warehouse management system of the auto-parts business. The purpose of this vision document
is to determine the problems associated with the current management system and develop a
better and enhanced management system that will process all the tasks performed in the business
warehouse. This document will describe the problems that are currently present and also the ones
that may occur during the project development phase. It also describes the capabilities of the

management system. This document is also presented with the benefits that the new warehouse
management system will offer over the current warehouse management system.
Problem
The problems associated with the current warehouse management system are that it was
developed to handle minor tasks and cannot handle procedures that are highly dynamic such as
the management system performs poorly in moving and storing of inventory items during peak
productivity and in low cost. The current system is presented with very fewer functions and
cannot perform multiple tasks that are being performed in warehouses to maintain materials and
properties, and is not automated to process or pick-up orders. Problems were also seen in the
real-time processing of the system as the current management system was not designed to
process the real-time transaction. The current management system also lacks order management
system and cannot perform auto-loading of orders and process details. Therefore the business
owner’s decisions in developing the new warehouse management system that will have the
capabilities to process all the major operations that are regularly performed in a warehouse such
as managing of inventory items, receiving and processing of all orders, managing order loads and
bulk orders, processing outbound documentation and preparing crystal reports of the sales and
inventory items, and also provide system alerts to provide the details when any errors occur.

Capabilities
The current warehouse management system is designed to handle basic processes and functions
that are performed in the auto-parts warehouse. Since the growth and expansion of business, the
processes of the business has also been increased. This has made the current system’s operational
performance inefficient for the business processes as most of the tasks of the business are
dynamic and require quick resolution actions. Due to this, the current system becomes
overloaded and processes get queued up in the warehouse management system. The new system
required for the warehouse management system will provide various competitive advantages
over the currently running warehouse management system. The new proposed system will be
designed and developed according to the requirements of the business. The system that will be
designed and developed will be provided with the functions to handle the entire core major and
minor processes that are performed for managing the inventory of the business. The new system
will be designed to process all the dynamic and basic core functions of the auto-parts business
(Anđelković & Radosavljević, 2018, p. 3-10).
Benefits
The new auto-parts warehouse management system will be designed according to the
requirements of the business. This new system will benefit the business by providing various
additional support in managing the tasks and processes of the auto-parts business. Since the
current management system was designed for processing minor processes and has been
bottlenecked due to advancements in the business, the new system will be designed future-proof
so that it can be easily be upgraded as according to the business requirements. The benefits of
services that the new system will offer include core functions and task processing ability such as
controlling the inventory of the auto-parts business in which it will update all the inventory
products availability, requirements, or any other alterations if to be made. The new system will
also process the order receiving, processing, and pick-ups. This will benefit the business in
keeping the inventory updated and the authorized persons well informed. The new system will
also be designed to pick up orders and process them accordingly. It will also be designed to
handle and manage order loads during peak hours and process them accordingly. This process
will benefit the business as the system will maintain the records of inventory with any
