Introduction:
There is a crucial role for startups to build new job opportunities, new innovations, new products,
new services, etc. Startup Muster is greatest survey which is done for Australia to encourage
them. The report of 2018 shows biggest startup in technology and also for current scenario is
artificial intelligence. This report gives limelight to various topics such as Methodology,
founder’s profile, Funding, etc. to give broader view to startups.

Methodology:
Startup muster was greatest survey conducted for startup ecosystem. This survey was launched 5
years ago to know about various parameters such as challenges faced by people, Opportunities,
etc. so they can improve progress in startups. It was available online from 14 August 2017 to 13
August 2018. There were People who have already taken part previously were give updated
content. The total participation came to be as:
1. Startup founders who have gone through this survey were 1,617.
2. Future Startup Founders who have gone through this survey were 803.
3. Supporters who have gone through this survey were 1,056.
The total answers provided by these were 140,259. After survey provided by these respondents,
cleaning, process was involved with validation and review was done manually. The outcome
after cleaning with validation process comes out to be:
1. The verified Startup founders came out to be 777.
2. The Future Startup Founders comes out to be 321.
3. The Startup supports came out to be 654.
Marketing and advertising for this survey were done by means of social media such as LinkedIn,
Facebook, Twitter, etc., Email and Newsletter.
The results came out to be that technology was a major element for startups marketing. The
common parameters which are complied with startups which were as follows:

4. Scale

The x-axis in graph is for number of startups and y-axis is for year from 2015 – 2018.
In 2015, No of startups were 954.
In 2016, No of startups were 1085.
In 2017, No of startups were 1675.
In 2018, No. of startups were 1465.
From 2015 to 2017, the number of startups is increasing at prominent rate, but for 2018 the no of
startups is decreasing at minor rate. This graph could also be made with a Bar graph.

The new startups between 2015 and 2016 were 782. From 2016 to 2017, new startups was
increased to 1291. From 2017 to 2018, major decrease rate occurs to 712.

According to gender evaluation: Male community is more engaged then female community in
startups. 77.1% is assigned to male and in relation to females, 22.3% is assigned to it. The graph
could be made with a line chart.
According to Founders age: The age 20 to 40 is constantly increasing and then decreasing at
prominent rate both for Startups founders and future founders.
According to their strong element: More proportion is for General Business operations, Project
Management, Strategy, Marketing, Customer Service, etc.
Founders and Future founders came from: 35.7% Founders and 40% Future Founders come
outside of Australia.
According to Educational Institutes: The future founders who are currently studying are
20.1%. The most attended institute is University of New South Wales.

assigned to them.
Critical events: The most critical events in founding startup is Identifying a compelling
opportunity and Solve problem that is been experienced.
The ratio of skills present The skills which is presented in current scenario as General Business
Operations, Strategy, Software Development, Project Management, and Product Management.
Where Founders are met? : The ratio which is more prominent is working together people are
generally founders of startups.
Hindrances in founding a Startup: There were various prominent circumstances such as stable
income needed, financial dependents, lack of technical skills, etc. The biggest hindrance was
needed for stable income.
Helping hand for founding a startup: Membership, Coworking, and Legal Assistance were
more helpful to find a startup according to their ratios as 58.4%, 50.2%, and 40.6%.

part-time employees is 55.6%. Full-time job functions are more for general business operations

Need for startups: The major need defined according to ratio procured is Media Exposure for
startups.

 The major plan made by founders for coming year is to expand sales and undertaking capitals
for raising them.
 The major plan procured after next coming year is an expansion of sales beyond Australia.
