INTRODUCTION
Management is the process of administrating the functions of the organizations whether it is a
business entity, non-profit organization or a government body.it is the process by which the
resources are managed in the organization. There are many characteristics of management like it
is multi-dimensional, dynamic in nature and also in tangible.in the organization there are some
objectives of management like survival, generating profit margin and growth of the organization
by the help of an effective management (Ansar, and Baloch, 2018).it helps in achieving the
goals, increases the efficiency and helps in achieving the personal objectives as well. The report
will include the business types and operations of the very well-known company i.e. Balfour
Beatty Plc. also all the management strategies and the marketing mix of the company has been
illustrated in the report. The functions of the Balfour Beatty Plc. has been elaborated in the report
like recruitment and selection process, employee relation and talent management.

1. Background of the organisation, the type of business and its area of operation
Balfour Beatty is an infrastructure group that operates internationally. It is based in the
United Kingdom with major industries in the construction, commercial, infrastructure, smart
building, sustainability and environmental engineering. It was founded in the year 1909 by
Andrew Beatty and George Balfour. The company provide finances, creates, builds, develops
and maintains the efficient and the innovative infrastructure that supports the economic growth,
communities and the daily life activities. With the assistance of the partners and the supply chain
of the small and large firms, the company is able to maintain an important infrastructure that the
public depends upon. For more than 10 decades, the company has developed and maintained
those important assets that enhances the growth of the societies and economies along with the
road and rail, seaports, bridges, tunnels, health, airports and the educational facilities that
increases the progress and infrastructure of them. At the initial stage in the year 1909, the
company began to operate across multiple nations which are mature and emerging economies.
The influence of the company is in the hidden innovation, buried pipes and pumps, bold
engineering feats and all the financing, joined up thinking and the partnerships which make
many of the great infrastructure projects across the world.
The important geographies of the company are US, UK and Hong Kong including 24,500

Construction services in which the company manages the strong construction businesses in the
Hong Kong, US and the UK. Support services in which the company offers the outsources
maintenance, management services and the upgrade in the road and rail, utilities infrastructure
and the power transmission.

where the voice of the employee matters. The primary purpose of the company is to transform
their industry for meeting the challenges and overcome the obstacles that comes in the future.

partners. These stakeholders with multiple interests have to function together for offering the

are most importantly focused on the sustainable innovation which emphasize on the latest
products, social performance and the operational efficiency. The latest technological
