Introduction:
In this descriptive essay, I am going to discuss the backyard of my house and specific
event or memories of my backward. My backyard is a small landscape, approximately 22 yards
behind my house. The backyard is covered with plants, trees and small shrubs around the edges
and a small swimming pool in the middle of the landscape. The side of the backyard is used for
making barbeque for the family gathering. The purpose of describing the backyard of my house
is to provide my point of view while spending some time in that very place. This paper will
illustrate the emotions, events, and lessons learned from the place in the following paragraphs.
Discussion:
My backyard is a small landscape behind my house covered with plants, shrubs and
holly plants around the edges and a small swimming pool in the middle of the landscape. When
I entered in my backyard, I saw different colors of flowers were blooming and some birds were
humming songs which immediately made me relax. I sat on the big cozy chair in silent to feel the
uniqueness of nature. I do not consider my backyard as an ordinary landscape, rather I
consider my backyard as a unique landscape that trapped millions of memories that made me
relax when I spend some time alone. Someday, when I feel little low, I cherish those
memories, especially the memories I have spent with my grandfather when I was alone. The
memories of a family get-together in the backyard of my house lightened up my mood
immediately. It is a miniature woodland of holly trees and native shrubs, each of them was
perfectly trimmed which were mimicking green flames. I sat near the pool to hear the soothing
humming of the birds. I have on hot summer days, hopping into the pool or sitting in a big cozy
chair near the pool after a long exhausting day is bliss absolute bliss. The pool in the middle of

the backyard gives a stunning view. I observed that under the baking hot sun twinkles akin to a
crystal.
When I was 7 years old, my grandfather used to take me to the backyard in the evening
for almost every day. He used to tell me stories about his childhood, how he built this place and
how it is different from the time he built the place. Life was less complicated back then and I
was quite happy in my life. While I was sitting near the pool in silent, thousands of memories
were gathering in the edges of my heart. The most refreshing memory I had in my backyard is
the family picnic where our extended family members gathered together for having a relaxing
and good time. The time of the family gathering was usually winters or autumn where nature
was cooler and one can listen to the humming of the different refugee birds. In the family
gathering, the barbeque is the most significant attraction of backyard for us. Usually in the
evening, in low light, my uncles used to play low music in the backyard and some of us used to
dance in slow music. We used to settle down in the evening with some hot dogs, hamburgers or
chicken steaks. One can smell the barbeque smoke drifting in the evening sky, making the sky
blurry and smoky. It was one of the greatest memories of my life where I had my families close
to me. Nowadays, due to fast pacing life, we do not get enough time to arrange the family
gatherings. Moreover, my grandfather died after a few years. However, the memory is still
trapped in this backyard which I cherish sometimes.
Conclusion:
On a concluding note, I want to say that the backyard of my house is the most significant
part of my house which gives me hope about living a happy life. My backyard is a small
