Backup and Recovery Strategy

Introduction
In this present paper, we will discuss the backup and recovery strategy for small graphics design
firm. The data is generated in the business rapidly which needs to be predicted in future terms
against the data loss. The effective backup and recovery strategy helps to run the business in
long term successfully.
Backup & Recovery strategy
The backup is defined as the copy of data which includes important files for example data files
and control file. The backup is classified into two types namely, physical and logical. The
recovery of data can be made through using redo records, incremental backup, crash recovery,
media recovery, and instance recovery. Following are the principles of creating a backup and
recovery strategy:
1. Develop the multiple identical copies of data through online redo logs on various tasks.
2. Archive the logs of redo to various locations or frequent backups of achieve can be made
(Zhang, et al., 2012).
3. Develop multiple copies of control files.
4. Create regular backups of data files and control files then store those files in one or more
safe places (Yadav et al., 2013).
Disaster recovery plan
The storage comes in the form of DAS or NAS which is hardened against the data type which
destroys the unprotected data quickly. The onQ technology helps to provide high availability,

hybrid cloud disaster recovery as a service and disaster recovery (Snedaker et al., 2013). The
disaster recovery plan helps to recover the data through analysis of business process and
community needs which help to prevent the disaster. The organization needs to spend 25% on its
information system for disaster recovery (Alhazmi et al., 2013).
Conclusion
It can be concluded that disaster recovery plan helps to protect the data and recover the business
functions. It supports business functions by protecting them from disaster.
