1. WHAT ARE SURVEILLANCE EQUIPMENT USED BY AIRLINES TO INDENTIFY/MONITOR
THE BEHAVIOR OF THE PASSENGER IN THE AIR PORT.
Perception of increased threats has tighten the security measures in the airports and in flights, this
in turn has led the investigation on the new passengers screening technologies. There are three such
technologies are used in the airport and in airlines to monitor and identify the behavior of the
passengers.
 Non-imaging electromagnetic technologies
This screening technology is used at the airports that functions as a metal detector to deter
the theft and also ensures safety. In the airport this technology sensitive to the weapons
and it can be detected or triggered by the non-threat objects like shoes and belt buckles.
 Trace-detection technologies
This technology is based on the direct chemical identification like explosive and materials
will be easily detected like bombs. The images are created using the x-ray reflected on the
surface of body that are created using higher energy x-rays transmitted over body (Buttussi
and Chittaro, 2018).

 Imaging technologies:
This technologies detects nonmetallic and metallic explosives, weapons and contraband
materials under multiple layers. The image that are created by the clothing will be
examined for discern materials. This technology is used in airport to screen visitors, exit
screening employees and also helps in detecting thefts. Imaging devices that are
implemented in the airport environment are of detection technology, x-ray and millimeter
wave (nap.edu, 2018).
Advanced video analytics: Intelligent cameras form the base of video analytics in security
and surveillance equipments used by airports. These cameras use software algorithms to
detect a specified activity. For example, facial recognition technology gives the airport
authorities to find a terrorist. The behavior recognition technology helps in identifying the
left over objects.
Flexibility and scalability: IP video systems are scalable, which refers that it can grow as the
airport grows. Additional cameras can be added to the existing network.
Remote access: IP based security system can be controlled remotely over the internet. This
allows the airport authorities to control off-sites locations. The footage can be recorded
and and stored digitally.
2. HOW AND WHO MONITORS THE BEHAVIOR OF THE PASSENGERS ON BOARD ARE
MONITORED INSIDE THE AIRCRAFT.
Airline industry are regularly called to respond passenger’s incident. Cabin crew are mainly
responsible for the people behavior inside the flights. They handle all the queries and issues of the
co-passengers. Failure to comply with the cabin crew direction leads to safety and security threat.
Senior cabin crew member handles the safety briefing. Pre passenger boarding is handled by the
cabin crew members. They handles the behavior of special category passengers, obese persons,
passengers of reduced mobility, infants, prisoners, deports and children’s. SCCM’s namely single

cabin crew members will conduct the preflight briefing and carryout checks (Tang et al., 2018). Crew
commands helps in ensuring the equipment’s that are used in safe manner in airlines. Officers of the
director general will monitor the behavior of the persons who are yelling at the airport. Airport
security will be monitoring the behavior of the co-passenger before boarding to the flight. They are
the personnel who thoroughly checks the behavior of the passengers before collecting the tickets
and entering into the flights. The security checking officers will handle the passengers who possess
metal, explosive and many other items that are harmful. The ground staff also handles the behavior
of the passengers in case they avoid or lack proper knowledge on the security check. Ground staffs
are responsible for ticketing, reservations, passport checking’s and baggage and security check. They
in turn monitor the behavior of the passengers at the time of boarding and before boarding.
Standard operating procedures will be monitored by the cabin crew, ground staff, managers and
customers cares to deal with passenger’s behavior. They insist, suggest and guide the passenger
throughout the journey.
