1HEALTHCARE ASSIGNMENT
Introduction
Continuous and gradual increase in the healthcare interventions development of strategies
and increased involvement of the patients has developed the environment that compels the
healthcare organisations to include strategic changes (Sondaal et al., 2016). Besides these, there
are aspects that require complete adaptation of the new strategy so that they can be provided with
effective intervention (Goodman et al., 2016). In the United States of America, there is an
organisation namely the Banner healthcare that also requires strategic development and
involvement so that people around the organisation could be provided with improved healthcare
(Smith et al., 2016).
In this assignment, the readiness of the Banner HealthCare would be discussed and with
that a strategic plan to address the issues related to network growth, nurse staffing, resource
management, and patient satisfaction could be addressed. Finally the comparison of the
organisation with the Singapore airlines would be conducted to understand the involvement of
any cultural issues that could influence the practices mentioned for Banner healthcare.
Description of chosen organisation and its strategic planning as well as readiness
The Banner Healthcare USA was developed in 1990 and since then is diligently serving
the people of USA and around the globe through the network of its 28 healthcare facilities
(Bannerhealth.com, 2019). As per the official website of the network, by developing merger with

pharmacological and teaching practices research and development of strategies that could

working throughout its network, the organisation also serves as one of the leading non-profit
organisation for the patients in need (Bannerhealth.com, 2019). The mission of the organisation
is to provide the patients with effective and improved care so that patient outcome and service
could be addressed. Further, thorugh the usage of involved technologies, the leaders are planning
to expand their facilities so that need of the community could be served (Bannerhealth.com,
2019).
The care management overview report published by the Banner University medicine
mentioned that they serve the community and determines their readiness upon three aspects,
including priority for the people, excellence and development of improved results (Agarwal et
al., 2015). This helps the organisation to understand the compassion, dignity and respect of the
patients. Further, it also helps to understand the expectations of the patients so that healthcare
professionals could understand the need and requirements of the patients while working in the
care system (Burstin, Leatherman & Goldmann, 2016). The readiness of the organisation could
be understood from the fact that the organisation aims to develop itself as a national leader that
would be recognized for its clinical as well as the innovative organisation that helps to determine
the quality of involved patient’s life. Further to address the increased pressure and to
accommodate the revised need of the patients, the organization is focusing upon maintaining its
good performance, developing its growth and implementing innovative ideas to understand the
requirement of the organisation to become leading healthcare network in the country by the year
2020 (Bannerhealth.com, 2019).
As mentioned in the recent report of Burstin, Leatherman and Goldmann (2016), the
involvement of 19 healthcare facilities, six long term care facilities, development of family
health clinics and inclusion of homecare and home medical programs are parts of the strategic

development of the Banner Healthcare organization around the world. Besides this, it was seen
that the banner healthcare organisation has implement strategies to develop connected and
integrated organisation network so that all the organization working in the light of this strategic
plan could be provided with effective abilities to overcome its healthcare complications
(Goodman et al., 2016). Besides this, inclusion of this strategic plan is also responsible for the
reduction in the patients care process error and increased patient satisfaction so that the patient’s
healthcare costs and expense could be reduced and improved care could be provided
(Bannerhealth.com, 2019). Moreover, one of the primary aspect of the strategic planning for the
Banner healthcare is its involvement in the financial planning that helps the organization to
understand the fact that inclusion of financial aspects in quality could help to balanced these two
primary aspects of healthcare and the benefit could be provided to the patients in need (Burstin,
Leatherman & Goldmann, 2016).
Comparison with Singapore airlines
Despite the fact that these both organisations namely the Singapore airlines and the
Banner Healthcare are different depending upon their type of operations and area of
functionality, hospitality and customer satisfaction is the primary goal for both the organizations.
This is important as error in any process in both the organizations affects the life of the
consumers directly (Messner, 2016). Therefore, the comparison should be inclusive of aspects
that both the organization does not possess. The Singapore airlines is more concerned about the
consumer reprints reviews and complaints which could be not be observed in case of the Banner
healthcare as majority of the patients that visit the healthcare facility are terminally or critically
ill that requires effective care process (Lin, 2015). Hence, conduction of routine survey, and
interviews are impossible for the healthcare organisation that the airlines organisation. The

banner healthcare in the contrary includes the patient feedback form that every patient and their
family members are asked to fill after their hospital stay is over so that the modifications could
be highlighted by the service users (Agarwal et al., 2015). However, it is important for both the
organization to include culturally competent services so that people could be provided with
dignity and respect while conducting the care process effectively. Hence, this is the comparison
that could be drawn from both of these organizations (Smith et al., 2016).
Conclusion
While concluding the assignment, it should be mentioned that while working for the
consumer satisfaction, it is important that the leading organisation compare its services with
other leading orgnaisations so that the need and requirement of the consumers could be
understood. In this report, the discussion of Banner healthcare was conducted that works with a
network of 19 healthcare facilities. In the process, the leading aspects of the care process, the
strategic process of the organization and the changes that is required to be addressed could be
implemented. Further, through the application of comparison of banner Health with Singapore

requirements.
