2.1. Engineering industry in Australia
Engineering is one of the rapidly growing also the most exciting industry now a days
that can offer fresh graduates important potential of earning, constancy in job and sufficient
personal pleasure. In Australia, there is a huge skills crisis can be noticed, but the situation is
little better for the industry of engineering. The skills of the engineer have been in the strong
demand over the past period for the huge part of the mining industry and the government of
Australia invest in the betterment of the infrastructure. For this mining industry, the levels of
employment of engineer are rising day by day in Australia. This engineering is not ruled by
the market of single labour for single skill but many labour markets trained by the exact

2.2. Careers in Engineering in Australia
The wide industry of engineering includes an array of the opportunities. Most of the
engineers concentrate on the distinct specialization like civil, chemical, aerospace, software
or hardware engineering. The positions of engineering mainly require the bachelor degree in
the engineering or any related field. Some of the jobs of engineering mainly in management,
the master degree is essential. Many of the engineers have a great careers working with the
critical advantage technology [3]. In the year 1980’s, the engineers immediately get the
required job after graduating from the University. Since 1990s, the career of an engineer has
not so straightforward. The jobs are moving from the public to the private sector. The
employers tendency for hiring only those candidates who have the minimum five years
experienced that is industry standard. But from the year 2011, the careers for the engineers
who just graduated from any University became better.

2.3. Required skills for successful career
To make a successful career in this industry, some skills are required. These skills are
two types, one is soft skills and another is hard skills.
i) Hard skills: Mechanical skills, Troubleshooting, Programming, Knowledge of the process
of manufacture and many more are the examples of the hard skills of engineering.
ii) Soft skills: Soft skills need interpersonal compliance among the various type of people,
situations and problems. The example of the soft skills are leadership and management,
communication, commitment also desire for learning, critical thinking also problem solving,
giving also receiving the feedback, creativity, teamwork, efficiency, flexibility, interpersonal
also collaborative skill and attention to the detail.
In the Appendix, the first job advertisement is the best choice to select after
completing the graduation. For this Junior engineer post, the desired skills need are as follows
[4]:
i) The communication skills both in written and verbal needs to be strong enough.
ii) The practical approach is essential.
iii) The ethic of highly motivated and enthusiastic work is needed from the candidate.
iv) Candidate must focus on the productivity of the high quality work.

ii) Candidate must experience in Sheet Met.
2.4. Career goal after graduation
In order to ensure success in engineering goal, it is important to define some carrier goals.
However, only defining goals is not enough, it is required to ensure that carrier goal is in
accordance with passion for engineering as if carrier goal is not defined by interest and
passion, then it is not possible to achieve success in it [5]. Therefore, carrier goal defined in
this context is chosen out of passion of robotics and artificial intelligence, which has a lot of
scope not only in terms of getting jobs, but also an opportunity to enhance quality of human
life and society and that is what makes this field of engineering so interesting. Therefore,
primary goal is to obtain advanced knowledge in robotics and artificial intelligence through
internship and training [6]. Obtaining theoretical knowledge does not make am engineer
successful, they must be capable of applying their theoretical knowledge and design solutions
that is beneficial for society and human beings [7]. Therefore, an important carrier goal in
this context is to make a carrier in engineering research specializing in robotics and artificial
intelligence and achieve success in research on robotics and artificial intelligence to ensure
proper application of engineering skills and knowledge as well [8].
3. Conclusion
Engineers are known as professional who are capable of transforming society through
research and application of knowledge. However, it is not possible for engineers to find
solution for every problem of society and therefore, specialization is required. While
choosing specialization, it is important to ensure that this specialization is chosen according
to passion which makes it easier for engineers to obtain skills and knowledge which is
required for success in carrier. It helps to accomplish carrier goals as well. Specialization
