2LITERATURE REVIEW ON AUTO SELLING WEBSITE PROJECT
1. Background of the Website:
The website is designed for The Auto Ancillaires Ltd. The website is a kind of e-
commerce website which can also handle the inventory workloads. The main purpose of the
website is to track customer orders. Another crucial objective of the website is to handle the
warehouse. The website has a home page that will appear when a customer will try to access the
website. The customer can navigate to any other page from the home page using the menu or
other hyperlinks. As the above statements suggests, the organization is looking forward to
implement a more efficient and accurate way of communication with the customers. The website
is very user friendly so that customers can easily understand how to use it. Both the dealer and
buyer can login to the website separately. The login link is available in the main menu of the
website. It is essential to have a page from where the customers can easily contact the
organization regarding their queries. The contact page serves this purpose by providing a contact
form in the contact page. This page can be accessed using the main menu. The customer enters
their email id and their query in the respective fields and then submits the query to the website.
The website also shares the office address, contact number and support team mail address
through this page that makes the UI of the website very effective.
Currently there are no products in the website’s shop page. It is because, the website is
just a prototype and will go through various modifications later. The Footer of the page is very
good and follows conventional rules. The color combination of the contents and background
make the content more focused. The customers can also register to the website through sign up
page.

2. Problems:
The main issue was identifying the audience of the project. As the website is to be
consumer centric and must satisfy the customer needs, identifying the customers were really
important factor. Each of the category of customers of The Auto Ancillaires Ltd has different
needs. It was really difficult to fulfill almost all the customer’s need through a single website.
The second problem was identifying the technology. The website needed to be developed using
the technology that can support the requirements of The Auto Ancillaires Ltd. The ASP.Net and
MS-SQL was the first choice but PHP and MySQL along with JavaScript and Oracle were also
under consideration. In case chosen technology is not efficient, it was not possible to go back to
beginning and start developing the website from scratch using another technology. Therefore,
selecting the right technology in the first place was very important. The third problem was
understanding the exact requirements of The Auto Ancillaires Ltd and solving them using
ASP.net. The chosen technology is very powerful but it has its own challenges. The ASP.net is
more complex than other technologies and works in a completely different way.
3. New Things in Website:
First of all, an image sliding is added in the header to make the website look better. The
customers will be attracted to website as soon as they will encounter the carefully crafted image
slide. The conventional way of adding the login and signup links are at the right of the website
header or main menu. However, in this website, the links are represented as the menu items. This
will allow the customers to see the login or registration links easily. Adding the supported credit
or debit cards in the footer is not a conventional way. The Auto Ancillaires Ltd website has this
list in their website just to make sure that the customer can understand which cards the website
accepts while making payments.

4. Used Technology:
ASP.Net: The ASP.net, a framework that was developed for creating the web application,
marketed by the organization named Microsoft for permitting the programmers or web
developers developing dynamic websites (Prince 2016). It is supported by the full featured
coding languages like VB.NET or C# for developing the web applications efficiently and
effectively. This website development platform offers a programming model to its developers.
The platform can be considered as a comprehensive software architecture (Abdallah et al. 2015).
The ASP.Net also offers several services that can be crucial for developing a robust website for
personal computers and handheld devices.
MS-SQL: The MS-SQL or Microsoft SQL is a kind of RDBMS or relational database
management system. This technology was also developed by Microsoft (Gyorodi et al. 2015).
The MS-SQL is capable of storing, manipulating or retrieving data from the database like any
other RDBMS application. The MS-SQL can be referred to the best suited RDBMS application
for ASP.Net. Even visual studio, the development tool for ASP.net considers the MS-SQL as the
default database management application for ASP.Net web applications (Letkowski 2015).
5. Methods Used:
The first method is to develop the wireframe of the website to verify and finalize the
website UI design (Low, Hui and See 2015). The wireframe works as a guideline for website
user interface development. The wireframes are easy to develop and modify. For this reason, the
wireframes will be tested by the users and other stakeholders and then finial wireframe will be
considered as the ideal one.

The second method is developing a relational database that supports the website data
storage requirements (Elmasri and Navathe 2016). The database will store customer, parts, dealer
and all the other data in a central location. The ASP.Net website will connect to the website to
store, retrieve, delete or modify data as per business requirements.
6. UML Use Case Diagram:

The use case diagram shows that the customer will login, register, shop and pay through
the website. The interaction of other users with the website is also presented through the use
case. This implies that the use case diagrams states the behavior of the system.
