AI Summary
This essay presents a Human Service Worker's perspective on the welfare system in Australia, defining welfare as being related to the happiness and well-being of people. The role of a human service worker involves ensuring that individuals are well-fed and healthy, particularly those who cannot support themselves and require financial assistance. Welfare goals include promoting work, education, and a better living standard for disadvantaged groups, such as the poor, developmentally challenged, and those below the Federal Poverty Level. Government agencies and human service centers support these individuals with services like Medicaid, food stamps, and housing assistance, focusing on developing and supporting those with little to no income, the disabled, and the elderly.

1WELFARE SYSTEM IN AUSTRALIA
This paper is going to elaborate on presenting my perspective on welfare, being a
Human Service Worker.
As a Human Service Worker, I hold professional job in different settings like homes,
houses, correctional centres, community health service centres, child, youth and family
service agencies etc. It is a very challenging job role and it requires diverse factors in human
behaviour. To me, welfare is something related to the happiness and the well-being of people
(Taylor, 2015). As a human service worker, I am in charge of human being’s welfare,
ensuring that they are well-fed and healthy. For this purpose to be achieved, these human
beings, who cannot support themselves, should be provided with financial support and this is
called Welfare. However, goals of every welfare varies because it looks towards promoting
the work pursuance, education and in most of the cases, a better living standard as well
(Greve, 2018). The human beings who are in need of welfares are the ones who are poor,
developmentally challenges or the disadvantaged group of a nation. They are also the ones
whose level of income are below the FBL (Federal Poverty Level) or BPL (Below Poverty
Line).
People or individual who is on welfare are supported by the government agencies or
human service centres with free or highly discounted services and goods to live their daily
life. It can be done through providing them with Medicaid, food stamps or even housing
assistance. However, welfare is something that is usually aimed towards developing and
supporting individual with very little to no income, the disabled and the elderly.
