Introduction
With changes in time, the academic and personal development of individuals is taking
a drastic turn because of the importance that it holds in defining the future of a country. The

children and youth can develop their power of knowledge and competence with the help of
newly learned academic abilities. Students can learn and improve their different academic
skills which includes communication skills, writing skills, mathematical operations, etc.
learning abilities can be developed by learners with the help of various instructional materials
which can help to develop their knowledge and experience. Academic skills are those
capabilities and habits that helps the students in pursuing their educational goals like learning
new things, investigation, word processing, etc. Thus, these include intellectual and
communication skills, organizational planning, analysis, experiment and technical details
which are learned in this process. Students with great skills and learning methods can easily
remain motivated in achieving their goals and objectives in a quick and easy manner.
Academic skills and abilities help to boost the self esteem, competence and confidence level
of students(Bell and Colleran, 2019) . It also helps in dealing with exam pressures and
meeting project deadlines. The following project will focus on the personal and academic
development of an individual. It shall also help in the preparation of an effective portfolio for
the students so that they can improve their academic development by proper plans and
models.

1. Team Contract
The contract is basically the signing the agreement between two different mutual
understanding parties. This contract is done in written document and everything is clearly
mention in contract like share and profits of each person. If in future some issue is raised
between them then this agreement is considered as legal documents. It is important to make
an agreement before start any business because if the partner case a file in the court for
profits then you have a document which shows in court to defend.
2. Forming Effective Habits
The formation and development of effective habits is important for a person in order
to manage day to day tasks in a precise manner. In the person and professional life, it is
important for an individual to focus on key approaches which are helpful in forming effective
habits. It is major role of an individual to focus on key goals and objectives and achieve them
with help of effective habits in personal and professional life. The individual can also take
support of seniors and professors in academic life in order to form effective habits. In the
recent times, importance of forming effective habits is increasing in professional as well as in
personal life to lead the competition. The individual should also develop a major strategic and
planning framework in order to facilitate development of effective habits.
3.CRAAP
The CRAAP stands for currency, relevance, authority, accuracy and purpose which
are helpful in developing a test. The CRAAP approach is a testing approach which is helpful
in evaluating success of a candidate. It is essential for an individual to develop CRAAP
approach in order to test knowledge gained by a candidate. All major candidates in academic
life should focus on developing evaluation through CRAAP test for achievement of key goals
and objectives.
4. Reading List
It is important for an individual to focus on development of a reading list in order
facilitate learning and development. Development of reading list is also important for an
individual to perform operations in a well defined manner. The books and journals helps an
individual to develop effectiveness in various tasks and functions in academic life. It is also
one of the major role of an individual to develop reading list according to requirement of
academics. It is also important for a person to develop strategic goals related to academics
and achieve them with help and support of preparing a reading list.

Reflect on being an effective student of Business Management in higher education.
Leadership and management skills can be generated with the help of management
education which can provide ease to the students to shape and develop their career in the
Management and Marketing field. Students in order to form well built personalities, they
require professional growth in their life. This professional growth can help in boosting the
self confidence of the individual and lower their dependability on any other person. Thus,
professional knowledge can be improve with development in the professional field which in
turn will lead to high confidence and knowledge (Issayev, Masalimova and Magzumova,
2018). Lack of these skills can be really depressing and disheartening in the industry where
an individual grows. With proper professional growth for an individual they can not just stay
competent but also be highly successful in their sector. When the knowledge and skills are
deliberately sought during the process of professional development it ensures that they stay
current and relevant. This is turn helps the employees to stay up to dated with the price
movements , fluctuations and it is easier to achieve objectives. This determines the
importance of professional development for career growth as it relates to the information and
instructions that are given for it. As I am a management and marketing student I am very
concerned about my academic performance and score which is why I look forward to earning
a degree in management because I believe that higher education is essential for the
professional development to address the career opportunities that come in my way. It has
been analysed and evaluated by me continuity in professional learning is essential because it
strives an individual to learn new skills which can help me in succeeding in my field. I have
observed that professional learning is not just simple training because it is crucial for
management and staff in becoming fully knowledgeable. In this project I have considered
different factors which can prove to be helpful in my personal and professional development
and also in performance management for higher education (Lucas, 2018). The things
analysed by me relating to the management and professional development are as follows:
 It prepares and helps to understand the efforts needed for success
 Awareness about things can be gained by students with professional skills
 individual's knowledge can be development with learning of professional talents
 It provides assistance in goal setting and achieving them.
 Professional development will help in building the professional career.

As an effective student in the higher education's field of business management, I have to
focus on building my strengths and minimizing my weaknesses so that I can make the use of
the opportunities to my advantage and remove the threats or barriers that come in my way.
For proper analysis of my strengths and weaknesses it is essential for me to apply SWOT
analysis so that it can help me in recognizing my positive and negative points and to suggest
methods which can help me in improving my strengths and to address the career development
opportunities in my future life. The SWOT analysis has been explained below:
1. STRENGTHS- According to the observation and analysis made by me, I have noticed
that I possess good leadership qualities due to which it is easier for me to assist my
friends and followers. I also have good communication skills so it is easy for me
engage with people. My presentation skills are also my strong points.
2. WEAKNESSES- In my observation, It is often difficult for me to complete my
projects on time, which is why time management is a major weakness in me. I also
have weakness with respect to correct assessment of all the statistics and data.
3. OPPORTUNITIES- With the growth of technologies in all fields of life, it is an
excellent opportunity to learn new techniques and build a strong personality. Digital
marketing sessions can also help me learn and advance in my job field.
4. THREATS- I don't have the skills relating to the usage of computer and the system
related to it, so it can be my threat (Mozaffari, 2020) .
As there is growth in the competition, each student focuses on building their career and
profession so I need to improve my poor studying habits because they have an impact on the
academics.
Reflect on how acquisition of skills through completion of this module would assist
me to achieve personal and future success.
I look forward to achieving certain set of goals which will help me in maintaining
relevancy and effective performance in my field of work. I have made an observation
regarding the technical talents and skills that they are very vital for me to efficiently address
my career chances and opportunities. Technical skills and abilities are essential because they
provide assistance to me in raising my morale so that I work with efficiency according to my
schedule. The technical talents required by me are Machine learning, Cloud computing,
analytical skills, mobile applications, leadership skills for team, media production and
leadership in marketing. With proper usage of the technical abilities, it will help me with the

knowledge relating to computer language, general environment operations and competency in
software handling. It shall also help me in enhancing my writing skills with proper data
analysis and development of product applications. With the proper learning of all these skills
which are mentioned above, it can ease in the achievement of personal and future goals
while also improving my career success rate. I am looking forward towards development of
these skills and with the proper assessment of this module it will help in effective gain of the
knowledge and skills for addressing the future career opportunities(Pellegrini, Caputo and
Matthews, 2019) .
It has been observed that for individuals to succeed, they must possess different
talents and should examine their accomplishments from time to time so that they can enhance
their capabilities. With respect to students, they must inculcate positive attitude and behavior
to reach their goals on time. Students should focus on forming connections and making ties
with the people from different backgrounds so that their thoughts and knowledge can help in
bringing positive results. 'Achieving success' has been emphasized in this discussion. All the
group mates must be aware of the positives of achieving success so that they can pursue the
job opportunities that come in their way. The most fascinating part of this module is to
concentrate on the study programs. For the children who want to achieve success must
develop different skills and examine what they achieve so that they gain knowledge
accordingly. It is expected that the students must demonstrate actions that can help them win
so that goals are achieved on time.
It has been analysed by me that in order to acquire these skills I need to have a proper
plan based on academic and personal development which can help in making decisions while
also improving my communication skills and helping me to set a positive mind that can deal
with situations of uncertainty with ease(Phiri, 2019). Following are the skills that require
improvement by me so that goals on personal and career level can be achieved by me-
 Decision-making skills- It is essential that the learners make an improvement in their
abilities of making judgments and decisions so that they can advice towards the right
path by guiding them to achieve their goals. Learners should inculcate decision
making skills in them which can help them in achieving success. Positively behaving
learners have the quality to maintain different theories and understanding which can
help them in excelling in the education sector in future.
 Creating optimistic attitude- Apart from making judgments in order to be
successful, it is essential that the learners remain consciously positive and try to be

helpful to someone so that strong relations can be built with other people. Every
individual wants to be the best in their sector so that they live a happy life. Achieving
success is not an easy task, it requires hard work and dedication to reach at a certain
point. When the learners learn form the leaders then individuals will learn to help
others which can be very beneficial in getting successful.
 Interpersonal skills- for achieving goals, students should practice communication
skills as it helps to learn new theories, models and procedures which can be effective.
I should practice presentation skills because it will help in the achievement of goal
which requires practice of theoretical approaches and methods with effectiveness. I
have analyzed that I need to design strategies and implement them by looking at the
problem in my current training schedule so that I can obtain success.
 Management abilities- it is essential for the students to manage their time
effectively because it is very essential for ensuring success. This also relates to
management of employees which can help in development of retention skills. I am
determined to improve this management ability so that all the uncertain situations can
be effectively managed for personal benefits and also for the work sector in future.
Explanation of two models of academic and personal development
and how this has improved my learning.
Model 1
My learning improved with the personal growth model from the Mind Elevator that
has depicted five key processes relating to the personal self improvement which includes
belief, plan, action, outcome and assessments. The application of this model will help me in
the improvement of my actions at the right path. It will also help me in my personal
academics and professional development. This model will help me in my learning and the
process of personal development. This model has been explained below:
Belief
It is the stage of exploring new things and then setting major goals which can help in
development and transformation. In order to help the students understand their inner
capabilities, we can encourage understanding, care and sympathy. During this period, kids are
encouraged by professionals for expressing their stories and exploring their skills and
interests. It is needed the fundamental needs are determined and beliefs are set for the
learning process (Teoli, Sanvictores and An, 2019) .

Plan
After the belief is set, it is essential to formulate a plan by appropriate strategies
which can prove to be helpful in learning. It is not just the list of what to do instead it
includes anything that relates to life objectives and job strategies. I need to prepare plans for
effective time management so that my objectives can be achieved.
Action
It is considered as a vital step in taking proper actions towards the achievement of
goals because it also involves responsibilities. I also need to have mentoring programs for
making my plans beneficial for me by completing them step by step.
Result
This point totally depends on my strategies, plans and the action that is taken by me
towards my goals. Analyzes of consequences is also essential so that I can work towards
gaining benefits by avoiding the negatives that can arise within it.
Review
It is the last step of the model because after receiving the results, review of the work is
essential to again reactivate this model of personal growth and development. This model thus
helps in achieving goals and objectives.
Model 2
Vark Learning styles
According to this model basically there are four categories of learning for students
which includes visual, listening, reading/writing and Kinesthetic. The belief that the students
can best learn with different teaching styles and school programs which are adapted in the
classroom became famous in 1970s and 80s. This model can help me in improving my
personal growth. The steps to this model are as follows:
Visual Learners
Students who are keen on learning through a visual medium tend to sit in the front
rows of the class. They use forms such as underlining, making charts and diagrams, using
colors for making notes, etc. I should improve my abilities of visual learning in order to
maintain my learning process(Tucker, 2020).
Audio Learners

Learners who wish to learn by listening tend to pay more attention to the speech and
sounds because it can benefit them. Expression of thoughts, reading loudly, and repeatedly
reading certain topics can help me in my learning.
Read/ Write learners
Generally, students who are more involved in research require this learning style
because they need to communicate through what they write and also read a lot on a daily
basis. Teachers can draw pictures and make lists on them. It will help me in my academics to
properly research about a subject and write on it.
Kinesthetic Learners
These learners mostly involve hands on learning. In Maths class, learners usually
spend a lot of time on standing and learning the maths tricks. It has been observed that kids as
well as teachers need to be active so they must inculcate kinesthetic learning style. This
model thus helps in effectively learning and achieving my goals.
