Self-driving cars work with the help of simple yet quite complex system of IOT. The
internet of things helps in allowing the devices to get connected quite easily within the cloud-
based system. Therefore, the vehicles are coupled with the IOT based system which helps in
sharing information about the traffic or any other obstacles that are present in order to
provide proper guidance while the vehicles are moving. Hopefully, auto driving vehicles are
considered as safer as compared to the traditional vehicles. A computer system that is based
on IOT technology will generally consider all the conditions of driving at a rate at which the
human minds are unable to do it. The driverless cars are believed to be helpful in eliminating
as well as reducing number of accidents as well as facilities due to reckless as well as unsafe
driving.
The auto-driving cars have some significant features that makes it much more unique
than traditional vehicles. Presence of adaptive cruise control feature is quite advantageous in
maintaining desired distance and for controlling the speed of the vehicles whereas the
automatic forward collision braking assists in reducing frontal collision, alerting the drivers
about the accidents and generally ensures that the vehicles stops in time for avoiding the
chances of accidents. In addition to this, it is found that the feature of automatic parking that
is present in IOT based auto driving vehicles helps in providing the facility of automatic
parking that is found to be very much advantageous. Moreover, the IOT based vehicles
assists in providing the feature of autopilot for controlling the vehicles as per the traffic.
An auto driving vehicle does not come without concerns or risks. When a system is
connected with the internet it generally helps in opening up the ability of the project hackers
for gaining access of such type of systems. It is found that if a hacker is able of gaining
proper access of the driverless car’s computing system they it generally helps in gaining
control over the entire auto driving vehicles. It is found that great strides need to be made in

the IOT and self-driving cars for preventing all types of possible attacks to the computing
system of the vehicles. In addition to this, there is also proper concerns about how the auto
driving vehicles react in comparison to traditional vehicles when they are generally
integrated.
Self-driving vehicles are considered as the future of transportation. As per some of the
reports, it is found that 10 million vehicles will generally hit the road by the year 2020.
However, for all the optimism, the surrounding autonomous cars creates scepticism as well as
concern due to the risks and challenges. Moreover, it is found that autonomous delivery will
be started in the coming future will be helpful however it is analyzed in spite of the IOT
technology, human resources are needed for delivering the product within the house.
