This report provides a comprehensive analysis of the devastating earthquakes that struck the Coastal Republic regions of Avengers, focusing on the earthquake that registered 7.1 on the Richter scale and the subsequent aftershocks. It details the situational report, highlighting the extensive damage to villages, infrastructure, and the tragic loss of life, with an estimated 3550 fatalities and 25000 houses destroyed. The situational analysis assesses the immediate aftermath, including the challenges faced by emergency responders in providing medical aid, managing the injured, and recovering those trapped in the ruins. It addresses short-term dangers like power outages and the critical need for food and medicine, as well as long-term outcomes such as health problems stemming from pollution, damaged pipelines, and the spread of diseases like cholera and diarrhea. The report emphasizes the importance of a rapid needs assessment to address both short-term and long-term crises, advocating for active search and rescue efforts, immediate medical care, disease prevention, and the restoration of housing, sanitation, and essential services, while also calling for increased support from the Metropolis city in terms of medical personnel, supplies, and infrastructure repair to facilitate the rebuilding process.

2EARTHQUAKES
Introduction
Earthquakes often cause major damage to both life and property. The damage that will be
caused is mainly dependent upon the rate at which the earthquake is taking place. In other words,
the amount of damage that is caused by the earthquake mainly depends upon the magnitude at
which the Earthquake strikes the Rector scale. There was a series of devastating earthquakes that
happened in the Coastal Republic regions of Avengers. These Earthquakes caused serious
damage to the residents and the buildings of the surrounding villages.

Situational report
The strongest of the earthquakes stroke on Sunday, on 5th of January. The time was 3:58
hours and it had a high magnitude of about 7.1 on the Richter scale. Tremors were felt and this
resulted in a second earthquake that stroke with a 6.5 on the Richter scale. These earthquakes had
a very bad impact on the residences that were located in the villages of the Gotham province.
The densely populated villages were greatly damaged. Smalville was the most affected by this
disaster.
Situational analysis
It was after this devastating earthquake that I was sent as along with some of the other
members of the emergency service department to make sure that the after-effects of the
earthquakes could be managed. I was in charge of the team and was acting as the leader. The
first course of action would be to see the amount of damage that has been caused. The main aim
was to see if the number of hazards that have been caused. It was estimated that a large number
of people about 3550 were killed and about 25000 houses were brutally destroyed. The first step
of action that I suggested my teammates take was to ensure that all the injured people are getting
a proper medical aid. The number of people that could be saved from the damaged buildings was
immediately taken to the hospital. This was followed by making up a team that could venture
into the destroyed buildings and brings out the ones who still could not be brought out. I visited
all the nearby hospital to see that whether the injured people were being given proper treatment
or not. It was seen that the hospitals were really in a very bad condition. There was a huge lack
of doctors and medical staffs than the number of injured people that were admitted. The number

of doctors was very less. So, I immediately informed the Emergency department at the
Metropolis city to send a team of doctors and other medical experts who could provide proper
assistance to the victims of the Earthquake. The number of deaths in the Earthquake affected city
would increase. As a result of this, I ordered my team to maintain a detailed list of the families
and the family members who were still missing. I would also ask the Emergency department to
send a team of electricians who would help to restore the power in places where there were
electricity outages like that of Kessels, Southbank, and others. The long-term outcomes are the
health problems that cropped up in the people. The earthquakes devastated the buildings all
around, as a result of which there was huge dust all around and this is causing a huge pollution.
Many pipelines in and around the villages have also been damaged. Diseases like Cholera and
Diarrhoea have spread out and are affecting people. The Smalville village, in particular, is
greatly affected by this issue and the water supply and the sanitation crisis is likely to continue
over there for a long time. Apart from this, people were terrified and many of them were forced
to set up their tents under the open sky and thus are exposed to several diseases. There are some
very remote regions that could not be reached very easily. Many people were affected by deathly
diseases and many of them were also being killed. One person died due to malaria and others
were also on the list of getting contaminated by the same disease because there was also the
chance of rain in the coming days. The short-term dangers like the power outages could be
minimized within some days but the food and the medicine supply had to be increased.
Rapid needs assessment
In order to make sure that that the recovery process speeds up the long terms and the
short term crisis both have to be dealt properly. Just solving the short term problems like power
outages will not be sufficient to deal with this problem. Even the long-term damages like the

diseases and the epidemics have to be properly taken care of. I will make sure that none of the
emergency team staffs are wasting their time. I will order my team have to be active in
undertaking an active search into the damaged buildings that to see if people are still trapped
inside the ruins. This will be followed by taking the injured victim to the nearby hospital.
However, I will also appoint a team of medical experts so that all the injured patients can be
given proper and timely care. There will not be any delay in the treatment process. Anti malaria
vaccinations are to be given to all the people at free of cost. Treatments for cholera and Diarrhea
have to be started and carried on properly as this will have a long term effect.

The housing and the sanitation facilities will be the next important focus. There has been a great
damage made to the houses and properties of people.

Figure7: Local residents in a trauma
Moreover, there is lack of electricity, lack of sanitation and drinking water facility as
well. So, I will be appointing the engineers who will b able to fix up the electricity lines and the
water pipelines as soon as possible. This will help in checking the rate of the water-borne
diseases like malaria. More rescue teams are to be brought with a sufficient number of food,
clothing and also good transportation facilities like jets that will help in carrying the earthquake
victims from the affected areas to the neighboring villages where they could get proper shelter.

The number of beds has to be increased in the hospitals so that number of people can be
accommodated. A team of civil engineers has to be appointed so that they can start the
construction work as soon as possible.
Conclusion
So, it can be concluded that the work of rebuilding the place must start as soon as
possible. The work must be carried on every front starting right from the hospital and medical
grounds to the reconstruction of the electricity and the sanitation facilities. More help services
and rescue teams are to be brought from the metropolis city as per the demands of the situation.
