standards for making
the application interactive and more standardised.
 The final step is creating the mock-ups with the help of style guides on the wire frame of
the apps for completely making the app to be executed for customers.

For making this application in a successful manner, there are many things that must be used
such as social media integration, application customisation, testing the application and launching

the application. The application would be designed for creating feasible health services for
everyone from anyplace/anywhere (Mota and et.al., 2018).
 Application design and launching costs: The application would be helpful in situations
such as pandemic when the people can get easy access to the doctors without risking their
lives in the real case scenario.
 Social media integration for health development: It is mainly related to the strategic and
effective use of social media platforms for enhancing and promoting the brand image of the
organisation as well as its services.
 In app purchases: With the help of in-app purchases the application will create awareness
among the people using the application so that their health and fitness check-ups can be
done easily and they can contact the doctors regarding illness or any health issues along with
the purchase of medication and heath check-ups in the hospital by using the application.
 App customisation: The application will enable the patients and the hospital to get better
interconnectivity with each other with the help of real time health detection and health
tracking (Adrian, Hinrichsen and Nikolenko, 2020).
 Testing of the application: The application will be tested on its ability to provide
personalised experience according to the health history of the patient or the person as well as
collect their data of health activities and their regular data collection for optimising their
health check-ups by the doctor.
 Launch of the application: The applications will be launched by the hospital authority,
staff, patients, and people in nearby areas through various promotions through
advertisements. This application will help to improve the user experience and provide great
health services to the clients.

Project risk can be explained as the uncertainty or unknown events that may occur during
the project that hinders the continuous flow of project management and its achievement
effectively and efficiently. There are many risks that are related to the project of application
development regarding the data storage, cyber security, unsafe and defective networking, etc.

 Cost overrun: The primary issue associated with the development of this application is
the involvement of unexpected costs. This may arise due to the lack of communication,
poor finance management, poor feasibility, delay in payments, incomplete task etc.
 Delay: Another issue is the delay in application design that proofs undesirable effects and
overall delay of the completion of the project.
 Design and compatibility issues: The potential challenge that is associated with the
development of application is the incompatibility issues and poor designing.
 Competition from other applications: Astra PLC has many competitors and
competition from the other applications my result in declining the overall user attention
with the existing application of the organisation.

The project success can be explained as the overall success of the plan for a given project
and achievement of the end objective within a given time frame.
 S: The specific criteria for achieving the success of the application was to reach more than
1000 download within 1 month duration. The application can be deemed as successful if it
fulfils the criteria within the given time frame.
 M: The measurement of the performance of the application can be done by obtaining the
overall costs invested and run on investment through that application within the six month
duration.
 A: Attainability can be measured by identifying whether the application was successful in
providing positive performance for encouraging the health of the people or not.
 R: Reality of the application can be checked by evaluating the overall customer satisfaction
and their positive feedback by utilising that application in their daily lives.
 T: The project success can also be identified by understanding whether the project was
completed within a given time frame or not.
CONCLUSION
It has been concluded from the power report that project management is a very important
process for achieving the success of a project plan. It has been identified from the above report
that the project manager goes through various stages such as project plan, project scope, project

risk and finally the project success evaluation for gaining the overall success of the project.
Finally, this report has been discussing the planning of the project, its scope, risk involved and
the smart objectives for assessing the overall success of the application developed within the
project.

activities and provide day to day dietary plans, doctor consultation and fitness check etc. through
remote operations. The project management covers a detailed plan, objective, scope, risks
involved and the overall success criteria for developing this app. This app will help to redefine
the regular methods of going to the hospital for medical check-ups replacing by the remote
medical check-ups, health regularisation, patient data collection etc.
