Introduction
The health care system refers to a system by which the health care facilities can be
organized, financed and delivered to the customers. It involves access issues, resources and
expenditures. It aims at providing better health care facilities to the society in order to
improve their quality of lives. Institutions that are engaged in this field earn profits to remain
viable and to continue their activities. It aims at providing benefits to the society by fulfilling
their requirements (Baum, 2016). The social institution chosen for the purpose of this study is
the Australian health care system and the framework chosen for the same purpose is
Australian framework of safety and quality for improving healthcare. The main aim of the
study is to discuss about the Australian health care system and the framework used. The
paper will therefore discuss on the framework, the theoretical concepts of the system, and
evaluation of the overall impact of the system on the society.
Description of the framework of the system
The framework of the Australian health and quality of health care provides high-
quality and safe health care activities by focusing on the customers, by being information
driven and safety organization (Duckett & Willcox, 2015). By keeping the customers in the
centre the framework aims at providing health care faculties to the customers as and when
require by them. It also ensures that the staff treats the patients with much respect and dignity
to their values, choices and needs. It helps in also creating better relationship between the
patients, their families and others. It also makes sure that the positive experiences of the
patients are reported to them. The framework further is based on providing facilities and
services that are information driven such that evidence and up to date knowledge can be got.
Therefore all the necessary data is collected, analysed and placed back for improvement. The

framework further supports safety organization. It involves makes safety a central feature for
all activities and it helps in guiding the staff and properly funding all activities. Therefore the
framework is aimed at developing various methods such that the customers can get the
services as and when required by them. It aims at improving the knowledge of people about
the health care facilities.
Demonstration of clear understanding of the theoretical ideas and concepts
of the system
The Australia healthcare system is principally composed of two components: public
health institutions which exist to provide basic healthcare services to the general population
and private hospitals and nursing homes which are run by private individuals and whose basis
for operation is solely for earning profits (Wakernman et al., 2017). From this, it is evident
that the theoretical idea which lies at the conceptualisation of Australia’s healthcare system
bears close resemblances to the Scandinavian model (Wendt, 2014), where public health
institutions exist side-by-side with private hospitals and nursing homes, the former possessing
the ability to provide free healthcare to the masses but not at the expense of private
individuals who desire to provide healthcare and earn a profit from doing so. It is also
comparable to the Medicare system which is in vogue in the United States (Robinson et al.,
2015), where health insurance is provided for patients who opt for obtaining quality care
from private health institutions.
Evaluation of the impact of the Australian health care System on the
Australian society
All the local authorities, government and various other parties have an impact on the
health of the Australian society with the help of their activities (Orthwein, 2017). They are

engaged in providing various medical benefits pharmaceutical benefits, provide health
networks, and provide health insurance and various other activities. The Medicare benefits
helps the patients to pay less when they have been indulging in lot of medical services
activities. The Australian society can care and medical facilities of high quality due to
existence of such systems. They can be updated with all the latest information reading health
care practices and this is how they can take some major decisions. It informs the people about
their rights of health care (Willis, Reynolds & Keleher, 2016). They can help in sharing
decisions making regarding the health care facilities by entering into partnership with them.

Therefore from the above discussion it can be concludes that the health care facilities
of different countries play a very important role in determining the health of the society.
