Introduction
In the following assignment, a brief discussion regarding the health care system of
different countries has been conducted. Through this assignment, attention can be drawn towards
prevailing health issues in Australia and India, and the degree of funds allocated by the
government to prevent the issue. This assignment is divided into 4 different stages where along
with the comparison, the focus has been placed over the economic issue faced by the health care
organization in Australia.
Health Care Industry in Australia and India
Australia is considered to be one of the developed countries where the health care system
is wide and comprehensive as compared to different nations. The health care organization
provides a vast variety of treatments to cure acute to chronic illness (J, 2016). They hire expert
professionals to prevent the prevalence of critical conditions. On the other hand, according to
world population review, India is the second most populated and developed country in the world.
Here, the health care system is considered to be the as largest industry in India (World
Population Review , 2019).
Issues faced by the Health Care System in Australia and India
For the timely and effective treatment of the patients, Australian health organizations
hold great prestige in the organizations of Economic Cooperation and development. However,
with the increment in the occurrence of chronic diseases, the shift in the needs and treatment of
the patient increases in health care cost (advances technology) and tightening of the allocated
budgets, and discrimination has restricted these organizations in offering services to the patients.

Although to cure the patients, the government authority of Australia provides a different range of
funds (J, 2016). Despite that lack of efficient budget and multiplication of cost the capacity of
maintaining the health of old age people has become limited for them. Hence, it can be said that
with the increasing aged population, technological cost, economic disparities and inadequate
allocation of funds has burdened the healthcare organization ( Dixit & Sambasivan, 2018).
In India, various issues occur in providing effective treatment to the patients. Issues like
economic disparities, expensive health services and lack of medical research have hindered the
flow of medical treatment to the patients.
Role of Government in providing services in Australia
For Australian citizens, Health Care Organization offers reasonable services and effective
treatment. The health and life of people are depended upon their quality services. For the endless
services, Federal, state and Territory government’s bodies, provide the funds. The foundation of
the system is based upon primary care offered by the GPs, medical experts, care volunteers, and
midwives. All these government bodies are considered as the support systems of hospitals as
they are accountable and liable to provide funds, assistance to doctors and midwives, subsidizing
major health system through Medical Benefits Scheme (MBS) and Pharmaceutical Benefits
Scheme (PBS) (The Australian health system, 2019).
Health Care Strategies of India V/S Strategies of Australia
However, this varies from nation to nation. Like in India, despite being a powerful
economy, the prevalence of chronic diseases like Diabetes, Tuberculosis, and Cancer is very
much high which has increased the mortality rate. Economic disparities have also lead to

increment in health-related problems. Whereas in Australia dementia. Lung cancer and stroke are
common illnesses. Health issues like obesity, lack of physical activity have majorly contributed
to this illness (The Australian health system, 2019). Each state in India is responsible for
supporting the hospitals and has formed “National Health Policy in 1983 and is promoting
private health sectors through policy “ Ayushman Bharat Policy” (India Brand Equity
Foundation, 2019). However, during access to the health care services, issues like inequalities,
lack of knowledge and training to the midwives and doctors can lead to adverse events. From the
heath is the model of Australia, India can understand and bring changes in their system. Doctors
and government can perceive that Australian medical professionals are sophisticated and use
hybrid models and activity-based funding which is an efficient method enhancing the funding
system. The health system of Australia provides training to their experts so that effective
treatment can be provided to the patients.
Conclusion
It can be concluded heath care system of different offers their service according to the
demographics and illness. However, funding issues occur in every nation. This has been
demonstrated through the Australian and India health care system, where due to the lack of
adequate budget services have become ineffective.
