Social Research: Factors Influencing Relocation to Northern Territory

This essay presents a social research perspective on the author's decision to relocate to the Northern Territory of Australia to work as a pharmacist. The author explores various factors influencing this decision, including the region's climatic conditions, which are similar to their current location in Saudi Arabia. I am a pharmacist and recently, I have planned to relocate to Australia. In Australia, I
specifically want to live in a particular region that is the Northern Territory of Australia. For this,
I have studied the climatic condition of the Northern Territory, the relocation cost of that area,
expenses for living in that region . I will have to live in that for a long period of time as I will
work as a pharmacist by profession in that area. The selection of the particular area is very much
difficult for me. However, there are various benefits that drives me towards choosing the
Northern territory of Australia as a place of relocation for continuing my profession of a
pharmacist. In this write up the reasons for choosing the specific area of Australia is discussed.
The climatic condition of the Northern Territory of Australia is quite similar to the
country, Saudi Arabia that I am living currently. During the dry seasons, most of the days are
sunny and the temperature is almost 32 degree centigrade. The evening temperature is very much
lower and it seems cool. During the month of November to April, the temperature may touch the
figure of 39 degree centigrade(Australia's Northern Territory 2018). In Saudi Arabia, during the
hottest month, the temperature is almost 36 degree centigrade that is quite closer to the highest
temperature of Australia. In addition to this, the rain fall of the two country region is also quite
similar(Holiday weather, 2018). The similarity in the climatic condition of the two regions
drives me to choose the Northern Territory of Australia.
In the northern territory of Australia, most of the houses have tropical gardens that have
dense foliage. As a result, local people are involved in growing vegetables and fruits of their
own. So those things are quite easily available in the local markets in a very affordable cost. In
comparison to the supermarket products, those fruits and vegetables are more fresh and healthy.
In that region government scheme helps very much and government is giving concession of
$23,928 in the stamp duty for buying the home(NT Government 2018). In addition to this,

$10,000 is also given for renovation of the house that is previously used. In case of new house
the first home owner grant is about $ 26,000 and the home goods grant is almost $ 2000. This
benefit from the government is another reason of choosing Northern Territory of Australia(NT
Government 2018).
Recently, I came to know about the relocation costs of The Northern Territory of
Australia and the amount they are giving is very much profitable. The government of Northern
Territory, have decided to spend almost $50 million in next decade to motivate people for
relocating in the Northern Territory of Australia. People who will relocate to that region will get
$3000 cash payments as relocation costs. However, this amount will be double for the relocation
of two person and if a family relocates to Northern Territory, they will get $ 7000 as relocation
cost(Smith 2018). In addition to this, additional $ 1250 will be given to the relocating people for
managing expenses like registration of vehicles, giving payments to the child care support after 6
months. The family people who live for five years in the Northern Territory, will get almost $
15,000. This economic benefit will help me in living in the Northern Territory of Australia as a
pharmacist(Smith 2018).
In addition to this, recent government policies will be very fruitful for me as a
pharmacist. Nowadays, I have come to know that, pharmacists have high demand in Australia
specifically in the Northern territory region. The pharmacists are assumed as high priority
professionals and pharmacists are offered a huge amount of money as their salary. The
pharmacists are engaged in providing a very high quality health care services in the Northern
Territory of Australia and along with this from reports it is evident that the industry needs more
number of pharmacist to serve the community in a better way. The pharmacists are engaged in

giving readily accessible health care services to the community people of that region(Haggan
2018).
This need of pharmacist in the industry encourages me to relocate to the Northern
Territory. I think I can help the industry by sharing my knowledge as a pharmacist. I will be very
grateful if I will a get a chance of serving the industry in the Northern Territory of Australia and
I have an immense respect for that profession as well.
