Background
SettleInOz is a not-for-profit organization that is based out of Melbourne, Australia and provides
assistance to the immigrants to help them settle in Australia. The assistance is provides to make
sure that the immigrants settle in the Australian life, work, and community. Rosa, previously a
partner with a large & successful commercial law firm, Dr. Gianna Semolina, public health
executive, and Luca, tech entrepreneur have jointly started the organization. The project to be
implemented in the organization is a social enterprise for SettleInOz.
The immigrants in Australia bring with them a number of rural and agricultural skills. These
skills can be utilized and developed to be implemented in the development of certain native
plants and animals for the Australian and overseas markets. The organization desired to develop
a form of farming co-operative and there is extensive research and analysis needed before
implementation of the idea.
Scope Overview
The project scope will cover the research and analysis activities for SettleInOz. The business
case analysis will be conducted to determine the project requirements. The possible sources of
data will be identified. These will include the immigrants, farming units and associations, legal
agencies, and public sector units. The planning activities will be carried out in the project
covering estimations, communication planning, resource management, and risk assessment
(Dalcher, 2015).
The data sets will be collected using the techniques as interviews, surveys, observations, and
group discussions. The use of technology will be done to analyze the data sets and recognize the
patterns involved. The automated tools will make sure that the time spent on analysis is less. The
resulting patterns and trends will be used to illustrate the implementation mechanisms that

control and closure activities for the project.
The goal of the project is to carry out all the project tasks and activities under the budget of
$550,000 and within the timeframe of 12 months (Lianying, Jing and Xinxing, 2012).
Business Case
The project is justified as the utilization of the rural and agricultural skills of the immigrants will
provide the immigrants with the ability to settle in the Australian work and culture. Also, the
Australians and overseas markets will also benefit with the implementation and adequate
utilization. The farming co-operative will provide two-way benefits (Matos and Lopes, 2013).

 Team collaboration and cohesion levels will be maintained through effective
communication. The availability for communication and work shall be informed to all the
members in the project team in advance (Vanickova, 2017).
Lessons Learned
 Communication plays an extremely significant role in the project. It is necessary that all
the project stakeholders and resources are always aware of the project developments. The
stakeholders and resources shall be informed about the project updates through various

modes of communication. With the development of technology, emails and tele-
conferencing mediums can be used.
 Team collaboration and cohesion is extremely necessary for project success. There shall
be organization of discussions and team sessions so that the level of collaboration in the
team enhanced. The success of the project is a team effort and therefore, contribution of
all the resources in the team is needed to make sure that the project success is
achieved(Bourne and Walker, 2010).
 There may be various risks that may emerge in the project during the project timeline.
The management of these risks is the responsibility of the Project Manager. However, the
collaboration of the resources and stakeholders is also needed to manage the risks. The
Project Manager shall keep a risk management plan prepared in advance so that the
guidelines to deal with these risks are available. The risk management phases shall
include identification, assessment, evaluation, treatment, and closure.
