INTRODUCTION
Covid-19 is one of the biggest problems that is faced by different countries across
worldwide which have lead to economic slowdown that is lower employment level, disposable
income of customers. Australia is among such country that have been adversely impacted or
affected due to increase number of case of several acute respiratory syndrome Coronavirus.
Thus, this report covers information related to current COVID-19 health issue that have impacted
on Australia population from the perspective of cultural, political and national.
Factors that have contributed in lower number of death in Australia as compared to other
countries
Australia is one of the strongest countries in world that have relative done well in
managing situation of corovirus as in initial stage on April it have 6522 case and approximately
death of 66 people living in society. There are various factors that have contributed in lower
death ratio in Australia as compared to other countries such as geographical, political and culture
that can be illustrated as follows:
Australia has 25 million populations that is large tourist industry with more urban
population and know for globally connected economies. One of the features that have benefits
Australia to reduce spread of virus across Australia is geographical location. Country can easily
prevent itself from entry of new virus by seal itself from outside world thus leaving less chance
of threat to their life’s (Zhou and et.al., 2020). Thus, it was one of the factors that have helped
Australia to quickly take steps to prevent community transmission for better health and well
being of individuals.
Another factors that have lead to lower death in Australia is strong trust between
individual and government that make various policies for benefits of society. Despite recently
country is facing political instability there is more amount of social cohesion among diverse
population that have helped in facing challenged effectively (Chughtai and Malik, 2020).
Therefore Cooperative public spirit or understanding country collective good are some important
elements of politics that have resulted in lower death ratio as compared to other countries.
Government have declared $2.4 billion health package in order to protect citizens of Australia
and reduce number of death. It can be stated that government have taken advice from medical
experts and work together in order to limit number of case for health and well-being of
individuals (Ng and Renshaw, 2020). Australia government have also make used of safe mobile

phone application in order to traced infected person and allot place for self isolation thus this
effective practice and system have lead to cope up with uncertain circumstances.
Good education, health care facilities and other services that are provided to Australia
citizens at the same time it have better economic condition and civil structure that contributed in
providing wide varieties of opportunities to people for their better living. Various necessary
information were provided to people about the way they have cleaned their hand, maintained
social distancing so that virus cannot be transmitted form one person to another (Onyema and
et.al., 2020). People are more concerned and have anxiety related to their health and safety, there
are various call services provide to people so that they can be helped in any uncertain situation.
Therefore more awareness and precaution taken by individual at their personal scale have
contributed in lower death ratio or spread of Covid-19.
Number of test of system of Covid-19 have been increased in order to find appropriate
number of people that are suffering from disease so that several steps can be take to prevent it
from transmitting it to other individuals. Such as more than 29000 per million people have been
tested for COVID-19 in April in south Australia while there were only 19000 in USA and 13000
in UK were tested (Jetten and et.al., 2020). Thus, this data stated that country by increasing its
testing and tracing abilities is able to contribute in reducing number of death and spread of virus.
It can be stated that large number of citizen consumer alcohol that have saved them from impact
of corovirus. Most of the people in Australia drink alcohol to reduce their stress and anxiety level
thus social or culture of population has also lead in better health and wellbeing of society. Work
from home culture and social distancing within office are some of the social culture which have
been adopted by Australia to lower death rates.
Determinants of health that have used higher number of Australian females in their 20
and 30s and death of older men
There are various factors that determinate health of individual such as social,
environmental, physical influence, income level of individual, demographical structure, equality
availability of health care and medical facilities. Australia is a country with population of
25,64800 and average population density that is 3.3 persons per square kilometre of land. Among
them, 89% of people live in urban areas. It have high life expectancy ratio as per record of 2015-

2017 that is 83.2 across worldwide. There are several reason that have stated that Corovirus is
more spread in women that belong to age group of 20-30 and older men in Australia such as:
Education: As per 2018 there were approximately 12.6 million females that 51% of Australia
population and most then have good qualification. Thus they have more knowledge about the
way individual can be prevented from spreading virus while older generation does not have
enough knowledge that lead to death (Pickles and et.al., 2020).
Availability of facilities: It can be stated that there more health care facilities and medicines are
available to women as compared to older men. Despite of best facilities corovirus cannot be
cured in case of old generation due to existence of various diseases among older generation in
Australia such as Diabetes, cancer etc.
Employment Level: Most of the women belong to working population that is between age
group of 15-64, there are 65% women that are working in any enterprise. Thus they have
disposable income and availability of necessary services for their better health and wellbeing
(Datu, 2020). On the other hand there is more dependency ratio which stated that there are large
number of older generation in Australia that are dependent on their child for treatment.
Health condition: Women eat more fruits and vegetables in their diets than men which is 7.7%
and consume less sugary drink that are harmful for health in long run. There are various types of
health issued faced by women such as chronic condition, sexual and physical violence and
equality at work place that adversely affected on its health. At the same time older men are
suffering from chronic diseases like cancer or any other due to intake of more amount of alcohol
that is harmful for health (Collie and et.al., 2020). All such poor health and intake of nutritional
food resulted in more death in case of corovirus as compared to women that belong to 20s and
30s. There is huge discrimination among women on basis of payment of wages and availability
of opportunities that lead to poor health condition.
Social condition: It is another factor of determination of health of individual which stated that
environment in which individual has been lived. Such as most of women in Australia have
employment so have good sources of income and better living as compared to older men as they
are unemployed and dependent on their children (Brown and et.al., 2020). Poor environment and
lifestyles has lead to more death of older generation males in Australia as contrary to younger
women.

Reflection
From the above analysis and discussion it can be determinate of health have adversely
impact on health and well- being of individual. Such as I have get to know from above report
that if proper knowledge and education is provided to individual and community than many
people can be saved from such uncertain events that is Covid-19. I have also learnt from above
discussion that social status and income helps individual to intake hygiene and organic products
that are crucial for better health. Person by consuming healthy food can stay fit and fine for
longer time thus can be easily saved from Corovirus. There are various other factors that also
determinate health of individual that is physical environment such as most of the women are
discriminated or sexual violence by men that have impacted in their health and wellbeing (Zhou,
and et.al., 2020). These may challenges some of the assumption that people by providing better
medicines and treatment can be recovered or have good health. As despite of use of innovative
technologies and best medical facilities there are chance where individual may dies because it
have not be provide adequate environment or food to eat for better health and well-being.
Therefore, as per my point of view, Government should takes more initiates to provide safe and
secure work place and environment to both women and older generation so that they have good
health and cope up with such virus.
CONCLUSION
At last it can be concluded from above report that several factors such as social, political,
economical and geographical have lead to reduction in overall death of people in Australia due to
COVID-19. Government and people by taking appropriate safety measure and treatment is able
to recover from situation to some extend than other countries. At last it can be concluded that
various determinate of health need to be considered by health care service provider for better
treatment of individuals.
