AUTISM CLINIC
Introduction
This assignment aims at creating a checklist and defining the roles and responsibilities that
the employee of the clinic has and how to use the checklist in order to diagnose the patients.
It also talks about tracking the safety of the patient and staff by following the checklist
appropriately.
Discussion
Autism clinic is a healthcare centre that aimed at providing proper treatment, medication and
counselling to people suffering from Autism or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Autism is
a prevalent development disorder that are mainly discovered at the age of 2-3 years. It is a
severe disorder that makes it a challenge for the patient to communicate and socially interact.
People suffering from this disorder has their own way of handling challenges and has a
repetitive form of behaviour.
Checklist is an effective method of systematic evaluation of an individual. It gives a step by
step instructions to their employee on how to carry on activities in order to complete their
responsibility. Checklist for Autism diagnosis disorder will include the following:
Wear a well cleaned and hygienic mask
Make sure the hand and clothes are cleaned and sanitized properly
Make the patient sit and comfort him with basic personal questions
Observe the patient and analyse if he/she shows some symptoms of the disease
Diagnose your patient well with all the necessary steps
Prescribe him/her the necessary steps that needs to be followed and provide them with
another appointment after a couple of days

Ask the person accompanying the patient to fill a quick feedback form in order to
record his/her experience and better the services
Employees of the clinic are supposed to follow the questions given on the checklist above
and diagnose the child accordingly. Above mentioned questions are some of the questions
that help in knowing if the child has symptoms showing autism disorders. The employees in
the clinic need to ask all the question in the order given and if the answer to the question is
YES then the box needs to be checked otherwise it needs to be crossed.
Once the checklist is cross-checked with the patient, the employees should focus on
evaluating the degree of severity of the disorder followed by prescribed meditation and
counselling. Consequence that would occur in case 5(1) will be accurate and authentic as all
the steps are followed whereas in case 5(2) the employee partially uses the checklist, hence
the result will not be 100 % accurate and may lead to incorrect medication.
Conclusion:
Hence, from the above discussion it can be concluded that checklist play a significant role in
tracking safety both for the patient and for the staff. Autism clinic provides checklist to their
employees so that a step by step process is defined to the employee to eliminate the risk of
safety and inaccurate diagnosis.
