SOFTWARE PROCUREMENT
Introduction
The aim of the report is to clarify the case study with the help of doing ethics
techniques. The case study has been discussed with the manner that the company manager
has been confused between two companies. Both companies are interested in software
making. In the meantime, coincidentally, one of the company’s request, has been made by the
manager’s friend. That is why ethical issues have been arises. The upcoming writing has been
contained the ethical issue analysis where the manager of the IT industry (the purchasing
company) have to decide between two company; which one is better and beneficial. That is
why the each and every conditions and the ethical issue has been checked. The decision has
been also made for the profitable thought, which will help the purchaser company in future
growth (Thornley et al.,2018).
What is going on?
The company has a made with the 500 members. The branches are located in
Australia. The department of the company has decided to acquire enterprise resource
planning or ERP. That is why the company has requested for software and given an
advertisement in the newspaper. There are two companies that have been reopened in this
matter, for providing the required software properly. Now the company have to decide that
which one is relevant and appropriate software for the company. Suppose the 1st company
has the name A and the second one has the name B. The second companies offer has been
made by the friend of the asking companies’ manager. Now there is an ethical issue
according to the case study; that which company should be taken. There are several issues
needed to discuss the situation. The price, product quality and up-gradation of the software is
very much needed. According to this problem, the best quality product company should be
chosen (Lugović et al.,2016).

What are the facts?
There are several facts about this situation. First of all the A company has the best
quality application rather than the B., But the B Company’s application has been made by the
friend of the manager of the required company. So there is a trust issue. Obviously, company
B is more trustable for purchase. There is a scope if the software will crash or the corrupted
in future then obviously the company B has a better range because the dealer is the more
known person to the purchasing company. In the product quality matter, it is denoted that the
company A is the better company than the B. The product efficiency is also better than the A.
So it is a debatable topic that which company should be taken by the purchaser company. The
product price of the B is also lower than the product A. So another one hesitating condition
has arisen. All of these are the key fact of the problem. The contradict tory situation has been
arising if and only if the two situations has been occurring, that both situation individually
has several facts for choosing. So it is very much difficult to choose one of them.
What are the issue?
Now according to the case study various issue has been arisen. In one hand the company A is
providing the better quality application and in the other hand the B Company has the cheapest
product. Also the proposal of the company B has been made by his friend. Now there is an
ethical issue has been made by the situation. Which company should be chosen, it is the
main issue of the topic. Now the company A has the privilege of Governments’ shelter. The
Government has interest in the company A. So it is very much difficult which company has
been taken. In the other hand Nimals friend Devraj has given little pressure for the proposal.
So it is a contradictory situation for Niramal to make the decision(Jones 2017).

SOFTWARE PROCUREMENT
Who is affected?
According to the case study, the company A has a huge chance for choosing. Now the
companies B proposal has been made by the friend of the purchaser company’s manager.
Now if the manager Nirmal has been chosen the company A for the reliability and the future
scope. Then his friend Debraj and his company has been effected for losing the contract. The
Debraj has called to the Nirmal for the favour; that the project should be chosen. In the
ethical issue, Nimal has to be stricken and have to take decision. So it has been notified that
company B as well as the Debraj has been affected.
What are the ethical issue and implications?
There are various issue needed to be discussed. First of the IT company manager
Nirmal has to choose from two companies for the software. Now the second company B is
linked with the Nirmals’s friend Debraj. Debraj has been suggested to take his software. Now
according to the case, the A company’s software is costly nut more reliable. The company A
is also attached with the Government linkup. So Nirmal should choose the A company, that is
why the ethical problem has been arisen. Debraj has been already requested for the project to
Nirmal. So the matter is clear that Debraj is desperate to sell the product to Nirmals
Company, for his own purpose. But Nirmal has worked hard to get the position of manager.
So he has the responsibility to grow his company more. So the contradictory problem has
been already arised(Nirwan,2018).
What can be done about it?
The decision should be taken with the ethics properly. According to the case
obviously the Debraj needed the software to be sold. Also Debraj has requested to the Nirmal
to take his deal for the software. But it is obvious, that the purchasing company has to deal
with ethically. Though B companies product is much cheaper and also the product has been

suggested by friend; still the decision has been made with the ethical thought. The product of
the
What are the options?
According to the case study, there are contradictory situation has been happened. There are
only two option that can be taken. If the company need the product cheap and time
consuming. Then the B Company should be taken for the product. The quality of the product
A is better. So if the purchaser company needed to better quality product with the much more
price. Then the first option or the first company should be chosen. Because the frist company
A has the attachment with the Government. So dealing with this companies will be beneficial
for the organization. Also it can be assured that the Government has chosen the company,
because it has the great track record. So both option has been visible in this cases(Iswahyudi
2018)
Which option is best and why?
Now according to the problems, all facts needed to be discussed through the needed to be
discussed properly. The purchaser company has two option for choosing the products. One of
them is A, and the other one is B. The company B companies’ proposal has been given by the
friend of the manager of the purchaser company. Now after analysing all fact, it is verified
that both situations have the advantage as well as the disadvantages also. But the main thing
is company A has been noticed by the head of the Government department. Obviously,
company A will have a huge advantage for government support. The purchasing company
Information Technology manager Nirmal, has a contradictory situation. Because the company
B's proposal has been made by Nirmals's own friend Devraj. After that, the Devraj has little
bit forced for the deal, because he needed the contract badly. Now, after analysis all product
and circumstances; it is calculated that company A should be chosen. The reason is not only

the product quality is better, but the company has also been watched by the head of the
Government department, Robert Brown. Obviously, company A will have a great future,
because of the government support. Now Nirmal has been achieved his position after very
hard work. Obviously, he should choose the company which will profitable in future for his
own company. Though there is an ethical issue, for the friend, the A company should be
chosen. The career and the growth of Nimal’s company are needed. So it is concluded that
company A should be chosen.
Conclusion:
After studying the whole case; it can be specified that the decision can be taken with
various type of situations. In this case, the product has been delivered with various thoughts.
Always the decision should be taken with the favour of their own organization. Also, the
futuristic profit needed to be clarified. If any software has been taken from a company, then
the up-gradation, funding, or the authenticity are needed to flow the software running
properly. So, in this case, company B’s proposal has been made by a friend. But in the
futuristic thought, company A is beneficial. That is why company A should be chosen. After
purchasing the software, it is noticeable that the software should be maintained in future. That
is why the beneficial company should be chosen.
