 The living standard and health care of people seeking asylum cannot be
improved until certain changes are not brought in the areas of economic,
environmental and social sustainability.

Background
 The Asylum is basically concerned with protection and safe
environment provided by a state or a country to people who have left their
home town or place of origin (Colic-Peisker, 2015). Over the past decade,
Australia has become a major centre for refugees and as of 2019, more than
50,000 outsiders seek asylum in Australia under the Article 14 of the 1948
Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The country has strict policies
regarding seeking of Asylum which means that refugees that travel by air and
have a valid visa and passport are only allowed to seek shelter in the country
or else they would be detained by the immigration authorities. The major
stakeholders involved in the study are nurses, doctors, government and
migrants.

Definition of sustainability
 Sustainability is concerned with meeting the needs of the present without
compromising on the needs of future generations. It basically involves
following a particular behaviour for an indefinite period of time.
 In this topic the concept of sustainability is related with health care
and living of refugees in asylum and various economic, social and
environmental factors affecting it.

Social sustainability
 Social factors are one of three pillars of sustainability that mainly
focus on social system of a country to operate in a particular way without
adopting any socio-cultural changes (Guajardo & et. al., 2016). People seeking
asylum are highly affected by social factors like
 Cultural barrier
 Refugees with trauma backgrounds
 Language problem
 Health care problems

Economic sustainability
Economic sustainability is concerned with the economic factors affecting the
livelihood of the migrants and their purchasing power.

Environmental sustainability includes all the factors affecting the atmosphere of
the country.

Conclusion
On the basis of above discussion done within the
presentation, it can be said that the living standards as well as health care
of people who seek Asylum services at the present time is not relevant
and adequate for them to sustain a healthy life. Further, it has been
analysed that the living standards and health care of people seeking
asylum can be enhanced once changes are brought in the confines of
environmental, economic and social sustainability.
