Bandcamp Project: Integrating Chatbots and Social Media - A Report

This report outlines two new projects for Bandcamp, a music streaming and purchasing platform, to enhance its services: chatbot integration for online customer support and improved social media interaction. Introduction
An organization named as Bandcamp which is a musical industry provides the music streaming and
purchasing of the music. This company was developed in the year 2007. Now for the enhancement of
the company the Bandcamp requires the new projects so that it can provide the best features to their
user. So in this report, I have mentioned the two new project i.e. chatbot integration (online customer
support) and Social media interaction.
In this report i have mentioned the Software development life cycle of the chatbot integration and the
benefits of this project for the organization. The breakdown structure of the chatbot system and the
gantt chart is also discussed. I have also mentioned about the PERT and CPM. The feasibility,
requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, acceptance, maintenance of the online
customer support system are also discussed in this report. It basically depicts how the online support
system will help Bandcamp.com to increase the customer growth by providing solutions to the problems
experienced by the customers.

Bandcamp is the music company which provides the various functionality to their users. The Bandcamp
wants to enhance their company products so that the growth of the company can be increased. For this
growth the Bandcamp wants to inculcate the two products of the company. The projects are
intractability with the social media and customer online support.
The project titles are intractability with the social media and Chatbot system.
Project Title: Intractability with the social media
Definition: The social media is the best way to increase the reach to the customer so that more
customers will use the product. The company ‘Bandcamp’ have to be more active on the social media so
that company would able to reach to the more customers. This helps in the enhancement of the
bandcamp.
Objective:
Following are the objectives of the intractability with social media:
1. The awareness among the users about the Bandcamp is increases.
2. Reach to the customer increases.
3. The user will able to know about the products of the bandcamp.
Risk:
There are certain risks while using this project. Some of the risks are mentioned below:
1. User can also give the negative feedback about the company which affects the image of the
bandcamp.
2. Hacking issue can also be there.
Constraints:
1. $7,000 to $10,000 required for the project completion.
2. About four to five months are required for the project completion.
Successful Completion:
This project is marked as successful if more and more user knows about the bandcamp and uses the
product of the bandcamp.

Project title: Chatbot integration
Definition: Online customer support is the project which is used to provide the online support to the
customer. Online chat system is provided to the customer for resolving their problems which they are
facing. Online customer support is a online chat system in which there is some answers of the question
is pre-stored. This will helps in increasing the flexibility of the company.
Objective:
The objective of the chatbot integration is discussed below:
1. This will help users in resolving their problem.
2. Reduce the company labour.
3. Interaction between the user and the organization system increases.
Risk:
1. There can be various kinds of attacks while using the chat system. One of the basic examples is
man in the middle attack.
2. Network or system failure is the major which can be faced by the customer.
Constraints:
1. $9000 is the cost for the development of the online customer support.
2. It requires at least three to four month for completing the project.
Project completion:
The project is considered as completed when the user is satisfied with the solution which is provided by
the chat system and when it successfully able to resolve the problem of the customer.
1.2 Identify the factors that contribute to the process of project selection
Time Constraints
The total time taken by the firm for the development of any project is called the time constraints. The
time constraints should be minimum as it tells us about the time taken to develop the any project. The
project is firstly divided into the different modules and then the time for the each module is decided.
The module is completed into specific time which is mentioned into the table. The development of the
project on to the time will increase the quality of the firm.
Technical and financial factor
Technical factor: The software used by the bandcamp for the development of any product is considered
as the technical factor. The software should be more accurate so that the output is more relevant and
efficient. For the enhancement of the firm the software should be of very good quality.

Financial factor: The expenditure of the firm for the development of any project is considered as the
financial factor of the firm. The financial factor of any firm should be minimum. The product developed
by the company should not be more expensive so that any customer can buy the product. The income of
the firm should be maximum.
Scope and Business benefits:
The scope is referred as the future enhancement of the Bandcamp. In the future enhancement of the
company can be done with respect to their products and the response time of the bandcamp can also be
minimized. That means the delivery of the products should be done as soon as possible. The output of
the product should satisfied by the customers and the product should proved as an asset for the
customers. In future, the more and more customer should be in touch with the bandcamp.
Many Business benefits are mentioned below:
1. The bandcamp is enhancing their customer service by providing the best services to their
customer and all time support for the problems which the customer of bandcamp is facing.
2. The company is increasing the social activities so that more and more users are aware about the
company.
3. The interaction of the user with the company is increasing.
4. The product quality is increasing and the delivery time of the product is decreasing.
Risk and uncertainty:
Risk is the major issue in any company. Due to the risk the data loss can occur which occurs the huge
damage to the organization. The removal of the risk is very necessary and hence risk management is
mandatory for any organization. If there is the risk then the quality of the product decreases
automatically and the efficiency of the firm is also decreases. The chance for the enhancement of the
company is low.
When the environment of the company is continuously changing then this is referred as uncertainty.
Due to uncertainty the risk factor of the organization increases.
Net present value:
The net present value is the value which is used to determine the profit gained by the organization. The
net present value can be calculated by subtracting the present value from the total value. The formula
for the NPV is described below:

1.3 Produce a specification for the agreed project
Introduction
The chatbot system is the system which provides the 24*7 service to the customer for solving their
problems. This is basically used to enhance the customer service provided by the organization. User
service involves the pro-active interaction of the customer with the organization and the extensive user
support.
Problem
Bandcamp is not able to provide the 24*7 help to their users due to which the users are facing problems
in using the product of the Bandcamp. Therefore, the company is looking for the project which can
easily resolve this problem for both customer and organization. Chatbot system is resolving the entire
problem and ‘Smooch’ is the tool which provides the best business chating app.

Breakdown structure
Breakdown structure basically refers to break down of the projects into the small part so that the entire
project will be completed into the given time. I have divided this project into the four phases. All those
four phases are described below:
Phase one: In this phase, the problem which the bandcamp is facing is analysed and the solutions are
provided. Out of so many projects the best project will be selected and implemented.
Phase two: In this phase, the data is obtained then the data is prepared and processed. After this the
design of the project is created. Lastly, all the design is integrated into one design and final design is
generated.
Phase third: In this phase, the testing and implementation of the project is done. The output for the
desired input is obtained and checks whether the output meets the requirement of the Bandcamp or
not.
Phase fourth: In this phase, after the completion of the project the project is delivered to the Bandcamp
and the regular updation of the project is done.
Work Breakdown Structure
Work breakdown structure is a structure is a structure in which we project is divided into the number of
sub project which is done individually in the given time. The project is divided into manageable team
and hence the efficiency of the project is increased.

Gantt is a chart which tells us about the scheduling of the project. This is kind of a bar graph which helps
in planning, coordinating, tracking and scheduling the task of the project.

Critical path
Critical path is a sequence of the stages which is used to identify minimum time required for any
operation. It is the largest sequence of actions which is required to complete on time. Critical path is
used in all the form of projects such as software development, product development, research projects
and plant maintenance. Critical path calculates the longest path of activities to the end of the projects.
