INTRODUCTION
The airline industry is changing at rapid scale with change period of time. In this
contemporary business environment, it is becoming crucial to be well aware and active towards
market situations so that goals are accomplished and business activities are carried out in correct

way (Alola, 2021). With this change time period, all policies , procedures were changed after the
attack of 9/11. Main aim of this essay is to analyse the impact of 9/11 on aviation industry of
Australia. This report consists of a brief overview about aviation industry, impact of 9/11 and
change of Australia government decisions.

Overview of Aviation Industry
The aviation industry is being a major part of growth of economy as well as country
development. This industry has a deep impact on innovation, technology, business etc. It is big
sector which consists of three components such as commercial, general, military. This too consists
of commercial aviation such as GoJet, SkyWest Airlines etc. This industry is developing and
taking major part in generating of revenue as well as profit to many areas. Accordance with
Australian government, aviation industry is rising and is also adapting many ways to access to new
customers as well as countries in order to sustain for longer period of time. Most of the profit
revenue is generated by this industry and also it is examined that wide range of people are being
hired at larger scale (Broadbent, 2019).
From the above picture, it is stated that aviation industry of Australia is changed and it is
generating a high amount of profit to business as well as country. This picture reflects that at both
international as well as domestic level, aviation industry of Australia is growing at fast scale. This is
too analysed that Australian industry provides 26.9 million seats to customers and across the globe.

9/11, a dark day
According to viewpoint of (Brueckner, 2020), travel and tourism sector in Australia is big
and comprises of many types of functions, operation and activities. As the activity on internet is
increasing, illegal activities and operation's are too taking place with majority level. 9/11,
September, series of airline hijackings and suicide attacks committed in 2001 by 19 militants linked
with Islamic extremist group al-Qaeda against targets in U.S. These attacks cause several deaths in
New York City and Washington. It was reported that around 2750 people were killed in New York,
184 at Pentagon and 40 in Pennsylvania.
After this attack of 9/11, everything got changed and all were scare of uncertain situations.
Moreover, it is seen that every country changed their policy and procedure of every functions as
well as operation's. After this attacks, United States and also other countries such as Australia,
India , United Kingdom changed their rules and regulations (Crase, 2020). They become more strict
& enhances the level of security. This day was also to be known as a dark day. It also impacts on the
aviation industry of Australia at larger scale. The policies and procedures of aviation industry of
Australia also changes with new security and technologies.
Moreover, it was too reported that it resulted in protecting of people and sector with proper
considerations. Government of Australia makes assure that every thing is being carried in correct
way. So, from above matter it has been analysed that it is crucial to focus on whether the airline
processes, procedures and other operations are carried out in correct way or not.
Negative effects of 9/11
The effect of 9/11 created a large temporary impact that reduces the demand by more than
31% within five months. The business of airline industry was down and it was not easy to retain
customers in future period of time. There are various negative effect which created a impact on
Australian aviation industry and are mentioned as follows-
Demand of aniline industry was declining and profit of all the airline companies were
down.
Customers and people were afraid of travelling through air and mostly preferred train as an
alternative.
Another negative effect was that with reduction in demand, resources were left idle and
which results in wastage of resources.
Australian government comes up with new rules and regulations for example Australian
aviation industry adopted fatigue management with aim of better understanding of modern flying
conditions, scientific understanding of human performance etc. (Groppi, 2019).

Another new practice which was adopted by airline industry is to use new equipment that
unpin communications, surveillance and air traffic management.
Further, it is seen that new standards, training and licensing were updated with new
guidelines.
After a brief analysis of above report, it is concluded that it is crucial to focus on use of
internet and other technologies so that it is easy to make effective decisions. Moreover, it is
examined that market and research analysis is needed to be maintained so that all decisions are done
in most efficient way (Kilgour., 2017).
CONCLUSION
After a brief analysis of above report, it has been concluded that occur and impact of 9/11
attack changed the overall structure of aviation industry. Due to use of internet and advanced
technology, many illegal activities have been carried out. Australian government and aviation
industry has changed their ways of doing business activities. Furthermore, it is too stated that this

terror attack enhances the awareness amongst people regarding illegal or uncertain situations. With
changing period of time, aviation industry within Australia has created a massive changes in their
operations as well as management.
