in the major cities of Australia. This business run by two owners; Jack Greig and Daniel Cox
those have experience of several years are now experiencing some severe issues with their
existing warehouse management system as the system is not capable to handle the highly
dynamic procedures which can provide help in moving as well as storing the inventory at low
cost and with great efficiency. For any business, its warehouse management system plays a vital
role as it helps in storing the inventories of the business and some previous records of the
business that can be analyzed properly in order to gain more revenue for the business so it is
important to use the proper warehouse management system. This is the reason Jack and Daniel
thought to upgrade or replace the existing warehouse system so that they can make the
warehouse system advantageous for the business (Dumais et al., (2016)). Developments of the
new auto-parts warehouse management system will provide help them with functionality which
can be applied throughout all the core processes of the warehouse and to transfer their warehouse
in an advantage that can be competitive for them. In a new system, they expect that the system is
capable of receiving all types of the orders throughout Australia or maybe outside of it, maybe
capable to control the inventories and make it easy to update the inventory on regular basis.
Moreover, the system should perform basic operations like order processing, pick up and process
orders, order load management, outbound documentation, system alerts, packing orders, and
crystal reports so that business can be done efficiently and in minimum investment.
Capabilities
As Jack Greig and Daniel Cox decided to develop a new Auto-part warehouse system for greater
efficiency in minimum cost they also expect that the system provides a great output for them so
that they can efficiently handle all the basic operations of the business which can provide
benefits to the business (Atieh et al., (2016)). The adopted system is the software of warehouse
management through which the inventories of the auto-parts can remain updated so that people

can check the availability of their requirements online and can order their needs. Through this,
time that is consumed by taking orders on calls and emails can be saved (Rusiñol et al., (2015)).
Also, the system can perform activities like picking up orders, processing of the orders,
documentation of the outbound, provide system alerts, reports and pack the orders and keep
changing the status of the inventories availability so that customer remains updated and the
business can get orders accordingly.
Benefits
There are various benefits of developing the new system. The time that was previously
consumed by taking orders through phone calls and emails can be saved (Mosweu et al.,
(2016)). Through which the employees that were hired in the business for performing these tasks
can be removed and revenue of the business can be saved as for performing these tasks they need
to pay employees. So the replacement of the human resource from a system saves the revenue of
the business. Moreover, the efficiency of the business has increased. All the activities like
updating the inventories, storing inventories take minimum time and a lot of time can be saved
and invest in different areas of the business. By proper storage of the inventories as well as
updates of the inventories it became easy for the consumers to check the availability of the
requirements and order them (Peixoto et al., (2018)). This saves the time of the customers as well
as the suppliers. Order status and packaging also consume time that can be done by the system so
that customer can remain updated about the status of the ordered auto-part and they need not
worry about the delivery of their orders if they get delayed as they can check the status online
with the help of the updated system. So overall an efficient warehouse system helps a business in
earning great revenue by providing various benefits.
