Introduction
Human resources of an organization are the key assets that are responsible for the success
or failure of an organization. This is the major reason for human resource management to be a
crucial activity in an organization. As per today’s scenario, various human resource and
employment issues are emerging. Human resource manager plays a vital role in understanding
organizational behavior and manages employees and labor of the organization at the same time.
He is also responsible for the issues related to human resource occurs or potential issues in the
organization to resolve to decrease the risk of unproductivity in the organization (Bailey, 2018).
The report will include the key issues areas related to human resource management and
employment while considering the case of the fast food industry in Australia.

The fast food industry has grown larger since many years. This has also introduced to
various HR issues in the Industry. Rapid growth in the industry has also increased the
competition, which has a major threat of cut-price competition. Some of the leading global fast
food companies in Australia are McDonald's, Dominos, Burger King, Subway and many more
(Fang & Gerhart, 2014).
The two most critical employment issues identified were employee turnover, recruitment,
and selection. Employee turnover is when employees quit the job very rapidly in an organization.
This can occur due to various factors in an organization. This is a major issue faced in the fast
food industry in Australia. Another issue faced in the industry is recruitment and selection,
especially in the case of the global fast-food chain. There are various changes for employers and
the employees at the time of recruitment process in this industry. The recruitment and selection
process of an organization reflects the staff competency and ways in which the company can
acquire good skills and talented employees for the organization (Kaynak, 2018).

It can be concluded that according to today’s scenario, various human resource and
employment issues are emerging. The fast-food industry was taken for the report for discussion
over major HR issue identified in Australian fast food industry. Major employment issue to be
discussed was employee turnover that is the employees are leaving the company very rapidly in
the industry that affects the cost to the company. Another issue identified was recruitment and
selection. There were major challenges related to this topic in this industry. The reason being the
global fast food industry has to manage human resource across the globe and select employees
from various regions worldwide.
