Introduction
Poverty can be measured in terms of the proportion of the total number of people and their
income. It is referred to as the insufficient amount or lack of need factors. It not only affects
the survival life of an individual but increases the deficiency of living need. Australia is the
most developed country in the world but still after 2017 I, it affects the poverty line.
According to the recent trend, it was observed that people living in Australia tend towards the
poverty rate. The reason behind is that people are a move towards the pension benefit without
making engagement in the earning income. It was observed that this rate continuously
growing. For this reason, is it includes families and elderly people who living single. Rose in
the poverty rate shows that Australian people become more dependent on the Australian
without thinking about its examining capacity. It will highly affect the growth rate of the
nation as well (Lampert,et.al., 2019).
Australia initiates pension plan and benefits for the single parent and the elders but that
doesn’t mean that people are completely depending on that pension benefits.
The reason behind poverty:
Change society trend: Australia is counts in the developing country so that it starts benefits
for its population. It is count as help from the government side to its people. It has to be
understood to the divorcee lady that government provide insufficient money and it is only for
surviving. But they are completely dependent on the government helps without finding any
source of income.
Unemployment: Australia faces unemployment issues to the elder’s people. Because
industries are not provided with any kind of job the elder people. They only prefer young
generation because they have excellent thinking capacity in the individual. Due to this reason,
elder people are not able to find a job and accomplish their basic need. Due to this reason,
Australia raises its poverty rate from 2016 to 2017.
Major diseases: It is the most effective reason for poverty which is increases. Australia is
considered as the most expensive country in the world. If somebody affects from major
diseases, it requires a large investment cost which pushes them into the poverty line.

According to the report, it has been analysed that people mostly affects from severe disease
investment. Earning source is less and the diseases are occupied more.
Solution for reducing poverty rate
Alternative trend: Government should provide a small scale job to that elder person and
divorcee lady. Because it will be difficult to find a job so, the government need to move as a
support for those who willingly like to work and effectively want to earn for its family
development and for its accomplishing its basic needs. It will be a helping hand from the
government and non –government association.
Provide paid leave: All the organization must integrate and provide some specific paid leave
to the elder people so that their service is adjusted according to their need. It will help to
reduce the pressure and elder people also like to prefer a job. It raises the income source of
the nation as well as it increases the standard of their lifestyle. Paid leave is a factor which
increases the attraction towards the job (Hérault & Jenkins, 2019).
Free treatments for poor people: Government should start a free treatment that has not been
capable to invest a large amount on their disease. It reduces the poverty line and its impact on
the good nation. Fit people can become an income source and able to contribute financially to
the nation. The poverty line is affected by the severe disease which and elders people are not
capable to invest money from its pension and complete their need.
Improvement in management: The developing countries have sufficient resources but it
requires proper management to achieve the desires factor. It requires the proper utilization of
resources like water and electricity. If urban is utilized it properly then-rural area people will
also able to utilize all the resource efficiently.
The above research mentions the reason for increasing poverty in Australia and concludes
that the main reason behind this is the increasing dependency of Australian citizens on
pension income only (The Guardian, 2019).
Conclusion
Some of the other contributing factors for poverty were found out to be changing social
trends, unemployment, diseases etc. The solution to this increasing poverty rate can be
provided by the citizens and the government itself. Some of the basic solutions include
introducing some alternate trends, provision fir more paid leaves for employees, free
treatment for poor people and improvement in the overall management style of individual
organizations. It can be finally concluded that although poverty is increasing at a worrying

rate in Australia it can be easily curbed by applying some easy to implement laws and
working towards a new economically strong society.
