Australia and its support to the USA
Australia is considered to be one of the best allies of the United States. The countries
maintain a great amount of solidarity among themselves which cultural affinities, common
interests and democratic values that are shared by the countries. The Australian government is

in order to deal with Chinese territorial claims (Wesley 2017). The maintenance of the alliance
towards the United States would further help Australia to secure help in order to hold on to their
place in the Asian markets.

Australia–US Alliance and Australia's Role in Southeast Asia” sheds light on the increasing
complexity of the place held by Australia in the markets of Asia. The authors tend to highlight
