them to achieve desired goals and objectives (Dieppe, Francis and Kindberg-Hanlon, 2021).
Business organisation like Asda uses various kinds of in person and online training and
development programs for their employees which leads the employees to perform better and
effectively handle the customers satisfying their needs also. There are various kinds of training
programs are used such as in house training, third party training and also off-site training to
enhance the skills of employees.
The various kinds of training and development includes the management training, sales
training, new employees training, mentoring program and so on. Offering training helps the
employees to be prepared for the new roles and responsibility also effectively learn about any
kind of technology update or advancement (Rožman and Štrukelj, 2021). It is also essential in
order to prepare the employees for the new environment more effectively and efficiently.
Training and development programs helps employees to determine their strength as well as the
area needed to be improved by them through proper performance review. The review also helps
the employees to determine the areas they can use additional educational opportunities and
support. Proper training and development also helps in enhancing the productivity of the
employees as the trained employees use their full potential in achieving desired goals and
objectives and enhancing the overall performance of the organisation. It helps in measuring the
performance results of the employees which leads to determining the level of improvement of the
employees, accordingly offering the pre and post training assessments (Fu and et.al., 2021). The
enhancement in the employees productivity is the measurement of effective training and
development. In context to Asda, it will help employees to enhance their task management
individually or in a team through having clarity of roles and responsibility. With increasing use
of the technology and up gradation, proper training helps employees to effectively handle the
technological changes. With the increasing cost of the employee turnover, business organisation
are continuously looking for the ways to retain employees on board for long period of time. In
case of Asda, proper training and development program will help in enhancing the performance
of the employees as well as satisfying their needs. This will help in retaining them for long

further training and development process. There are different approaches that are used by the
Asda for improving their employees and make training session to enhance their productivity
within their workplace. Some of the strategies which are used by Asda for improving their
employee's knowledge are explained below:
Instructor- led training: This is one of the traditional training strategy that is used by
the company for occurring that is used for the complex nature. Instructor give the training
to the employees of asda and provide them a regular guidelines about their own policies
and rules that are prevailing within the company (Park, 2021).
E-Learning: This is beneficial for the Asda, during covid-19 as most of the employees
are using online videos, courses and training session in the right time. This method is
helpful in minimising the time and cost of the respective company. It will be helpful for
employees and engaged with the training session and bring their employees motivated

Research Methodologies
Research philosophies
This is the procedure that is adopted by the researcher to collect and evaluate the brief
information about the different research topic. The two main philosophies are interpretivism and
positivism philosophies. interpretivism claims for the individual own perception and understand
the basic reality. Whereas, positivism assume that the knowledge of the individual is related to
independent to the chosen subject which being studied in this research (Hughes and Barlo,
2021). Hence, the researcher opted positivism philosophy as it is effective and valuable for this
present study. It takes less time and resources for attaining valuable data and positive result.
With the help of this philosophy, researcher is able to complete information for the further
research methods.
Research approaches
This stage us used to investigate with the objective and evaluate the desired information
that must be related to the particular topic. The two main approaches are deductive and
inductive, and in the present study deductive approach is used by the investigator. The main
reason for choosing this approach is, it is effective, helpful in evaluating the quantitative data in
less time and time period (Rasulov, 2021). This approach is mainly used in collecting numerical
data along with different information where the researcher a better explanation for the use of

Research choice
It is an important source for the growth of research methodology, that include
quantitative and qualitative research choice. Both are used and work in an effective manner but
on the basis of the research topic or chosen approaches, quantitative research choice is used and
provided for the reliable information in less time and cost saving approach. Hence, the researcher
choose the quantitative research choice, as it is helpful for providing effective methods and
gathering in collecting data through systematic manner. Moreover, it is said that the use of this
research choice is appropriate to make selection in quantitative research data and gives more
effective and reliable sources to generalized the result (Haynes and Smith, 2021).
Research Strategies
There are different research strategies, which is helpful in completing research with right
source of information. The main research strategies are action research, case study, experiment,
survey and etc. In this present study, survey is chosen for assist the information and collect the
data from the large population size. The main reason for collecting information and use new and

and important for valuable researcher in order to achieve objectives. This method is helpful for
collecting data and gain the reliable sources with unbiased and accurate information.
Sampling
It is basically helpful in completing the procedure and select the size of sample within the
total population through two main methods, probability and non-probability sampling method. In
this present study, probability sampling method is chosen by the researcher, as it help the
investigator to select the large scale population in less time period (Naderi-Azad and et.al.,
2021). The researcher choose the 40 respondents as the sampling size to gather the related
information to attain the objectives. The respondents are the employees of Asda and the reason
behind this is they have the good idea about the company's training and working culture.
Ethical consideration
Ethical consideration is helpful for the researcher to complete the study in appropriate
timescales. This must be take care that research participants should not be subjected to harm in
any different ways. Another approach is, researcher should follow full consent from the
participants that is related to prior to the study (Cha and et.al., 2021). In last, it should be
considered that the protection of the privacy of participants that has to be ensured by the
researcher. These ethical practices are helpful for the investigator to complete the study without
facing any type of issue or challenges in the research topic.
Validity and reliability
These two terms are related to the valid information, as they are consulting to the major
approaches for conducting the research. For using the valid and reliable data, researcher choose
the questionnaire and literature review that provide the valid and reliable data for the successful
completion of study. These two are associated to the effective growth and completion of the
challenges in effective sources that are used to complete the research in appropriate manner.
There are some major challenges which are faced by the investigator to work in different manner
and make sure for achieve research objective in efficient manner (Jayachandran, 2021).
Research limitation
This study is related to make different elements of managing human resource
management when it comes to managing training and development sessions. This study is
conducted in Asda company as their management team provide the sufficient management and

participants that is related to prior to the study (Cha and et.al., 2021).
Research limitation

conducted in Asda company as their management team provide the sufficient management and
11

training sessions. Furthermore, collecting information, communicate the information to the
respondents and design the questionnaire are the major limitation of this research (Miry, 2021).
In order to complete this research, investigator have to make improvement on the research
limitation and carry out the basic activities which is helpful in completing study on time.
Research timescale
This is referred to the time zone of the research, it is one of important source for
completion of the activities on timely basis. There are two main approaches that are used by the
researchers such as longitudinal and cross-sectional. In this study, researcher use the cross-
sectional timescale as it is taken into the consideration for assist the activities in achieving time
period and complete activities in the set time frame (Park, 2021). Furthermore, it will be helpful
for the researcher to complete their activities and allocate the funds and resources in the research
without facing any type of issues. For this researcher choose the Gantt chart, as it will be helpful
in identifying the stages and time period of the activities decided for the present study.
