each other in an effective manner. It has become the personal remote for the life. Along with
that, the use of tablets, laptop, desktops and Ipads have a significant role in the life of
Australians. There are various businesses that adopted this technology to run its operation in an
efficient manner. Laptop or tablet PC is considered as the most functional of entire devices of the
mobile and it entails features of a workstation PC. These services come with the support of the
network for Wi-Fi and Ethernet. It has been analyzed that phones, tablets, laptops, Ipads are able
to provide the support to web surfing, instant messaging, support email and VoIP connections
and other application programs (Ozok, Benson, Chakraborty, and Norcio, 2008). Australians have never
supposed more control in the palm of their hands and gradually more attained by connected
devices in their homes and cars. The research will be defined the critical evaluation of the
sources in which 2 articles related to the topic will be elaborated in a significant manner. The
relevancy, reliability, accuracy, timeliness, lack of bias and completeness will be elaborated in
the context of chosen articles. Literature review section will provide the better understanding of
the topic with the help of various authors’ journal articles, books and internet sources. At last, the
conclusion will be drawn from the research to conclude the chosen topic in an adequate manner.

them have been selected for this section. It has been found from the research that people are
moving towards the latest technology and start to use tablet PCs for each purpose whether it is
personal or business purpose. There are two articles chosen for this section in which one of them
is “Mobile technology: academic libraries in Australia and beyond” and second is “Deciding
When to Use Tablets for Business Applications”.
Relevance
Relevancy is the major aspect which enhances the trust of the readers on the paper. It has been
found that the first article is relevant as it covers the methodology part where it is apparently
mentioned that from which methods data has been collected. Survey method is being conducted
in the first article to gather the information and references are given to the article to show the
relevancy of the statement (Yee, 2012). On the other hand, another article is showing the relevancy
with the help of framework in the context of using tablets. The descriptions of the authors are
given at the end of this article which shows that they are a professor of well-known universities
(Pitt, Berthon and Robson, 2011).
Reliability
Reliability is considered as the degree to which an assessment tool develops stables and reliable
outcome. The first article is designed to assess the learning about the usage of mobile phones in
the country of Australia. The graphs of the data are made in the research with other services such

The mobile phone has become the essential part of daily lives as people use it even for small
things. Technology enhances the productivity of the employees and revenues of the company. It
has been found that the usage of mobile phones, tablets, Ipads and desktop is not limited up to
business purposes, it has been using in schools, NGOs, hospitals and many more places because
the daily activities can be handled in an efficient manner with the help of these technologies. As
per my viewpoint on the topic, there is a lot of importance of these technologies in Australian or
even it can be said that in the progress of Australia, the role or contribution of these technologies
is wide (Rauschnabel, Brem and Ro, 2015). Deloitte has conducted the Deloitte mobile consumer survey
of Australian people in which 2000 people of Australia are involved between the 17 to 75 age of
people and it has been found from its survey that there were many Aussies who even do not
imagine their life without mobile phones (Deloitte, 2017). It has shown that mobile phone has kept
wide importance in the lives of Australians. It has been found from this survey that more than 2
billion phones are sold out in 2016. It is showing that these technologies are increased the
businesses of various mobile centres in Australia which is helpful to enhance the employment. It
is the biggest reason why Australia is developed country as it focuses each factor of employment
and development of the country that facilitates to make economic stability within the country.
There are so many companies that provide mobile phones, laptops and desktop such as Apple,
Samsung, Sony HTC and many more. People of Australia buy these gadgets as per their budgets
became the prices are differentiated as per the feature of products (Baran, 2014).
As per the Mobile phone has become an integral part of their lives as it is able to increase the

devices to get access to internet in which the rate of younger age is higher in comparison to old
ones. Age is the major factor in using devices as it has been evaluated that young age uses
various devices to access the internet than old age group. Of those aged 18-35, 87% uses 3
devices to access the internet in which mobile phone, laptop and iPod included. On the other
hand 38% of people use more than 5 devices to access the internet (McCoy, 2016). As at May 2014,

laptop to access the internet in their work while 27%of online Australians prefer desktop to make

Australia to access the internet but it declined slightly due to involvement of mobile devices in
the life of citizens (Oduor, et. al., 2016). An increasing number of people are choosing portable smart
devices such as smart phones and tablets. For instance, management of Melbourne Marriott used
tablet to get feedback from customers about the provided services. It has been estimated that 12.5
million people used mobile and tablet devices to access the internet. It has been found that
medical industry, hospitality industry and clothing industry are taken use of mobile and tablet
devices to describe its strategy to the customers it would not be possible without these devices to
sustain in the competitive advantages (Thorpe, et. al., 2015). There is an another example of
Woolworth that uses advanced technology in its operation to increase the efficiency of the
employee as well as business in which it uses various devices such as laptop, desktop, mobile
phone and other devices to provide adequate services to the customers. This business keeps

number of customers and make the opportunity for potential customers as well. It increases the

devices facilitate much businessman to bring the customers from all over the world with the help
of internet. Information technology sector of Australia has got enough success by making various
applications of different sector which are implemented in mobile devices as well as laptop or

the products and services without going anywhere by accessing internet. There is number of big

done with the help of these devices. Along with that, it has been found that communication is an
important element for the business. People of Australia have been making every possible use of
smart devices. All because of such smart devices life has become much simpler. It has been
found that employees of IT to be attentive about their e-mails as employees handle many critical
applications and their availability. Employee is able to do office work, read the email of their
phone and iPad anywhere anytime which makes their work easy. Laptops are daily back luggage
for office and nowadays they are so flexible and easy to carry. For entertainment 24x7, these
devices help people to watch 4k videos anywhere anytime which are its best part. People can
order any product online with a flick with my phone or iPad which has provided ease to my life.
People are connected with family on video calls, who stays in a different part of the world, is so
easy which keeps me and them happy always (Sharma et. al., 2014). It is apparent that the usage of
mobile phones, laptops, desktop, Ipad and tablets in Australia has a significant role (Howard, Chan
and Caputi, 2015).

In the limelight of above discussion, it can be concluded that the smart devices have become
important for the lives of people of Australia. The research has been conducted with the help of
various sources such as journal articles, books, internet sources and many more. The two articles
are critically reviewed in this research in which reliability, relevancy, time, completeness and
lack of bias are considered. The Mobile phone has become an integral part of their lives as it is
able to increase the relationship with those people who live outside of Australia. Literature
