MANAGEMENT
Primary reflection
Description- I am presenting the report for a sports company named Athletes, where
there are five employees. Each of them are allocated with separate roles and
responsibilities. I contributed to the team performance by preparing the data on price,
purchasing decisions, vendor management and supply chain network. I acknowledge
the efforts of the other team members for preparing balance scorecard, cash flow
statement, sales and inventory management records, without which I could not
proceed. I performed this role, as it was allocated by the professors in the role and
responsibility allocation. Further, adopting the description stage of Gibbs Reflective
Model, I can elaborate that I learnt about the basic ways of formulating the prices of
the products and services; purchasing decisions of the buyers and sellers; inventory
management and logistics and impact of logistics on supply chain network.
I can affirm the statements of Bashan and Holsblat (2017), I can state that our roles
are interrelated with each other, which collaborates for formulating business research
reports and plans. Adopting the “analysis” stage of Gibbs reflective cycle, I can state
that the role enhanced my skills, knowledge and expertise regarding the financial
flexibility in the marketing.
Secondary reflection
Feelings- While analysing the consumer and seller behaviour, I felt that my
experience is being concretized, as I was conducting reflective observation for the
practical application of the learnt skills. Adopting the arguments of Lawlor et al.
(2018) regarding the application of the feeling stage of Gibbs Reflective Model, I can
state that in the critical moments, I felt nervous and lack confidence, which resulted in

MANAGEMENT
missing out the critical points at the time of presentation. I can mention the
inconvenience, which the other team members had to face for my carelessness.
Analysis- After evaluating my performance on pricing, purchase decision, inventory
management and supply chain network, I detected that as a team member; I proved to
be productive, with slight modifications in memorizing skills. Therefore, I planned to
organize my performance by creating routines and work accordingly. I contacted the
experts and seniors, who guided me regarding the economic aspects, of which I
lacked effective information. I undertook challenging and enduring tasks, in which I
failed at the initial stages. However, affirming with the considerations of Endersby,
Phelps and Jenkins (2017), I felt that consistent practices upgraded the standards and
quality of my performance. I shared the progress report with the seniors, which I felt
improved the stability in the professional relationships, enhancing unity and
coordination.
Future intentions
I lacked self confidence in the moments of pressure, which created a negative image
in the minds of the professors and other team members. I also lacked effective
communication skills, which compelled me to face differentiation of opinions with
others.
Action plan- Therefore, consideration of the propositions of Motschnig, Ryback and
Motschnig (2016), I can elucidate that I need to inculcate self organization skills in
my performance, which would help me to detect the tasks, which needs to be
performed on a priority basis. I also need to indulge in spoken English classes for
improving the proficiency in the communication. Evaluation of the exposed
performance would be effective for detecting the modifications. Timelines would
develop a sense of urgency for executing the tasks within the stipulated time.
